When I got back from food shopping today I unpacked my bags put everything away had a bite to eat then went to get something out my purse and it’s not anywhere I have hunted high and lo even looking in the fridge and food cupboards in case I d absentmindedly put it there asi unpacked. Nothing.. I rang the store I only went to the one, nothing handed in I ve cancelled my cards so until Monday I don’t have a penny in the house doesn't that feel bad (no one had tried to use the card) I m really sad as my railcard was in my purse and I ve got some travelling to do next week when two grandkids arrive
I keep going over and over my kitchen and shopping bags as I felt convinced I d zipped it in my bag when I finished shopping of course I took £50 cashback when I paid for my goods, sods law isn’t it
I know it’s not the end of the world but I feel tearful ?

in not on

dragonfly46 Sat 13-Jul-19 17:50:23

Gonegirl is right ring the shop again near closing time and ring the bus company again tomorrow. Things take a while to be reported.

BlueBelle Sat 13-Jul-19 18:05:51

I have re-rung everyone twice and no it’s not turned up
I definitely know it didn’t happen on the bus I sat alone and my bus passs was in my back pocket and shopper was done up
I did check the garden in case it fell out as I was getting my keys out although I m sure I would have heard it but no nothing
I have gone over it a hundred times I definitely put the cashback in my purse and pretty sure I then put the purse in the zipped up compartment I remember turning to look at the trolly to make sure I had all my stuff and thought I would have seen it if I’d left it in the trolly
But anyway it’s gone now so I need to get over it and go to the bank on Monday to get some money as I have two grandkids arriving
Onwards and upwards no good crying thanks to everyone for trying, good to know I ve got friends ?

Oh Bluebelle I'm so sorry to read this flowers

Grammaretto Sat 13-Jul-19 18:20:24

I hate when that happens. As you say though it isn't the end if the world and may yet turn up. Annoying about the railcard.
I hope if someone did steal it, that their need was greater than yours. which I doubt

Urmstongran Sat 13-Jul-19 18:55:15

I hate losing anything. Luckily more often that not ‘it’ turns up. I hope your purse does too Bluebelle

Send a prayer up to St Anthony asking for help?

clementine Sat 13-Jul-19 19:01:58

I am so sorry that you have lost your purse, even worse when you can trace it back to only one shop and it's not there. happened to me years ago and ever since when I go shopping I take my phone which is in a case, the case has slots for cards and I only take my debit card . The rest I leave in my " main purse" at home .

Willow500 Sat 13-Jul-19 19:08:51

I wonder if someone was watching and dipped into your bag on the way out of the shop or on the bus - thieves can be so quick and go unnoticed at the time. What an awful thing to happen. You say you've checked everywhere but did you look in the bin - maybe you absentmindedly threw something out and your purse was in your hand? Could it be in the freezer or fallen into a bag of food? Maddening about your rail card but at least you managed to stop your other cards before they were used. Hope it finally turns up!

Auntieflo Sat 13-Jul-19 19:17:50

Bluebelle I am so sorry to hear that you have mislaid your purse, and hope that it will turn up somewhere silly.
Not in the same league, but I lost my sunglasses recently. I phoned the bank and bus company. They were both so helpful, but did not have them. Then, I phoned the charity shop, where I volunteer, and the manageress said I’m sure I’ve seen them, leave it with me. Shortly afterwards, she rang me back, and hey presto, the lost was found!
So dig in the freezer etc, and hopefully they will turn up. ?

I ve absolutely no explanation but I m very relieved even though I ve got to wait for new cards

Bluebelle, I'd be shaken up and upset too. It's very frustrating. A purse is our lifeline in many ways and to be without it is like having a limb chopped off. I'd be fretting and crying. It has happened to me and my heart was in my mouth when I discovered it was missing. Someone had handed it in, bless them, at the post office, and the next day a kind assistant rang me to tell me they had it. It was SUCH a relief.

I really feel for you, and I'd also be really upset there was a lot of cash in the purse too. I do hope it turns up. Fingers crossed. There are lots of lovely, honest people in the world who don't keep what they find. It could get back to you.

Day6 Sat 13-Jul-19 19:52:38

Oh yay! You have found it!!!!

I am SO relieved for you! (How silly is that?) So pleased. smile

sharon103 Sat 13-Jul-19 20:05:57

Yippee! So very pleased you've found your purse Bluebell. (Just a senior moment) lol smile

BlueBelle Sat 13-Jul-19 20:06:36

Thank you so much I feel so stupid now

aggie Sat 13-Jul-19 20:07:47

So pleased for you smile I have a wee word with Saint Anthony any time I lose something

Gonegirl Sat 13-Jul-19 20:13:17

Hooray!!! grin

Evie64 Sat 13-Jul-19 20:17:41

Awww, bless you. I had my purse stolen once in London's West End and was mugged once in Pimlico. Since then, I am sooooo overly careful with my purse. But hey, it's only material goods. You weren't injured and no money was used on your cards. Just put it down to experience and stop worrying. Sh** happens but we survive eh?

SilverDarlings12 Sat 13-Jul-19 20:19:35

Slainte...Cheers. BlueBell. +

Willow500 Sat 13-Jul-19 20:20:31

Yeah that's great news although if you've cancelled your cards you will still have to wait for the new ones to arrive I think but at least you have your railcard and the cash. What a relief!! grin

Grammaretto Sat 13-Jul-19 20:21:06

What a relief! The Borrowers have returned it, obviously.
Pity you cancelled the cards.

Willow500 Sat 13-Jul-19 20:22:48

Sorry just realised you'd said you have to await the new cards!

Cherrytree59 Sat 13-Jul-19 20:42:59

Just reading your post and thinking that there was a glimmer of hope that your purse would be found as your cards had not been used.

Then I heard your shout Bluebell
Yeh you've found your purse!!!
