The obvious one to me are adverts on tv. Far too many and quite intrusive these days. There used to be a limit on the time but that seems to have disappeared. I could also say ,especially with politicians, too much talk, too little action.

I can’t disagree with any of the previous comments. Oh, for a more simple life.

I’d like the choice to buy white goods that can be repaired for a long time! I’d especially include washing machines that just have push buttons to make selections, not computer chips. I don’t want to spent my time looking up how to do stuff on the net! I’d also include the choice to buy cars, sewing machines etc. etc. that do not need computer chips and are just mechanically repairable.

My children actually have similar wishes even though they are very computer savvy.

I agree with all of the above but........

Kindness and compassion of my fellow citizens is AMAZING.
I have been volunteering at local Polish centre .
People are arriving night and day with donations of nappies, medicine, first aid items, baby clothes, bottles push chairs o, toys, torches.
We have also had crutches dog and car food.. the list is endless.
We are filling at least 2 large transit vans a day going to Red Cross hub and then in to Poland.

Boxes provided by Marks and Spencer
Tape scissors
batteries from local B and Q

“That’s a very good question”. Even when it is what you came on the radio to talk about.

Also being told what to do - eat less meat, use less plastic, wash clothes with cold water, buy fewer clothes.

Fattening but irresistible food.

Too much choice definitely! I think the success of Asda and Lidl prove that shops don't need to carry so many lines, less products cheaper food.

Too many screens in children's lives and in everyone else's sure we'd all be happier without the bombardment of social media. On that subject too much power in the hands of tech giants and lobbyists.

Too much worship of the fatuous, like clothing and handbags, I know the manufacture of such goods earn huge sums for the economy nevertheless think so much of it is elevated beyond it's importance. When I hear about the reverence surrounding say London Fashion Week, my thoughts are "just bloody frocks" and so much of what is paraded is unwearable, exorbitantly priced and ridiculous.

Too much coverage given to people of no particular talent, Kardashians and reality tv stars who seem to be multiplying at an alarming rate! way too much influence in that they have scores of impressionable very young people trying to emulate them sadly hmm

Greed
Litter including plastic bottles & takeaway cartons
Fast food outlets
Tik Tok & some of its vain so called influencers
Reality TV Shows (I totally agree with Terri on this, programmes like Married at First sight, Naked Attraction & Love Island for example are just awful.

The word basically .
I need taking a deep breath when hearing this word used at the beginning of a spoken comment.
Just get on with it.

Crap music in shops. In fact any music in shops.

Dickens Wed 09-Mar-22 14:39:48

... "choice"

I agree with others who've said this.

I don't want to devote an afternoon trawling through multiple energy suppliers' websites ("see our website for more information") to find an affordable option.

Nor do I want to view 141 different types of yogurt when shopping online.

And I don't want to study 'logistics' in order to catch a train from A to B.

I definitely do not want to trail through pages and pages of 'exclusions' / 'inclusions' when taking out insurance - because everyone knows that you want to be covered for what is most likely to happen and what insurance companies have found devious ways of excluding by covering this but not that... in order to offer more 'choice'...

Life really is too short for all this choice sometimes...

Too much of the word BASICALLY when the explanation that follows the word BASICALLY is anything but .....

Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Musicgirl Wed 09-Mar-22 16:30:02

Swearing. It’s all over television and in books. The f word and even the c word. We are told that it is how people speak these days. Well, I don’t and most people l know don’t either.
