Not sure why i feel like this today but i do. Out early with my sister for a couple of hours shopping then home. Picked some raspberries and gooseberries from the garden and prepped the salad for dinner this evening, then i just felt so wiped out and had no energy left to do anything else!!! Felt like a really old lady as i sat down just before 2pm and there i have been for the rest of the day. Feel better now it has cooled down but also feel cross that i have wasted a day doing nothing really. Anyone else felt this way about their day.

Reading all your posts with interest, I hope when I eventually retire, I’ll manage to persuade myself it’s alright to do nothing, I know I don’t race around like I used to, but still find it hard to leave things undone, that need doing

barmeyoldbat I found myself wondering who ‘Solets’ were. Duh! in that they ‘do it this way’. I thought to myself are they indigenous people from the area you visit? Dim or what?! There’s no hope for me.

Yes! Last Sunday I actually didn't get out of bed till 9.00 when Love Songs came on. Made a pot of tea and plopped myself on the settee and didn't move till I had to about 4pm. Played on my laptop and watched crap TV. I did feel guilt, but, I keep telling myself, you don't always have to be doing something! It's perfectly alright to do nothing. Once in a while that is......xx

That is very true Apricity We should not view them as wasted days but spent in contemplation and self improvement ( reading ). No more wasted days for me.

I always feel a day is wasted when it’s sunny and warm and I am not out enjoying it. I might be busy with chores or shopping and then kick myself when for the next week we’re back to dull skies and drizzle.

I am, perforce, having a wasted day. I seem to have developed an inner ear infection and I am feeling very dizzy when I move my head. Sitting still almost immobile, I do not feel too bad. So that is what I am doing. I have had one before, it is a virus, so no point in wasting the GP's time.

It is very inconvenient, we are off on a summer holdiay on Monday with DS and family, I was meant to be finishing decorating a bedroom today and starting to gather the packing together. Before I realised what the problem was, I tried taking sea sick tabs hoping that would help. It didn't. Six housrs later I am trying ibuprofen as, whatever I have involves inflamation, and ibuprofen is anti-inflamatory.

Snap MOnica! I had similar 18 months ago, the room felt as though it were spinning. No other symptoms. GP sent me to an ENT specialist who arranged a brain scan. All was clear fortunately so it was decided it was an inner ear infection affecting my balance. Seems I have another one so I’m not going back to the doctor. Will have to get used to the ‘whoosh’ sensation 4 or 5 times a day. It occasionally happens when I’m asleep. Not pleasant. Actually feels scary.

Hope you (and I) feel better soon although it can take a few weeks to clear. Go carefully. x

Yesterday I (and a lot of people) had no option but to 'waste' a day just coping with the heat and mainly staying indoors. It was exhausting enough just looking after myself and the pets. My friend enjoys the heat and thinks I'm a misery but it actually makes me feel ill!

We had two wasted days this week whilst 'on holiday' waiting for a delivery of topsoil on Monday which finally arrived at 3pm - the hottest part of the day. Then again on Wed waiting in for a turf delivery and the gasman to service the boiler. The turf arrived at 2.30 but the gas man was called out to an urgent gas leak and will have to reschedule (this only after I rang at 4pm to see where he was angry )!
