I hope no-one else has done this or we will get confused- which we all know is very easily done.

Bubbly on the side just in case any one else turns up.

If not, see you tomorrow.

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite

What a nice place.
I have coffee and am wrapping gifts. I need to be sober. Last year I wrapped my husband’s bright red golf hat and labelled it for my DIL. Full attention on the job in hand.

Baggs Thu 10-Dec-20 13:52:22

Glad I found this! Just had a message from soop: “Puter a buggeration; please tell That Lot.”

Charleygirl5 Thu 10-Dec-20 13:52:38

Welcome Rosalyn if you are new. This is a very pleasant place to be.

soop when spring arrives and you can open doors and leave them open, I am 100% certain Fern will be dining in your kitchen by then and probably thinking about moving in full time because the food is good and she no longer has to look for a hot meal. She will still have access to the great outdoors but she will have a comfortable home and two willing servants to care for her every need.

Baggs Thu 10-Dec-20 14:04:01

And then I found soop's post on here showing the buggeratiions had ceased about half an hour after she sent thr message! That's good ?

I was napping, soop. Your message didn't wake me. I turn everything to "Do Not Disturb". I've even got MrB fairly well trained by now ?.

Lovely new kitchen.
We certainly keep the building trade and the decorators busy, not to forget the furniture suppliers.

I am feeling happier as I have had my hair cut and have a lead on a new cleaner.
I haven’t had one since March.
There is quite a layer of dust on everything?

I really must make a start on the very few cards I am sending.
I thought culling my list would make things better, not at all, I just dislike it however many I am sending.

Cool with a breeze is our weather today.
Sainsbury’s delivery at teatime, fridge is looking rather
depleted.
Have the best day you can everyone.

soop Thu 10-Dec-20 15:14:01

Thank you dear Baggs. You always come to my rescue. Even the signal for the mobile phone was zilch for a very long time earlier today.

Welcome Rosalyn As you will already have discovered, this kitchen together with all it's lovely "peoples" is a happy retreat from the buggerations of the outside world. flowers

ann My hair needs a complete make-over. It has never looked so shaggy and unstylish.

Charleyg We still have the task of trapping her/him for a trip to the vet for neutering. I would so love that to be over and done with. It will upset me to see her struggling to escape the cage in which she'll be imprisoned.

MacSporran has messed about with the 'puter. De-fragging etc. I've been tidying the wardrobes and cursing. wink

soop Thu 10-Dec-20 15:17:39

Something to make you titter...
MacSporran swears by the new herbal shampoo that he's trying.

Hellogirl1 Thu 10-Dec-20 15:55:48

LOL Soop, but I think I prefer the original version!

soop Thu 10-Dec-20 16:10:33

MacS's 'puter in the loft has conked out. This 'puter continues to make me curse in a most unladylike fashion. I cannot access certain websites at all. The man who we usually ask advice from isn't in the village. I shall have to throw in the towel and hope that by tomorrow we have something workable tech-wise.

Yesterday afternoon I had a bad experience. Incontinence big time. I contacted the GP and the district nurse is to contact me. Just when you think that things can't get worse...they do.

It has rained for the best part of the day. It's also windy. Good thing is...I have a snug home, a lovely husband, a wayward pussy cat and you lovely lot to cheer me.

Thank you for being there. I will do my best to return tomorrow. Please understand that I am NOT avoiding you. smile moon

Susan56 Thu 10-Dec-20 17:38:57

Welcome Rosalyn??

I have a hair appointment tomorrow for cut and colour.DH has been doing a good job spraying the roots for me but I am looking forward to my appointment tomorrow although not the hours wearing a mask?

We have just upgraded to super fast broadband and so far we are not impressed?it seems slower than before.

So sorry that you had an awful experience yesterday afternoon soop.It seems so unfair after all you have been through. What a buggeration.Hopefully the GP and District Nurse can come up with something to help you?

Am planning a quiet evening. As well as the hair appointment tomorrow we have Henry here for the day then school pick up for the divine Miss M.She is getting very nervous going anywhere that isn’t our house, her other grandparents or school. She was so confident before Covid. The latest ploy is DD messages me to say I am going to phone you,put on an accent.I then have to pretend to be from wherever they are going and assure them that it is a safe place to visit.Tonight they have gone to Chester Zoo for the lantern parade so I had to pretend to be the zookeeper! The first time DD phoned she forgot to tell me to disguise my voice and M said that lady sounds just like grandma? It is sad to see her so nervous but hopefully the more they go out,the more confident she will get??

