Just a random question How often do you wear perfume? I realised that though I have a bottle of very nice perfume, I only put it on when I am going out of an evening! It’s going to last for ever, so a late resolution I will wear it every day , put it on when I clean my teeth!

Now that I''m older I don't use much. Splashing a little bit of cologne (or fragrant skin lotion) on a wet washcloth and spreading it all over provides a sufficient amount of subtle fragrance. On very special occasions only, I may splurge by placing a drop or two of the good stuff behind my wrists and ears.

Very very rarely
So many people have scent sensitivities.

Paul Smith's 'Rose' is lovely.
It smells just like the rose petals on beautiful, full bloom garden roses. smile
I love flowery smells, and I wear perfume most days.

Hetty58, theatres even more so! I end up becoming very itchy.

Many thanks to those who have suggested a few rose scented perfumes to try.

Much appreciated. I will try them out, and may buy more than one if they are not too expensive!

It’s such a personal thing isn’t it?
I have tried a lot in department stores recently but so many seem to smell much the same.

Everyday

annep1, supermarkets are dangerous. I can avoid the laundry and shampoo aisles, but not the people!

It’s a shame perfumes have to be so expensive. It seems such an extravagance when there is so much poverty in the world.

Daisymae Wed 15-Jan-20 22:07:07

Every day. No point in keeping as it will go off.

annep1 Wed 15-Jan-20 22:03:51

Hetty58 I would never have thought of that. I feel a bit guilty now. I would imagine it's quite a problem nowadays.

NotAGran55 Wed 15-Jan-20 19:59:41

Everyday . Except when I worked with severely autistic young people with complex needs . Just in case they found the fragrance challenging.

Tangerine Wed 15-Jan-20 19:40:25

I wear perfume most days.

I wish I could but I'm allergic so don't wear it. I have to take antihistamines if I just go out in public - to protect me from everyone above - Thanks folks!

My everyday perfume is Coco, eau de parfum, never on my skin. A couple of spritz into the air and walk into it, covers my hair and clothes. Another favourite is Lalique Le Parfum.

Judy54, I wear Acqua D’Alfresco whenever I am in mosquito country. A very good repellant with a beautiful lemony perfume.

Stella by Stella McCartney is a lovely rose perfume similar to Paul Smith’s Rose.

SalsaQueen Wed 15-Jan-20 19:29:49

I only ever wear Calvin Klein perfumes, I just like them all, but my favourite is CK1

SalsaQueen Wed 15-Jan-20 19:28:48

Every day, but because I've got very sensitive skin, I spray it into the air and walk through it (I read somewhere that it's the done thing), so that the perfume is on my clothes.

quizqueen Wed 15-Jan-20 19:08:28

The smell of perfume makes me gag! I hope no vegans on here wear it unless it's proven to be 100% not tested on animals.

rafichagran Wed 15-Jan-20 19:01:03

Every day, Shower, clean teeth, put on lippy and then deodorant and perfume. Its automatic for me.

Nortsat46 Wed 15-Jan-20 18:46:00

Every day:
- Molton Brown for around the house
- Chanel no19 for going out.

Haven’t changed either for a long time. Have been wearing no19 since late 1970’s. Works for me ...

CanadianGran Wed 15-Jan-20 18:22:02

Also every day for me. One spritz only, and it's quite light. Elizabeth Arden White Tea. I'm not dedicated to staying with one fragrance forever, so like to change when i use one up, and try something else. I also like O de Lancome,

I have another for evening, which is a bit heavier, Zen by Shiseido; again, one spritz only! Heavy fragrance bothers me. I think you should be able to smell it only within one or two feet of a person, not as they walk in a room!

Buffybee Wed 15-Jan-20 18:16:40

As most of the others, I wear perfume every day. Light florals seem to suit me and I mainly choose Angel for everyday, I also like Alien both Thierry Mugler.
Also Narcisco is lovely if you like floral.

I buy a rose scented perfume in M&S - not one of theirs but one of the lesser known ones in the Beauty part. There are various ‘flavours’ for about £20 for 100ml. It’s a french name and lasts well. I’ve just bought the white gardenia one and that is just wonderful.

BlueSky Wed 15-Jan-20 18:07:43

I wear men's eau de toilette! Much fresher than perfume but still pleasant. I thought I was the only one then I read that quite a few celeb women do the same!

grannymy Wed 15-Jan-20 17:55:53

I no longer keep things like that for "best." Live for today and wear it and enjoy it.

Patsy70 Wed 15-Jan-20 17:54:43

A light one for daytime. I love Rose too, I'll order one now shock.
