Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s a bright start to the day.
Lovely to see you Dragonfly. We have missed you.
I’m going for my jab this morning. 20 miles up the motorway will give the car a much needed run. DD2 is here and will drive back if necessary.
We plan to have a wander round the market. It’s great to have some company.
Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe.

Good morning from Shropshire.Got all the weather today?☔️?

Not sure what we will do today as everything that needs doing is outside.

Sorry you are feeling so anxious Bellasnanna.

Hope that Mary and Cherry are both feeling better today.

Have a good day all.Thinking of our missing good morningers and all with sadness and worries.

Hope you are ok Ashcombe.

Susan56 Sat 13-Mar-21 08:07:26

Good to see you dragonfly??

grannysyb Sat 13-Mar-21 08:09:32

Bright and sunny here at the moment. Lidl had some cheap mini daffodils which I will plant this morning to fill the gaps in my front garden. DGS is 19 today, where did those years go? It snowed on the day he was born! Will go over to see him and give him his present this afternoon while DH watches the rugby. Hope you all have the best day possible.

Nannagarra Sat 13-Mar-21 08:11:38

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is windy and raining.
Nothing much to do today. I’ll probably potter until our Asda delivery arrives (late tonight).
How nice that Mrgaga arrived home to a welcoming rainbow. Thinking of those who have had or soon will have appointments and procedures, those who are troubled and need a hug. Have the best day you can everyone. ?????

Kalu Sat 13-Mar-21 08:12:38

Grammaretto I have used chunky wool to knit a large rectangle which I will stitch up today leaving an opening to fill with stuffing then close it up. Fingers crossed the result will be a pumpkin pouffe which GD1 has requested. ?

SecondhandRose Sat 13-Mar-21 08:14:58

Morning from sunny Essex. I’m on chemo so hoping for a little more energy to get some jobs done today. I’ll sit in the garden later if it stays sunny. All wrapped up with just my face sticking out.

ginny Sat 13-Mar-21 08:15:34

Good Morning. Dull but dry outside and the wind has dropped a bit.

Our unusual Saturday morning local food shop has been moved to this afternoon as DD1 is joining me for a walk this morning. Last saw her ( in the flesh) for a couple of minutes 6 weeks ago. Will be lovely to have a proper chat and hopefully a coffee sat at opposite ends of a bench . Very exciting.

Talk with Doctor yesterday revealed some good news and other things are being sorted.
Hope all others with health problems will find some relief.

I know where my ?will be today so hope you all find yours.

Jaxjacky Sat 13-Mar-21 08:16:28

Good morning all from a blustery S Hants, cloud/sun/cloud.. the odd shower is forecast. Good your monitor has been fitted Mick, five days will pass quickly. Scentia a diagnosis answers some questions for you, hopefully medication stabilises it quickly. And Gagagran good news your husband is home, nothing like it.
No huge plans today, DH will nip out for my weekly treat of a newspaper in a minute. The ground is too wet for an allotment visit, we have a Tesco delivery this afternoon, cottage pie to make for tonight. Welcome to your new home Pitt, hope the move was uneventful.
Fingers crossed all procedures/jabs are swift and successful, have a good day all.

BlueSapphire Sat 13-Mar-21 08:18:39

Good morning from a bright but blustery East Northants at DD's. Still tucked up in a nice warm bed, and have just heard the dogs getting excited, so know that someone is about downstairs, so will venture down for my mug of tea soon.

Had a successful first go with Zoom yesterday, and was able to join my DB at his recommissioning service. It was very nicely done, and we were able to sing along with the hymns and join in with the prayers as they put the order of service up on the screen.

It will be a rugby day for us, Six Nations, and more importantly Northampton Saints playing Sale this afternoon. I have remembered my lucky socks and have also brought my Saints shirt to wear! Fingers crossed! How we miss going to the ground and sitting in 'our' seats.

Thoughts with all those today who have worries and cares; hope that we all find some light somewhere in these difficult times.

Gingster Sat 13-Mar-21 08:18:41

Good morning all and it’s still windy here in Essex. Yesterday I had a lovely walk over the downs with an old friend. As I got to her house the heavens opened, so we sat in her conservatory and had a coffee until the weather cleared. After our long walk we had a coffee and pastry from the cafe and sat on a bench, overlooking the estuary. So good to chat.

Bellasnanna try not to worry too much. I’m sure all will go well . It’s horrid to feel anxious . And Dragonfly I’m glad your worries have eased.

Will read the papers and do the puzzles today. Nothing else on the agenda though.

Have a peaceful day everyone ??

grandmajet Sat 13-Mar-21 08:32:46

Good morning from a rather damp nottinghamshire, where I’m sitting in bed with a cup of tea - one of my favourite things to do! - reading your morning news.
Come on, little Pinchy, keep drinking the milk!
I know how you are feeling SeconhandRose, I’ve been on chemo for much of the past eighteen months and sometimes just the thought of moving is exhausting in itself, and as for having a shower....... Other times I feel almost normal.
I’m hoping for feeling well this weekend as I want to clean the bathroom and wash the kitchen floor properly as I found a sticky bit with my foot yesterday. I’ll have my little daily walk whatever the weather.
I’m so glad your move went well Pittcity - now for the mammoth unpack.
It must be so nice for your husband to be home Gagagran, and for you to have him in your care.
Wishing you all a good day today.

