Me neither! grin

It's been nigh on impossible to avoid comments and opinions in the media but I do agree that if Harry and Meghan have not colluded with the authors why aren't they suing the pants off them?

maddyone Wed 12-Aug-20 10:21:14

No, I haven’t read it and don’t intend to read it. Have seen some of the media stuff, and can only say that unless either H+M colluded with the authors, or their ‘friends’ colluded, then there is absolutely no way that the authors would have has access to some of the information that’s being reported.

I read in The Times that Harry was impressed that when they were out in Africa at the start of their relationship, Meghan went off for a pee in the woods.

How would anyone know that in a million years unless H or M had told them??? They definitely colluded with the authors in a big way in my opinion, as maddyone says above, and there is no way I would buy the book. I have read a few media bits and am sick of them.

The price has already been reduced by a third in WH Smith’s yesterday.

Anniebach Wed 12-Aug-20 10:28:44

No . Heard the authors interviewed on ‘Today’,

I didn’t know Harry was a military hero , I know he served in
Afghanistan and had Gurkha guards but a hero !

Megan was upset that there is the protocol in the royal family
where Charles and Camilla, William and Kate have first dibs
in the line up .

I realise how wrong I was to ask my granddaughters ‘who is
this boy you are seeing?’

maddyone Wed 12-Aug-20 10:30:19

Yes, I saw that too Sparklefizz, and as you say, that particular bit of information would be impossible to know without collusion, and therefore that sadly brings me to the conclusion that H+ M are happy to lie.

maddyone Wed 12-Aug-20 10:32:56

Also sadly, I’m expecting those who call anyone writing on a H+M thread a ‘hater’ to be along soon.

Ellianne Wed 12-Aug-20 10:34:18

No thanks. I've read a few lines from it in the papers and it is so obviously written in her vernacular. Just like the weird speeches Harry gives, she writes the scripts.

I'd love to know what the night nanny's 'unprofessional behaviour' was that got her sacked half way through her second night.

Did Meghan catch her having a crafty fag out of the nursery window?

Sparklefizz Wed 12-Aug-20 10:41:45

^I didn’t know Harry was a military hero , I know he served in

Actually the "dreaded Prince Andrew" was a bit more of a military hero....

Soon to be on the "anything for £1" shelf in Bookworld. grin

merlotgran Wed 12-Aug-20 11:09:59

Of course, the book is old news now. The 'breaking' news is that they upped sticks six weeks ago and have bought shock a 'family home' in Santa Barbara because the 18 room LA mansion was not Harry's style.

Apparently it's a quiet community with considerable privacy. Shouldn't that be was?

Oopsminty Wed 12-Aug-20 11:15:07

Not read it. Seen a few headlines. Harry being delightfully surprised as Meghan went to take a 'comfort break' in the woods when in South Africa was the one that made me realise this isn't the book for me.

timetogo2016 Wed 12-Aug-20 11:16:09

Not a read for me,it will be in thre charity shops before you know it.

Bluebellwould Wed 12-Aug-20 11:16:41

Apparently there is, in the back of the book, an acknowledgement that they did speak to the authors.

So Omid Scobie lied on breakfast telly yesterday then? shock

eazybee Wed 12-Aug-20 11:32:18

The author's note states 'We have spoken with close friends of Harry and Meghan, royal aides and Palace staff (past and present), the charities and organisations they have built long-lasting relationships with and, when appropriate, the couple themselves.'
The Mail on Sunday's legal team are examining this statement to see whether it constitutes evidence that the Duchess allowed friends to speak to the media on her behalf.
Oh, this won't end well.

Ellianne Wed 12-Aug-20 11:37:41

Are there pictures in the book?

Oopsminty Wed 12-Aug-20 11:40:33

It has clearly been approved by H&M or we'd be hearing from them demanding to sue the authors.

TwiceAsNice Wed 12-Aug-20 12:04:01

Not interested in buying it at all. Read an extract in a weekend paper and that was enough for me. So annoying and entitled especially at this time when things are so difficult for everyone else.

maddyone Wed 12-Aug-20 12:04:16

Oh it’s obvious that they colluded, probably directly and indirectly. I find it difficult to believe Palace staff spoke to the authors directly.
Now they’ve moved house, I hope we never hear from them again.

Ohmother Wed 12-Aug-20 12:26:26

Fifty Shades of Grey is a better bet......and that was a load of c@&p!

merlotgran Wed 12-Aug-20 12:27:07

I think the hole H&M have been digging is getting bigger by the day.

Did Omid Scobie not remember the authors' notes and does Carolyn Durand not have anything to say?

Maybe she's keeping her head down.

That's when I'll be buying it.
