Good Morning Everyone,
Its light and another dry and bright start to the day here in Brackley .
Looking outside its full of the signs of spring , even the trees are showing budding.
Today , my penultimate day of wearing my ECG mentor.
A little bit of exercise with it on such as housework and do a small shop , before settling down and watching cycling on TV .
Take Care,
Mick

If there's any of your cake left, GrandMattie, I'll have some, please.
So glad your Dental is over (for the time being Marydoll)
with a bit of luck you'll have finished with your procedures Bella, hopefully nothing taxing found.
Pittcity we moved 5 years ago and I would love to move my bedroom round for the 5th time, but haven't the energy.
That's dreadful having to login to 2 funerals, Baubles
Catch up tomorrow!!

Grandmafrench Mon 15-Mar-21 14:57:07

Wow.....definitely too many cakes and talk of fun and games today. Ladies - hope you've got on with all things domestic!!

You brought a tear to my eye, Ellan. What a lovely thing for your StepD to say to you. Worth everything.

Taichinan I feel like saying "Oh, aren't you lovely! And there's me imagining that you were a tall, dark haired lady".....but I won't, of course, because that's a bit rude!
Meals on Wheels could definitely use you.

With that, I'm about to have a piece of cake with my tea!
Santé, dear people! ☕️

LauraNorder Mon 15-Mar-21 13:50:06

Happy birthday Stillearning ?, hope it’s a good’un.
Well done Marydoll, you got through it and with sense of humour intact.

Urmstongran Mon 15-Mar-21 13:32:43

That cake looks delicious grandMattie! I love raspberries.
Many happy returns of the day to you Stilllearning. ??

Glad your ordeal at the dentist is behind you Marydoll I hope he gave you a sticker badge for being brave.

^ Good times for me today?, I'm amending my will ?. I'm not cutting someone out, I'm adding someone in ?^ oh Cherry I thought we’d agreed to keep this just between ourselves?

dustyangel Mon 15-Mar-21 13:13:04

I meant to say Happy Birthday to stillearning? your birthday is a day before DH’s! I wonder if I can remember next year. Let’s hope it’s a better year for us all.

Marydoll Mon 15-Mar-21 12:38:29

Back again, having survived my hour long plus appointment. It wasn't the most pleasant of experiences and I'm pretty shattered, but the dentist managed to finish all the work. The worst part was the water running down my cleavage and the itchy nose!!! No further appointment required.
The bad news, the dentist isn't sure it will last, I shall have to be very careful, my mouth is not in good shape.

Happy birthday, Stilllearning, I hope you have the best day possible in the circumstances. ???

Auntieflo Mon 15-Mar-21 12:25:03

Late again to the party! Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
Thinking of Bellasnana, Marydoll, Corner, Gagagran and others undergoing procedures or difficulties today.

I had to pop out to collect my prescriptions, and am now seriously considering having them delivered.

The weather is fine at the moment, but I am not sure whether to chance the washing out on the line.
Grandmattie, your cake looks so nice and moreish.
Hoping all is well with the lambs and their mums Sheepandcattle.
I will have a coffee and go back and peruse properly now.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning/afternoon from West Sussex. Gentle breeze and sunny though quite a bit of cloud but definitely better than last week.

Lovely to hear of all the Mother’s Day delights yesterday. I tell my DDs not to send me anything but I did get a lovely Jacquie Lawson e-card from DD2 - butterflies (no flamingos). I love your “flypast” Grandmafrench.

Too many cakes on here this morning Grandmattie and Hiraeth - I have got to lose a few lockdown pounds ?. Still these home-made ones are healthy, right?

Hope all goes well for you Bellasnana. I was due to have a colonoscopy last summer - my third since having polyps removed a few years ago. I expect it will take them a long time to catch up and there are so many people in much greater need waiting for tests and treatment.

I have put off finishing the degreasing of my cooker hood all morning and now the new filter has arrived in the post so no more excuses!

Taichinan Mon 15-Mar-21 12:04:44

Grandmattie, when you're cutting it up, I'm also in the queue (I love that word!!) for a slice of that scrumplicious-looking cake! ?️

EkwaNimitee Mon 15-Mar-21 11:50:07

Oh grandMattie! Please don’t torment us with photos of lovely cakes!

EllanVannin Mon 15-Mar-21 11:47:31

Muse your son will get some financial support especially if he goes to see his GP explaining his case. Hope something is worked out. x

muse Mon 15-Mar-21 11:42:31

Good Morning. Late posting today. Had lots to read on the Allotment & Garden website I follow. Getting advice about nematodes. My slug battle continues.

Cloudy Cornwall day ahead. Wood arriving today for the replacement raised beds. Need to get them sawn up ready for Mark next Monday.

Text sent to son. He's feeling better now he's made his mind up to give his notice in. It's the right decision in one respect (his health) but not in the other (no earnings or savings). I can support him with words but not financially.

Good wishes and praise from me to all of you. Get through your day safely with results you hope for.

EllanVannin Mon 15-Mar-21 11:42:19

Thoughts with you at the dentist Marydoll x You'll be okay.

