Good evening to the kitchen. I am sorry to hear that you are still poorly soop. Don’t let this go on too long before you seek medical advice.
We have been gardening today and we are both a bit past our best now! I have reached the point where there are too many plants for the greenhouse. I am waiting for warmer nights before I can plant everything out.
Lovely buffet - just what I needed for supper.sleep tight x

tanith Thu 29-Apr-21 07:45:25

Good morning Kitcheners I thought would take a peek at the new kitchen, love those stunning cushions so colourful. Had my second jab on Monday thankful to all the volunteers running a very efficient ship I was in and out in 15 mins (then sat in car park for 15) and it was very busy. I hope those of you are not feeling good will soon improve, I’m afraid I lose track when I don’t read all the posts each day apologies.
Life goes on much the same even though things are opening up I don’t feel the need to go out clothes shopping, eating out and visiting all and sundry yet hopefully coffee with friends will be possible soon. I hope all have a good day I will try to keep up.

Charleygirl5 Thu 29-Apr-21 07:55:58

tanith I feel the same way-clothes will have to wait and my bank sighs with relief. I also would fancy a cup of coffee sitting down comfortably indoors where I am warm, having a chat with friends. Soon I hope.

It is 2C here today and nearly May. Has spring passed me by?

soop I do think you are in need of a doctor- please oblige me if not yourself. Fern needs you fit again. I do appreciate the buggerations are creeping up again, especially the drop bot but surely something could be done about that? A second opinion maybe?
TOYA

cornergran Thu 29-Apr-21 09:08:35

Morning All. Goodness, had no idea a new kitchen was so imminent. Very comfortable it is too.

Agree, sitting outside at the moment isn’t always fun. We had over an hour outside with our friend on Tuesday and froze. Also agree medical attention sounds to be overdue soop, we do worry about you.

Wonderful idea with the butterflies n&g. I love them. Our conservatory is the butterfly room according to our granddaughters. When much younger and bickering they were told to cooperate and count butterflies together. It usually restored peace. Shame I don’t have a similar magic wand for teenager bickering. grin.

Best get moving, plan to make some calls to track down a charity shop or two accepting donations then venture forth. Sun is shining, still cold, it seems the sea breezes are in training to be gale force.

TOYA.

soop Thu 29-Apr-21 12:33:38

Good afternoon darling peoples. Once again, the sun is shining.

Now have an appointment for bloods to be taken on Tuesday next. Zoledronic Acid infusion Thursday next. Hair do on Tuesday next. I can hardly contain my excitement. wink

Still feeling a trifle nauseous. Could be the antibiotics. I've a bucket close by...just in case. hmm

I need to complete the wee portrait of Maw's beloved Hattie. I would like to get it posted tomorrow.

Away to have a little light lunch. I shall return a little later.

Bellanonna Thu 29-Apr-21 13:28:39

soop, you’re always so positive! I do hope the nausea goes soon along with the UTI.

I’m glad you’ve arranged to have bloods taken.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 29-Apr-21 14:02:55

It’s flipping freezing here in S E Essex ?☁️?

My plans were scuppered when my cleaners cancelled for the second day in a row ??. I have just finished cleaning from top to bottom, only kitchen/diner, hall and laundry floors to wash, but they can wait until after the school run (GS insists on popping in before and after school every day regardless of who picks him up, our house is next door but one to his school)

Soop I do hope the nausea passes soon, it could be the antibiotics, sometimes our bodies just say NO!

Just realised that it’s a Bank Holiday weekend, where has the year gone?

soop Thu 29-Apr-21 14:43:41

Hello, my lovelies. I've emailed Maw as I would like her address confirmed for posting of Hattie's wee portrait. If any of you can confirm her present address, please P.M. me. I believe that she still lives N.P. Thank you. xxx

annodomini Thu 29-Apr-21 15:16:00

soop, I suspected that it might be the antibiotic that was making you nauseous. There's one - I can't remember its name - that nearly laid me out. I hope they don't take too much blood. I got rid of three vials on Monday. The local hospital's rheumy dept seems to have given up on me so I haven't had a Zolendronic infusion for at least two years. I have given up caring! I know Maw lives somewhere near Milton Keynes, but that would be a bit too vague for your purpose. I hope you will post your picture of Hattie on here after you've sent it to her.

