Good Morning Everyone,
Its another twilight start here in Brackley this morning but remains dry.
Yesterdays trip out went OK , called in the bakery shop I use when there cafe is open and got some Hot X buns .
Did a small shop in Sainsburys , anyway noticed the lack of new potatoes on the shelves ,normally by now we would have Jerseys royals on the shelves but nothing yet .
I brought myself a new paper shredder , people were out as seats in the town centre were busy .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from an overcast but warm Black Country.

Such a glorious day yesterday, but I think we have been lulled into a false sense of security. It was so hot on our walk yesterday. Plenty of traffic on the road, hard to believe we are still in a lockdown.

MrJan is off on a bike ride with his cycling club this morning, as a group of 6 is now allowed. So I will tootle over and have a walk with Mum.

Lovely holiday park Ashcome it was fortunate you arived when you did. We plan to be in the Torquay area at some point this year in our caravan. Our first trip will be to Lyme Regis in May.

Love and best wishes to all of you struggling flowers

Good morning from Shropshire where another sunny day is forecast.

Your holiday park look lovely Ash and the cake delicious mattie.DH isn’t a fan of simple cake so I don’t feel I can make one knowing I would have to eat the whole lot!I wonder if M and S do individual slices?

Glad things are looking hopeful for Bogdon?and I love that brave little Iris has a cow named after her?

DGS enjoyed his Easter egg hunt yesterday. He probably ate a bit more chocolate than he should have done, he kept saying just one more!Luckily they were only small hollow eggs.Under the new rules we were able to stay and have tea in the garden when DD and SIL came home which was lovely.

Lawns and laundry today then hopefully a quiet afternoon reading.

Hoping that Cherry, Mary and Auntieflo are all feeling better.

Have a good day all and hope all medical appointments go well.Thinking of all with sadness, illness and worries??

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another warm day in the offing, not as warm as yesterday.
A large mirror is being delivered for above our fireplace any minute now and then I'm off on the epic 5 minute walk to the first Wednesday meetup for ages!! We're taking our deckchairs and sitting in groups of 6 in the park. There'll be plenty to chat about.
This afternoon I'll be DHs assistant while he attempts to hang the mirror. He will be too impatient to wait for DS to come home. I apologise about the language in advance to any of our neighbours!!

Much love to all x

Lins1066 Wed 31-Mar-21 08:33:43

Good morning Mick and all from a warm S Welsh coast. What a glorious day yesterday, dried loads of washing on the line. Mr Lins spent the day in the garden laying new lawn turf. There is a family of blue tits in a nesting box at the side of the shed, lovely to see and hear them.
What a beautiful holiday home Ash.
Glad that Bogdon is on the mend for you sheep.
Hope Cherry, Mary and Auntyflo are feeling better.
Take care everyone.

Good morning all. It is 10° and wispy clouds in Polmont. I think it's to stay dry here, unlike you in Inverness Brooke. Yesterday was a busy day with dgs. A trip to the park for an hour and a half, much playing in the sand, mud, swings etc and then a walk to see ducks. Next time I'll take something to feed them. Then water play in the garden in the afternoon.
Today is child free but still busy. I'll visit mum then I'm visiting my oldest friend for garden coffee. In the afternoon I have a WhatsApp chat with friends. It has been a regular thing over the lock down and has been something to look forward to. It will be nice when we can meet up again. I have the inside windows to clean as the living room window is covered in wee hand prints. The window cleaner was round yesterday and did the outside so that's my monthly prompt.
Sheepandcattle that's good news about the bull. Hopefully that'll sort him out and he'll be able to get down to business. Urmstongran scotch is whisky, Irish is whiskey but I'd happily drink either! One of favourite winter drinks is Jamieson's whiskey with green ginger wine.
Right, time for second cup of coffee then a shower. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Wed 31-Mar-21 08:42:20

Happy birthday to Gelisajams. Have a lovely day.

Marydoll Wed 31-Mar-21 08:43:18

Good morning all from Glasgow. I think the highest temperature we had here yesterday was 11°C, no heatwave here! I must admit to being quite envious. ?

Seeing all the crowds out and about, made me wonder if people were throwing caution to the wind and behaving as if Covid was gone, not observing social distancing and very few masks to be seen. Many won't have been vaccinated yet, even one vaccination isn't enough.