EllanVannin Mon 15-Mar-21 11:39:20

A chunk piece of that cake would go down a treat with my coffee just now GrandMattie. smile

EllanVannin Mon 15-Mar-21 11:37:08

Love the " meals on wheels " Taichinan grin That's one way.

dustyangel Mon 15-Mar-21 11:26:07

Good Morning everyone. Grand Mattie that cake looks delicious. All unicorn photos (but it seems not the others) have too many pixels, must be unicorn magic.

A lovely sunny day here the local paper says it will stay fine for a while. At the same time says that the reservoirs are full and we should have enough water for the next two years. I’m not surprised.

hollysteers Mon 15-Mar-21 11:21:03

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast. Well that’s gone by quickly Mick! You will be glad to be rid of the monitor. Last night took myself on a virtual favourite railway steam trip. Isn’t YouTube amazing!
Time to be outside today so I have brushed the front path and have a little pile of garden ornaments I’m not sure whether to chuck or regroup artistically. I hate throwing things away. Exercises done and puffed.
Will spend time in the sun to lighten this home dye, I’ve certainly saved money this past year.
Hope everyone has a nice day and I will return to read all your entries later, if I stay here I will be tempted by other discussions.

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. Sunny but still cold.
A df was going to share a coffee in my garden but she's just phoned to say her DH was very poorly so taken into hospital yesterday and she isn't in the mood.
Can you save a piece of that raspberry cake for me please grandMattie
I bet there's none left

Happy Birthday stilllearning

I hope the dentist is over quickly and painlessly Marydoll

Good wishes to Bellasnana and corner
and of course for gagagran

Nice to see Dragonfly posting. Hi!!
An amazing day for you Taichinan. Wonderful.
I also watched Countryfile and thought of "our" farmer.

Have the best day everyone.

Nannagarra Mon 15-Mar-21 10:58:18

Much respect for the exceedingly brave Gaga and Marydoll.
Happy birthday Still.

Good Morning All x Happy Birthday Stilllearning flowers

A lovely sunny start to the day, which makes all the difference in the world for lifting the spirits.
Had a lovely day yesterday, heard from D in Oz, then D here called in the afternoon with all sorts of goodies---flowers, 2 boxes of choc. gingers ( my favourite ) money inside my card and a couple of scratch cards ( won £2 ) .

I'd enjoyed a fab dinner too-Aberdeen Angus beef, roast pots and the most gorgeous melt in the mouth Spring cabbage. All courtesy of M&S.

Early evening stepD rang me which was nice so we spoke for over an hour and a half. I had to have a cup of tea after that as my mouth had dried up grin At 71 she said to me that it was the best time in her life when I came along----she was 9 at the time and had been doing the ironing. My late H had custody of the children after his divorce as their mother " didn't want them !"
Those words from SD were the best Mothers Day present anyone could have. We're more like sisters but she has the greatest respect for me.

D was telling me that she had a card through the post from Ruby-Lou, aww., who'll be driven from Durham on Saturday to stay until Sunday early evening so all are looking forward to that. I hope I can see her if only through the window.

A mixture of joy and sorrow when the lambs go to pastures new Sheepandcattle I'd be no good at that and would be a blubbering mess but someone has to do it to keep up the breeding programme. Pinchy sounds as though he's doing well, he could do with a couple of splints bless him. You do so well with what farming entails though, it's no picnic at times. Interesting to learn about the nitty-gritty side of lambing.

Jaxjacky I have to do home BP testing---when I think on as when it was taken by the nurse in January, it was through the roof, but she knows how beside myself I get and until I see her next month I can show her that it's more or less normal at home. Bottom figure is invariably on the low side which indicates that the heart isn't under pressure in pushing the blood around the system. That's the important number.

I'm thinking of those of you who are/will be undergoing tests etc.and praying the outcome won't be as bad as anticipated. xx.
Anyone else not feeling particularly " with it " I hope things buck up for you.

Have as good a day as you can and stay safe everyone.

Feelingmyage55 Mon 15-Mar-21 10:36:59

Good morning from a bright, sunny north of Scotland and no wind. I so enjoyed speaking to both my adult children yesterday. My son is so busy that I appreciate his time when he makes a long phone call, rather than checking in.
Ashcombe. The blanket is gorgeous but the most important part is al the loving time she has put into it. An item to treasure.
Bellasnana. wishing you well in both senses of the phrase.
Dxwm ... Cant remember it all sorry. What about a WiFi camera in a bird box for your birdwatcher?
Best wishes to all.

Blossoming Mon 15-Mar-21 10:32:03

Good morning all, it’s much brighter here today but I’m not planning on going out. Too much to do and feeling a bit wobbly. Best wishes to everyone.

Jaxjacky Mon 15-Mar-21 10:16:16

Happy Birthday Stilllearning have a wonderful day ???
Marydoll ?dentist is swift and successful.
There’s me having a ridiculous wobble earlier over a BP machine when so many others here are absolute heroes every day and night; I admire you all and send strength and hugs.

Taichinan Mon 15-Mar-21 10:11:44

I forgot to mention - I too was thinking of sheepandcattle as I watched Countryfile last night. And Adam has an army of helpers! My admiration knows no bounds sheep!
