Ah, another year’s lease, wonderful!
Leave your worries at the door and put your feet up.

gransal Sat 20-Jul-19 23:34:25

I was taught to share so I will have a go on the one with the big chopper but I will pass him on. promise

lemongrove Sun 21-Jul-19 09:51:25

Oh yes gransal we have heard your promises before!
You always have your fingers crossed behind your back.
What happened to your promising to do latrine duties??

lemongrove Sun 21-Jul-19 09:55:05

I have chucked out the coffee/elephant dung, I was starting to crave peanuts ( and the one thing you cannot dare to eat in The Argy are the peanuts!)
So.... have lured George Clooney back here, just for mornings ( he has filming to do in the afternoons) with his Nespresso machine ......his only condition is that we don’t tie him to it again.

Doodle Sun 21-Jul-19 16:09:05

Of course we won’t lemon (snigger fingers crossed behind my back too) ??

lemongrove Sun 21-Jul-19 16:14:03

Well Doodle I only promised that we wouldn’t tie him to it, we could always chain him to it, or superglue him to it.
GrannyGravy13 was hanging around him and eyeing him up, and George started shaking ( think he is downing too much caffeine.)cafe

lemongrove Sun 21-Jul-19 16:15:23

I told him that age was catching up with him and that when the film parts dried up he could have a bar job here.
He laughed a lot, so think he was pleased.

Doodle Sun 21-Jul-19 21:35:07

Excuse me lemon but grannygravy insisted on having all the firemen. She can’t have George too.....even if he is getting past his prime ?

Menopaws Tue 23-Jul-19 01:00:39

Thanks for changing the coffee Lemon, my skin was getting a bit leathery. I’m going back on the poteen for a while, at least I know how to cope with the side effects from that

lemongrove Tue 23-Jul-19 09:02:43

Good choice!

Am in early today to do a bit of a clean up, who left all these
Peanut wrappers all over the floor, and who’s that slumped in the chair by the fire? It’s George! What happened, he looks exhausted?!
Doodle!!

maddyone Tue 23-Jul-19 10:19:35

What have you ladies done to poor George? I’ll have to take him home so he can recover now. I’ll bring him back tonight, but Doodle will have to treat him carefully.

maddyone Tue 23-Jul-19 10:21:07

I’ll have him all to myself for a bit.
He can have a nice rest in my house.

Doodle Tue 23-Jul-19 11:43:38

You can have him now maddy I’ve finished with him ?

Day6 Tue 23-Jul-19 16:37:53

Ah, but George loves ME!!! He trembles when he sees me approach!

I am prepared to go on the "Who takes care (snort!) of George today?" list, but on my day I want him returned in good condition. Be gentle with him you lot, and Maddy, don't break him. Make sure he is fine fettle for the Argy tomorrow. He is about the only thing the establishment has going for it

I think super-gluing him to his coffee maker is a good idea Lemon. I like your style. (Have we used super-glue to detain men punters before?)

I am nipping down to the docks again in a minute, in my fetching leather cat-suit, to try and waylay some sailors or a dashing naval captain rustle up some much-needed custom for the Argy. All the men in uniform seemed to have been nabbed and nobbled by tarty regulars with big jugs huge amounts of that toxic poteen.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 23-Jul-19 17:42:29

Ok I confess, George helped me to celebrate my birthday yesterday and I fear my over exuberance may have traumatised him ?????? Fortunately the firemen were on hand to extinguish the flames (an abundance of candles???)

I shall while away an hour hiding behind the sofa I have fizz and will share ????

Doodle Thu 25-Jul-19 21:17:24

Ok I know the temperature has rocketed and we are having a heatwave but really lemon do you have to walk around like that.?? You’ll frighten the neighbours (let alone the firemen) ?

lemongrove Thu 25-Jul-19 22:07:29

?
Yes, I really do!
It’s been so hot today I decided to go topless, ah! The freedom of it.
Actually, am a bit miffed that only you have noticed Doodle ?

lemongrove Thu 25-Jul-19 22:08:26

Anyhoo, join me in a pint of iced creme de menthe?

lemongrove Thu 25-Jul-19 23:28:05

Time to hit the sack moon so am locking up the bar for the night.....to anyone still lurking in here, you can bunk up with Trev, Thor and Big Jim in the cellar, and I will let you out in the morning.

gransal Sun 28-Jul-19 00:55:18

Just found the recipe for a lovely moonshine, courtesy of my soujourn to the good ole US of A many years ago. It lasted for 7 years so I have perfected the recipe.I may drip feed it to George, just to remind him of home of course. I know I have latrine duties so after a pint of moonshine that place will sparkle. As long as you have your sparkle glasses on.

lemongrove Sun 28-Jul-19 10:00:56

Well done gransal.....that’s the spirit! Literally.
We do love a drop of moonshine here.?
It’s happy hour soon, I shall ease my bulk onto a stool and wait for Thor to open the bar.

Mornin' all.

Been on holiday duties for a couple of weeks, helping prep some cricketers for a forthcoming bash with the men from Oz. Have been part of the warm up team, mostly involving massage of cricketers and their bats.

Use of linement very interesting, strangely 'nuff it tasted good with LEMON and ice cubes, sorry to shout but this is so exciting.

Apparently some of the totty the cricketers are having afternoon tea today with soop's lot??? Why??

Will report back later, just off for a quick swig of linement cup of delicious, refreshing tea. Lemon should we start stocking tea !!??

I'll lasso invite some of the cricketers over to the Argy later, for research purposes only. We can ask them about googlies perhaps?

Menopaws Tue 30-Jul-19 00:45:10

Maybe they will bowl a few maidens over! Nothing beats a full toss

lemongrove Tue 30-Jul-19 19:39:16

Tea? TEA?! What are things coming to? This is a bar not a vicar’s tea party.
We do coffees, but only in the morning ( and if George Clooney feels up to manning the Nespresso machine.)
Those cricketers sound good though,Carillion yes, send them here later ( rubs hands happily.)

lemongrove Tue 30-Jul-19 19:40:22

Meno ! grin
Couldn't have put it better myself.

Carillion01 Wed 31-Jul-19 13:26:26

Rightyo lemon, they're on there way, apparently they're going to be a bit busy, on and off for the next few days with the geezers gents from Oz but have heard rumours great things about The Argy! ??

Meno said she's baggsied the twelfth man because he only serves booze so has the most energy