Yiayia4 Thu 29-Apr-21 15:21:31

It’s freezing here also GG.We are sorting our tourer out for a few days away tomorrow, glad we have a good heating system!
We are going to Chichester about an hour away so an easy drive.I plan on going to Gunwarf Quays for some retail therapy and lunch?
Sorry your still feeling poorly Soop antibiotics do make you feel rubbish rest up we all care about you?

Jaxjacky Thu 29-Apr-21 15:44:24

Probably the antibees soop friend of mine had his changed for the same reaction, hope you’ve not got too many left and they do the job.
Have fun in Chichester Yia not far from us, last went there in 2019 for a play and stayed over. I’m not a shopper, been to GQ once, only 30 minutes away, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, bit nippy at the moment by the sea.
After the ho hah a few weeks ago with trying to get my nose cauterised to stop bleeds and the GP call back saying no, I’ve just had a referral letter through. Appointment made online for June, hurrah.
I’ll catch up later x

dragonfly46 Thu 29-Apr-21 16:06:19

I hope you feel better soon soop and the AB's kick in.
I only have Maw's email so cannot help you. I am sure she will get back to you.

Took Dexter in for his pre-op today and it made it real that he is going under the knife on Tuesday. I am beginning to get nervous.

I don't have infusions as I take a tablet every day which makes it easier in some ways.

I did post a message last night but it seems to have disappeared.

Susan56 Thu 29-Apr-21 16:38:11

Oh soop, some antibiotics do make you feel rubbish so I hope they have done the job they were meant to do and that you have nearly finished the course and will soon be feeling better?

We have just come back from having our second vaccination. In the short time we were in the hospital the heavens opened so no watering the veg patch tonight?

It’s chilly here too.The central heating is back on?

Enjoy your break Yia and your retail therapy.

TOYA and sending love to the Panaches.x

NanaandGrampy Thu 29-Apr-21 16:49:14

Evening all,

Ixion this might be a pattern you could use www.knitting-bee.com/free-knitting-patterns/free-knitted-toy-patterns/large-blue-butterfly-knitting-pattern-free.

Puzzler I can see a string of butterflies across the kitchen , I'll see what I can do ;-)

I think you are wise to take it easy* Soop* . I shall pop a butterfly in the post for you to cheer you up. I hope by this evening the antibiotics have kicked in and you feel a little better.

I have spent a large part of the day in research. Its time to change our car and they no longer make the model we're driving. Of course NOTHING shapes up to what we have already so its likely to be a slog to find one that we want instead. A proper first world issue eh?

I am off for a mammogram tomorrow. I am convinced if men had breasts then they would have found a better way of doing things than squishing you painfully between two metal plates while twisted to one side and standing on tippy toes :-)

Happy evening all x

Yiayia4 Thu 29-Apr-21 16:54:04

To be honest D.H loves to browse round the shops more than I do most unusual I know!! I get tired and end up finding a seat and a coffee?

NanaandGrampy Thu 29-Apr-21 16:55:59

I wrote my reply then realised I'd missed out a whole page of previous posts!!

oh i do love Gunwharf Quays Yiayia , I'm a Pompey girl so know it well. Enjoy !!

kittylester Thu 29-Apr-21 17:37:00

In his wisdom, my go decided some different ABs would be better for one of my UTIs. I have never felt so I'll and had to carry the 'sick bowl' around with me. When I talked to him he nonchalantly said 'oh, they make lots of people sick!! No flipping good if they reappear before they have had chance to work soop.

Maw has been collecting her new dog today but I expect she will message you later

soop Thu 29-Apr-21 17:44:23

Ta dah! Maw has responded to my email. I shall now prepare the portrait for posting. I have taken a photo. I shall share with you lovely lot once Maw has seen it. Being an almost all black doggie, Hattie was a tricky subject. I'm so pleased that I finally managed to do something acceptable for Maw.