Ashcombe Sat 13-Mar-21 08:33:52

After a poor night, I’m late on parade today from a sunny Torbay, following yet another breezy night. Thank you for noticing my absence from being an early poster, Susan56!

So good to read everyone's plans for the day. Scentia that is so kind of you to make your DD the centre of Mothering Sunday! Mick I'm sure you’ll cope ok with the monitor and Bellasnana: I’m sure you’ll feel better once you’re at the hospital. The worry can be worse than the reality. Happy news that your DH is home, Gagagran!?

Beechnut: my bowel screening kit also came this week and I was pleased to use and dispatch it within 24 hours! Glad Iris has adjusted to the new teacher, grandMattie and hope those “poor parents” soon do likewise over the school run!! Life can be tough ..... ! ?

What a kind teacher your DGS has, NanKate! Pinchy sounds like a character and I was fascinated to read about the milk machine. Please take care of yourself, sheepandcattle so you don’t wear yourself out.

Glad your move went well, Pittcity! Enjoy your new abode! Love the name “fingoes”, Dwmxwg! ?I hope you enjoy Brodie Castle, brook2704. DH has a Scots friend in France who has a son called Brodie.

It’s good to have you back, Dragonfly46. Happy walking with DD1, ginny.

I’ve ordered a couple of dresses in George's sale so I'll collect those after my local shopping is done,

Thinking of Marydoll and others who are missing. Happy weekend, everyone! ?

Stilllearning Sat 13-Mar-21 08:34:32

Morning from a sunny at the moment S Lanarkshire, but according to the forecast this won’t last.
About to make an early trip to the supermarket for a couple of bits and pieces and some cash to pay for a some gift bags filled with lovely biscuits which are made in the town, and are being sold for charity. The biscuit company are very good to the local community and as quite a few shops have closed over the past year, we are going to need all the involvement and expertise of local businesses to help our high street recover and renew.
Lovely flowers arrived yesterday from two DDs, (no delivery slots left for today evidently). As I am firmly in the Flowers Vase Water Plonk camp, described by someone the other day, I always feel slightly guilty that I don’t do justice to their beauty, but I very much appreciate the love they express.
Wishing everyone a good day and remembering all those needing a hug. Sharing my ??.

Marydoll Sat 13-Mar-21 08:42:31

Good morning all from Glasgow, where the weather is/has been exactly as Kalu describes.
Dragonfly, I'm absolutely delighted to see you posting again! It was only yesterday, I was thinking of you. ?

Nothing much to report today, except that the fairy doors are still not finished. I cannot find the glittery paint anywhere. ? The last time I used it was with Dollie.
I couldn't find time to look for it properly, as a Windows10 update has totally b**gered up DH's PC and I spent hours trying to fix it.
As usual, he decided to fix it himself and by the time I found out, he had made it ten times worse. ?
Asking him for his Microsoft password, he offered me at least half a dozen, none of which worked. I reset it, checked the new password on my PC, all working, so far so good. Then I tried it on DH's , blooming new password wouldn't work.
Sad geek that I am, I love to get my teeth into something like that, I was not prepared to admit defeat! ?

Eventually I phoned DS2, the guru, who works in IT.
DS: Mum I'm working!. Me: Son, your father is driving me crazy! Help!!!
It turns out that DS2 had changed the settings, when he rebuilt the PC, months ago and we needed to use the password he changed, before I could use the new one. ?
After all that palaver, the PC is still not working, so back to the drawing board today.
SIL is also an IT guru, but there is some good natured rivalry between SIL and DS2, to I'm reluctant to offend DS2 by asking him! ?

I'm expecting a visit from DD and SIL today, instead of tomorrow for Mother's Day. They are going to try and do a bit of work in the garden, as it has become too taxing for me at the moment.
I have solar lights on the trees which no longer work, so will ask them to replace them. Climbing trees ladders is no longer an option for me! ?

Harri, as CEV, I was also anxious about my recent hospital visits, but was most impressed with the measures in place. However, DH was not allowed inside with me, so had some long waits in the car.
Bellasnanna, an anxious time for you and Scentia, you must be relieved to have a diagnosis at last. ? Pitcity, wishing you every happiness in your new home.

I'm always afraid I miss people out, so I'm sending hugs to all my lovely GN friends.
Enjoy your Saturday.

grandMattie Sat 13-Mar-21 08:56:37

Ash, the school run problem is that the starts are staggered. DGD1 is in Y6 and Iris in Y3, so they have to wait nearly an hour to deliver or pick up the two girls.

Urmstongran Sat 13-Mar-21 08:59:42

Good morning everyone from a very wet south Manchester where gusts of wind drive the rain every now and again, battering it against the windows. Too horrid for Himself and the boy wonder (9) to go on their Saturday morning bike ride. Such a shame. If it stops later they could go, depending how wet it is.

