Sleepless at around 3.30 this morning, I came down and scoffed most of a packet of clotted cream fudge that was supposed to be for dh’s stocking.
There are 4 pieces left.
I can’t see those lasting very long, either.

The other day I saw a White Forest Meringue dessert, to serve about 6, in the Co-op freezer and decided to buy it for Christmas, when I shall be alone for the day. Well, it never made it to my freezer and I ate it gradually over the same day! I shall therefore go without a dessert on the big day as I daren't buy another.

I must ask, was it actually big enough for 6 people, with decent amounts to fill the plates/bowls, or just something small for one or 2 people?

I have also been attacking (with a spoon) the jar of Nutella bought last weekend for Gdcs’ breakfast pancakes.
In my defence I did only buy the small jar.

No point buying the big one and trying to kid myself it’ll keep until the next time they stay the night.
I can blame the big jar we once had on dh who did the shopping - and he doesn’t even like it! Weirdo!

I ❤️ how many of us are so norty! And some of you make me giggle too - so bonus points awarded!

The Aldi white toblerone and rum and raisin choc bars have gone. Poof, just like magic. !!! The special marzipan chocs and whipped choc with nuts are safe, as I don't like them. Daren't buy Xmas biscuits yet. Then DH started on the Christmas whiskey. Oh well, it is December.

I don’t particularly care for chocolate or sweet things but crisps and nuts disappear at an alarming rate in our house. BF has a very sweet tooth but is indifferent to savoury, so at Christmas we look after each other’s ‘goodies’ until we need them and then do a swop. Fortunately we only live a few streets apart.

nandad Sat 04-Dec-21 08:27:15

Forgot to say I that hang on to a a couple of large packs of crisps and some nuts in case someone pops in for a drink. Shame I forget where I put them. Oh yes, just remembered they’re in my tummy!

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 04-Dec-21 08:30:46

Oh dear this confirms that I really might be unwell.
I bought 3 boxes of fudge from our trip to the IOW for our daughter and GCs and we safely delivered them to Cornwall (untouched) last weekend.
I bought a Chocolate Advent Calendar and only opened it last night and I actually shared the chocolate with MrOops.
I delivered the still almost full large jar of Nutella to our daughter as well as I have ‘gone off it ‘.
And after 65 years of nail biting I now have long nails.

Whatever is going on? I’m turning into somebody I don’t know or understand.

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 04-Dec-21 08:32:28

PS I also made fairy cakes and mince pies for the kiddies and handed them over and didn’t have any for myself!!
Something weird is going on.

I can't describe it as small! I didn't read the packet, but it probably said it would feed 6-8! I ate it in quarters, which filled a tea plate.

Reading about scoffed desserts reminds me of my sister, many years ago. She bought one of those supermarket cheesecakes that you made up yourself, and scoffed the whole one on her own one Saturday night.

It cured her. She said that after that she couldn’t even walk past the packets in the shop without feeling sick!

Yep been known to scoff at the tins of chocs before Christmas day, after a surprising high diagnosis of cholesterol they are defiantly off the menu this year but think myself lucky at aged 71 I have got away with it for the last 30 years lol

Talking of gluttony…..my children didn’t realise until they were nearly teenagers that most Easter eggs had sweets and chocolates inside them. I used to carefully unbox the egg, peel off the foil and prize open their eggs, remove the bags of chocolates, put the foil back and slide back into the box. Then eat the chocolates….. Bad mother!

Thanks everyone I've now found a club I'm a natural member of???.

Helen657 Sun 05-Dec-21 10:53:53

I bought myself a large box of maltesers and a large white choc toblerone for Xmas - came with the Asda delivery on Tuesday which DH unpacked as I’d been poorly. Wanted some chocolate last night, feeling naughty I went to get the maltesers out and there were only 6 left in the box - the toblerone was gone!!!! I will get my revenge (& replacements of course!!)

Mapleleaf Sun 05-Dec-21 10:54:58

Yes, I’ve done the same on occasion - my problem is that once something is open, the temptation is to keep going. Mind you, having said that, I’m in the same situation as jenwren now, so have to be strict with myself. I’m not doing too badly, but Christmas itself will be the real test.