N&G If men had to put their dangly bit in between the two plates...shock wink

dragonfly We are all rooting for dear Dexter.
I also need to take a tablet - Letrozole, every day for the next ten years. It prevents my body from manufacturing the female hormone that triggered my breast cancer.

anno That's not good enough. Surely you need the infusion every six months. The consultant phoned early this morning to enquire how I was feeling. What does one say? 'Dealing with things', is about all I could say without boring the pants off her.

Stay cosy, dear Kitcheners. There is a certain unseasonal chill in the air.

Fern is doing her "thing". We check that she's not waiting outside the kitchen door on an hourly basis. Do we care? I guess that we do.

I shall be back with you all again tomorrow. smile moon

BladeAnnie Thu 29-Apr-21 17:46:11

Good afternoon dear kitcheners - hope everyone is well on this chilly (here anyway) spring afternoon. The new phone seems to be working well and here's the first photo taken by the camera - guess who was turning his pretty little face the other way?? Very coy Duncan!! Salad and quiche on the menu tonight. Special gentle hugs for soop and anyone else in need of a little comfort. Have a pleasant evening everyone smile

Doodle Thu 29-Apr-21 19:59:38

grannygravy how lovely your DGS pops in so often. ?
soop have you asked the GP for some anti nausea pills. DH had dreadful nausea from the morphine he had in hospital but the anti nausea tablets worked a treat. Do hope you feel better soon.
muse I liked your little rhyme. Thinking of you and your son hope all is ok. I think I missed news about your DGD. Hope things are ok.
Not like Duncan to be so coy BladeAnnie. Has he gone camera shy all of a sudden?
Love the yarn bombing N&G. Those butterflies are lovely.
Urms my budget won’t reach Carrie proportions.......and unfortunately, neither would hers. ?
Grannygravy sorry your meal plans were spoilt. Hope you enjoyed the take away.
Maw if you’re reading, I hope you and your new furry companion get on well. I hope there are no set backs this time. Be lovely if we could have a photo somehow. Miss you lots. Take care.

Urmstongran Thu 29-Apr-21 20:13:48

‘Evening All’

After a nice enough day here weather-wise it’s now been raining steadily for a good couple of hours. At least it was dry this afternoon for my walk with my chum. She entertains me with many amusing tales as we walk so it’s fun and as we have a laugh and a good weekly catch up. Hope everyone has a peaceful night ahead. Himself is watching Man. Utd and I’m about to settle down with a book. x

Synonymous Thu 29-Apr-21 20:57:20

soop flowers

I am so cold the heating is back on! No wonder all the little nesting birds are continuing to add so many fluffy feathers into their nests. Full size duvets I should think at the current rate! We saw one daddy sparrow taking a really beautiful and quite long feather which looked like it had belonged to one of the bluey coloured pheasants, it had pale blue and yellow tones in amongst the white and grey bits so I expect Mrs Sparrow would really like that one. smile

brook2704 Thu 29-Apr-21 21:22:35

Just creeping quietly into the kitchen as
I’m at my DD1 house as they’re out on the town and I’m babysitting the little ones. We had a lovely but cold afternoon at the park after school, then home for pizza, a bit of Tv, bath, bedtime stories and finally bed. I’m exhausted of course but happy so I’ll sleep well later.
Such good news that maw is getting her new companion today!
Soop hope you feel a bit better very soon, don’t like to think of you feeling yucky - take care
Hope everyone had a good day today and see you all tomorrow

Charleygirl5 Thu 29-Apr-21 21:34:16

I have seen a gorgeous photo of Rosie lying in her new bed looking very relaxed and well settled. Tonight may be marginally different-I hope Maw has understanding neighbours.

Rosie is mainly white with black blobs and looks very like Gracie.

I had my hair cut today but it is so short on the left it flops over my left eye and is not long enough to tuck under my glasses frame or behind my ear. I did think of using a pair of scissors but that will just be putting off the problem. I will just have to wait until it grows.

Every time there is a lockdown the price increases by a fiver.

Doodle Thu 29-Apr-21 22:01:10

charleygirl thanks for letting us know about Rosie. Lovely name. Hope Maw is happy with her new friend.
Hair grip perhaps. My haircut is next week. Can’t wait.