Himself will make a huge pan of his signature dish, chilli, (with red wine, mushrooms and garlic) later. Enough for Sunday lunch tomorrow with my stepfather and take some over to our little family - it’s Mother’s Day and our daughter suggested it so that neither she nor I have to cook tomorrow! Excellent prompt.

Glad your blood test revealed an eminently treatable condition Scentia you will feel so much better soon on your daily thyroxine I expect. Enjoy your croissant Hiraeth! A nice weekend treat. Sorry to hear how super anxious you’re feeling Bellasnana. I have problems with health anxiety and understand totally how it sucks the joy from a day and the jitters you experience. Your test isn’t long off now, and as NanKate suggests, the tennis final might help distract you for a few hours. So you’ve moved now Pittcity! Did you sleep well in your new place? Everything seems so different at first - from a shower to shopping! Great news about your jabs a great omen for this new chapter in your life.

Hope Saturday is good to us all. Excellent news Gagagran that your husband is home for private nursing care. And you’d arranged a rainbow welcome too! Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Grandmabatty Sat 13-Mar-21 09:02:20

Good morning all. I'm still in bed so I have no idea what the weather is like in Polmont. I have some side effects of the vaccine from yesterday so I'm staying put. Have a good day all.

Anniebach Sat 13-Mar-21 09:04:51

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Urmstongran Sat 13-Mar-21 09:05:35

Oh, ps. Sorry, I meant to say WELCOME BACK Dragonfly! You’ve been missed.
?

Welcome to you SecondhandRose ? it’s lovely to have you join us. I expect having a nice garden adds extra value to your house?
???

GrannyGravy13 Sat 13-Mar-21 09:17:26

Hi SecondhandRose there are a few of us from Essex on here, welcome ?

EkwaNimitee Sat 13-Mar-21 09:22:20

Good morning, Mick and everyone from a Cumbrian coast that is brilliantly sunny, so far. It can be a bit tedious at times wearing that heart monitor for several days, Mick, but it will be worthwhile especially if the results set your mind at rest. Good to know what's going on rather than worrying about what might be.
I'm having to pace myself today due to ongoing unwellness. I'd really like to be outside mowing the lawn etc, I am definitely not an inside person even though I have plenty to occupy myself.
I've had some good news...a phone call yesterday giving me a completion date for my new home. It will be all mine by the end of the month..Having felt in limbo all winter, now I shall be in frantic mode rounding up movers, organising new blinds and furniture etc and dealing with all the bureaucracy involved. Not to mention paying out the largest sum of money I've ever had to pay out and praying it gets into the right account! The last time a house was bought, there were two of us and my late DH was a very efficient and capable organiser. I had to deter my DS1 from rushing up to help, he was quite prepared to pay a fine. He may be in his fifties but mother can still tell him off!
The best of days to you all.

Greyduster Sat 13-Mar-21 09:27:05

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Mick glad your monitor fitting went well yesterday. DH wore one a couple of years ago for two weeks as part of a Biobank trial. Cool and grey again in South Yorkshire. More rain expected so another day in, which is bad news because I have put myself on a diet and when we can’t go out, all I want to do is eat! DH doesn’t help. He offers me all kinds of verbal moral support and then eats hot cross buns in front of me!
Pitt glad your move went well and I hope it’s a happy place for you!
Sheep I hope you can now look forward to moving down a gear!
Have a good day, folks.

Auntieflo Sat 13-Mar-21 09:33:06

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. It started off sunny and has now clouded over.
I wrote a post yesterday and was half way through, then must have inadvertently and I lost it all. Physically and metaphorically. ?
So, it appears that I also missed some of the goings on here.
To all who have problems, stresses and worries, I send a hug and best wishes in the hope you may all feel better soon.
Bella and Scentia ??? for you, and lovely news that MrGagagran is home
Dragonfly. Welcome back.
We had a lovely lady come and look at our garden and she has slotted us in for a regular weed and tidy up, relief at the thought that we will not have to struggle any more.
I have also been given the dates for when I begin my treatment. At the end of this month.....

I have an ISA maturing at the end if the month, so went on line and tried to put in the decision to close the account. Then, I got fronted with a screen message that said I would be liable for a penalty!!?? This morning I managed to speak to a nice young man, who told me I could only do this the day before maturity. Why doesn't it make it clearer on- line? Rant over.

We are going to see DD and SIL later on, they are our bubble, and see what they have been doing in their sitting room. At least they will now have more than camping chairs to sit on, and a lovely new fireplace.
Also spoke to both sons yesterday, lovely.
Off to sort myself out now
Apologies for rambling. Have a good day one and all.

GrannySomerset Sat 13-Mar-21 09:38:01

After a ferociously wild night the rain at least has stopped and if and when I summon up the energy to get going I need to change the beds. Or I could do it tomorrow. Have got DH up and more or less sorted out (still need to wield the razor) but because there is rugby this afternoon he was keen to get the day started. Hope England play better or there will be a big black cloud over the house.

Delighted the Wiltshire ladies have nearly finished keeping sheep up at night and hope she recovers soon, and that our various unwell or worried posters have a better day, particularly Marydoll and Mr Gagagran.