Happy birthday to Gelisjams, have I got that right? ????*Ashcombe*, what a disaster for you, but probable fortuitous that you went to check. You must be so worried about your family at present Sar, but thank goodness your DH is being seen so quickly.
Lovely cake, GM, I will need to make hot cross buns on Friday, Tesco have run out!!! My hot cross buns were a firm, family favourite, but recently it has been taken too much of an effort to make them!

Once again I have no tales to tell, (probably a relief to some readers ?), as I spent yesterday in bed. I was forced to make a decision yesterday, which I have been putting off for ages. I came clean to my children and friends about my failing heart and prognosis.
My SIL appeared unexpectedly with my new meds. The lovely man took it upon himself to go to the pharmacy and chase them up .
MrMD was in the garden, digging up shrubs in preparation for my raised veggie beds, and didn't hear them, ( what a surprise ?) so I had to get out of bed and answer the door, as DH had left the key in the lock SIL he couldn't get in! I think SIL got a bit of a shock, when he saw how unwell I was!

I then got messages from my dear friends across the road, saying I hadn't been seen for ages. ( It's so easy to cover up by text!) I realised I was tired of covering up, making excuses and saying I was fine, so I told the truth!
The Ebay Queen, still hasn't quite got it, but my other friend did! It was such hard thing to do. We have been pals for thirty five years and know each other so well.

To cap it all, DS2 phoned to ask us to sit in the garden of his new house on Friday, to feast on pizza from his new outdoor oven (with beer for DH). I had to admit I was too unwell to come. ?
He is very sensitive and I know he will say nothing about it, but will be doing a lot of mulling this over in his head.

Today will be a non day again, but if I feel up to it, I may sit in the garden for half an hour and supervise MrMD. I have become a bit carried away with putting solar lights in the garden, it looks very much like Blackpool illuminations. It may be becoming a bit tacky, methinks! A couple aren't working, to I shall investigate today. I will try and take a photo tonight to illustrate my point! ?

I have heard recently from a few, regular posters, who have stopped posting, because GN isn't the same as it used to be. Too many afraid to post for various reasons. I'm sorry to say, I have to agree. This lovely thread is one of the very few I now post on.?
Could I please urge you to come back, we need you and your measured posts and and sense of humour. !

Wishing you all, a pleasant day and the strength to meet whatever life throws at you today. Auntieflo, I hope you aren't suffering too many side effects, this morning ?

PS, Kalu, glad to hear your knee is improving. No more jigging! I shall be watching with my long range telescope!?

Grandmajean Wed 31-Mar-21 08:43:35

Good morning all from another fine day here in Essex.

I had a lovely afternoon in my friends garden yesterday surrounded by Daffoldils. Beautiful!

I’m dog walking with one of my old pals this morning and will finish off with a coffee in her garden. These are the things I’ve missed so much. Simple pleasures.

Your holiday home looks lovely Ash - so peaceful and relaxing! I hope the roadworks are finished by the time you are able to go and stay.

I do hope Bogdon recovers and does his job Sheep. You have a very busy day ahead of you. I don’t know how you fit it all in. Hope all goes well for you. ?.

Have a good day all ?

Good morning Mick, morning all from sunny South Lanarkshire. We’re not having the fabulous weather many of you are but yesterday was very pleasant

So lovely to hear of people out and about and seeing different places and people, it’ll soon be our turn

Good to hear that you got caught up with the maintenance of your holiday home Ashcombe, hoping it’s not too long till you can use it.

Good morning from North Yorkshire where it is another lovely sunny day.
I painted a small fence yesterday then edged and cut both lawns.
I am doing a zoom interview this morning for a new trustee for the charity.
After that I am off to the arboretum. Today is day 31 of my 10,000 steps a day for cancer research! Phew!
Later on I have a man coming to measure up for a new fireplace. I want something simple and modern.
Happy birthday Gelisajams
Have a good day everyone. Stay safe.

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Light cloud in Suffolk so far but we expect another lovely day.
Happy Birthday Geliajams and our DGD is 5 today too Gwen. They had a little tea party and lots of presents on Saturday, thinking they were still at school. Now we are having a picnic since the weather is good. I was going to pressure wash the patio. That’ll be tomorrow then.
So sorry to hear you are more unwell Marydoll - yesterday must have been difficult. Enjoy directing your under gardener today.
Good news about the bull S&C - I hope this is the cause of his problems.
Well, number 5 biscuits to bake and sausage rolls so off I go.
I hope the day is kind to you all.