Puzzler61 Thu 10-Dec-20 18:06:20

It’s grand to see so many have already visited the new kitchen today.
I would take you to the hairdresser soop if I could, to give you a boost. I have been today and the increase in charges made my eyes water.
Susan56 it’s such a pity your Miss M is losing her confidence but it’s a very creative idea to reassure her with the phone calls. If it reassures her, it’s doing the trick.
Hi Rosalyn. We’re usually sober in here ?
Bucks Fizz is a special treat for the opening ceremony today. Oh and we have Pimms when Wimbledon is on ....... and G&T aperitifs on some evenings ...... and sometimes a wee dram in a hot chocolate when it’s extremely cold ..... ?
I hope you got your wrapping done. It’s a national pastime just now.
It’s always a great ambiance in the kitchen with warm friendships. ?

Sar53 Thu 10-Dec-20 18:08:21

Good early evening everyone. I don't visit the kitchen very often but I do read about the goings on every day.
One of my older granddaughters (11 year old), facetimed me earlier to ask me to help her fill in a questionnaire for her technology homework. It was lovely to see her and her two younger sisters. I have only seen them once since February and will not be seeing them anytime soon. Hopefully next year will be better.
I've not been feeling brilliant recently, I have a woman's medical problem which is not going to resolve itself anytime soon. I think Soop would commiserate.
Upwards and onwards. I'm having a glass of fizz, cheers everyone xx

Doodle Thu 10-Dec-20 20:23:41

Evening everyone.
Welcome Urmston I love that photo. ? Welcome to you too Rosalyn .
soop sorry about the incontinence incident. That must have been upsetting, do you think it may be to do with your recent op and things not settling down yet?
My word that’s a fine head of hair MacSporran is sporting. I think I like the original too ?
Sorry the pooter’s been playing up. That is so annoying.
Puzzler speak for yourself ?. Bottoms up ?
Hello Sar sorry you are feeling a bit under the weather.
Hope you feel better soon.
TOYA?

Hello darling peeps. I am having huge difficulties with the internet broadband. It has taken me an hour thus far to get through the door. There is no one to whom we can go to for advice.

I am so sorry and frustrated. I need to allow MacS time to trawl through all the techie stuff. He has agreed to spend the afternoon attempting to contact BT, find where the fault is and, in time, maybe later this afternoon, I shall have better news.

Please take good care of yourselves. I'm missing you.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 11-Dec-20 13:15:52

The 11 month old is now walking!!!! We have secured the tree to the radiator (which is turned off), not sure how long the bottom baubles will remain in situ???

Nannytopsy Fri 11-Dec-20 13:18:58

What a buggeration soop. Computers are so annoying!
We are making piccalilli at the moment ( for DH and SiL) and I still plod on with my sewing.
I am waiting for dry weather - still have to put the garden to bed.
Hope you are all keeping busy!

Sar53 Fri 11-Dec-20 14:41:01

Hello everyone, I hope you are all feeling the Christmas spirit.
I had to go and pick up some contact lenses this morning so popped into Hot..r and ordered a new pair of boots, managed to get 30% off too.
Sorry to hear about the computer trouble Soop, there is nothing worse, especially when you are not sure what the problem is.
DGD1 is finishing school today as they are shutting the school til January. Online learning next week. I'm sure this will be the case with many secondary schools.
I'm doing my cross stitch at the moment listening to gentle music.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 11-Dec-20 14:44:55

Hi Sar53 it’s so long since I have been into your town, I didn’t realise it had a H***er shop

Sar53 Fri 11-Dec-20 15:39:49

GG13 yes one of the only shops left !!! It was being manned by just one lady, I did feel for her and she was so lovely. Not worth going into town unless you have to.
I cannot believe your grandson is 11 months and walking, where did that time go xx

Baggs Fri 11-Dec-20 15:46:37

Ohoh! Internet probelms at the Soops' again! BT reckons 24 hours at least. soop is tearing her hair out in frustration until she can grace the Kitchen with her virtual presence again and sends love.

BladeAnnie Fri 11-Dec-20 15:50:47

Just popping in to say hello all. GrannyGravy we have a 16 month old GD with a bauble fascination too!!

kittylester Fri 11-Dec-20 15:51:01

That really is a buggeration soop and the other bit of news is even more of one. Maybe, it was just one of those things! Hopefully!! It's horrid though isn't it. brew

That looks like fun GG!! But good for the lockdown wait gain (which I'm sure you don't have.

Did I tell you all that I bought a kit from the florist to make a door wreath. I made such a hash of it that I binned it. blush

Our occasional gardener makes them though and just look at it. I could never have done that in a million years.

kittylester Fri 11-Dec-20 15:52:24

Forgot the photo!!

GrannyGravy13 Fri 11-Dec-20 15:57:51

Looks good to me kitty ???

annsixty Fri 11-Dec-20 16:15:23

That baby is a darling GG13
The girl who cuts my hair has a GS also 11 months old and walking and they have put their tree in the playpen.
