Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet outside but not as windy as late yesterday here in Brackley this morning.
To occupy myself , I am going to use some chicken pieces, I had in the freezer ,and create a Chinese style curry in the slow cooker .
I aim to put it on a low, so it will simmer , the aim is let it thicken slightly.
Otherwise a quiet day , assuming what the postie brings , who seem to be delivering earlier during the lockdown.
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and ver ver wet. My new garden lamp has blown over and hopefully hasn’t broken as it is still lit!
My day off has been restored as I worked extra yesterday to get the jobs out.
I have no car and t is raining ☔️ so I may do some cleaning and watch some TV.
DD was upset as her DH isn’t yet onshore as the weather has been too bad in Marydoll country to get the chopper to the Rig. Maybe today?

Ashcombe Wed 20-Jan-21 06:44:38

Good morning all from Torbay, where Storm Christophe still holds sway, having raged for most of the night!

Your plans for a curry sound tasty, Mick!

I enjoyed lunch and the company of my bubble mate yesterday and I think the car was grateful for being driven after being being ignored for nearly three weeks!

In the evening, I participated in a Zoom committee meeting for our amdram company. No idea when we can reopen but essential maintenance of our building (a converted church) continues. We have benefitted from grants awarded by the government via our local council during our enforced closure. The photos show the auditorium and bar, both favourite places in normal times!

Stay safe and warm, everyone!

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark corner of Somerset. Looks damp out there but hard to tell yet. Awake unreasonably early for me, no reason, just awake. Domestic God and Goddess day ahead here. We’ll clean all through and sort the grocery delivery. We’ve always shared the cleaning and see no reason to change now smile. Hope the curry turns out as you like it mick. Take care everyone. Be kind to yourselves, it’s not an easy time for any of us.

Good morning Mick and all goodmorningers. It's pouring down here in the Gower.

A slow cooked curry sounds good Mick.

I've surprised myself this morning by being awake this early since I had a seizure and fell out of bed at 1:30am ?. Usually when I have one at that time I'm still fasto.
It's just as well that I've no real plans today, not that that's out of the ordinary at the moment - for me or many of you just now. I do have my usual daily quiz, not sure how that's going to go today! ? Apart from that, and cooking a breast of lamb, the rest of the day is down to my imagination and even that's limited today ?. Hey ho, at least my footie team won again yesterday evening and that means I'm a happy bunny ?

I hope everyone of you are keeping reasonably well, I haven't been able to even read anyone's posts for days since my tablet decided to have a nervous breakdown and I had to have a man who knows (how) to fix it; not my WP as he didn't know. Thankfully it's up and running now albeit not on all cylinders. What would we do without technology easy to hand, eh?

Please take care everyone, stay safe and cosy, find a wonder in the day, a smile along the way and be kind to yourselves ❤️

Good morning from a wet and windy E Kent. I don’t think we’ll get the worst of storm Christoph here, though I feel for those who will.
Mick, your curry sounds delicious, I love curry but DH can’t take the different spices so we never have it.
Cherry, can’t do with technology but can’t do without either...
Nothing on again, a bit of sewing. Ratatouille for dinner.
Hope those in the storm don’t suffer too much damage, those in pain, sorrow or trouble weather today. Pin a smile ? on or faces and battle on. All will be well, all will be well, all manner of things WILL be well. ☀️

Beechnut Wed 20-Jan-21 07:03:51

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is wet. We’ll probably get your pouring rain later Cherry.

I will try and work my way through some admin jobs today. One of them is my prescription order. I’ve messed that up and will probably need to get in touch or visit the surgery.

Stay safe and enjoy your meals all ?

Dwmxwg Wed 20-Jan-21 07:13:24

Good morning from very wet north Surrey.
First day back at work went ok, we are taking some patients from hospital with Covid as a step down to free up the acute beds, gives us some much needed funding. Good to be back but natural anxiety about what I may bring home. We have also been offered lateral flow tests so will collect them later today.
PT at 8 so need to get up and get going.
Wishing all a good day today. Stay dry and safe

Bellasnana Wed 20-Jan-21 07:18:20

Good morning from Malta where it is sunny but cold.

DD1 had quite a time driving home from work yesterday. Her usual 15 minute commute took two and a half hours around the back streets of Washington DC with three police road blocks and a National Guard one. After a 12 hour shift at hospital she wasn’t happy, nor was her very hungry pup who was waiting for her at home.

She says it will be even worse today. She’s on nights so drives home early morning.

I shall try to watch some of the inauguration on tv, otherwise another day of doing very little.

Stay safe everyone.?☀️

CherryCezzy Wed 20-Jan-21 07:28:05

What a beautiful place for amdram Ashcombe.

I hope you manage to get you prescription sorted out Beechnut.

Jaxjacky Wed 20-Jan-21 07:41:07

Good morning all from a wet, windy S Hants. Curry sounds good Mick, it’s that sort of day.
I’m full of joy today, after some weeks of breast pain I saw my GP last week and was referred to the fast track breast clinic yesterday.. My health anxiety/catastrophising has been crippling me the whole week, it’s something I try to fight, but am reduced to a still, silent person. However, a clean bill of health, nerve pain apparently, the swelling under my arm is a fatty deposit! The NHS as always magnificent, particularly now, my DH too. So, it is with renewed vigour I start the day
I’m very aware many of you are still fighting your battles with far more stoicism and good grace, my thoughts are with you all. ?

Gingster Wed 20-Jan-21 07:50:29

Good morning from a very dark Essex. Doesn’t sound too bad out there. Hope the people in flood areas don’t suffer too badly. ?.

Poor you Cherry falling out of bed, . I hope you didn’t suffer any damage.

It must be a nightmare trying to drive around Washington City at the best of times Bellasnanna . I will watch some if the inauguration later and see how it all pans out.

DDand littlest GD gave us a knock as they passed by yesterday. Lovely to see them . GD always gets shy standing in the drive and not able to come in. It must hard for them to understand all this. They were on their way to the school to pick up more work. She can’t get enough of it. ??. And she’s only in reception. ?. I walked passed the school the other day and saw all the key workers children playing n the playground. Running, squealing, having a lovely time with their friends. That’s what the majority of the youngsters are missing. So sad! ?

Day two of our healthier eating regime. Last of the Christmas cake was eaten yesterday and DH not happy. He bought chocolate when he went for milk. I think he’s a lost cause !

Enjoy your curry Mick, I’ll be thinking of you. ?

Wishing you all a brighter day. ??

kittylester Wed 20-Jan-21 07:50:37

Morning all from a very wet North Leicestershire.

Our cleaner is coming this morning and dh and I will go out to collect his medication and run the car.

Final evening Carer's course, thank goodness, and not much else going on.

Beauregard Wed 20-Jan-21 07:54:15

Good morning from a miserable wet day here in Derbyshire.

DH is recovering well from his surgery. He's trying to walk a little each day, starting with around the garden to venturing down the road and back yesterday for 5 mins. He's not ready for using the vacuum cleaner yet though so that will be my job today.

I think curry is on the menu for us too today. Last week I made a butter chicken curry (the one JO made for Claudia on his show). It sounded amazing but turned out to be really bland and slightly bitter I must have gone wrong somewhere. The leftovers went in the freezer so I might tweak it to see if I can adjust it more to my liking.

This afternoon I will walk out to see the girls ? and then probably watch some of the inauguration.

Have a good day all.

Beauregard Wed 20-Jan-21 07:59:37

Good news after so much worry Jaxjacky flowers

brook2704 Wed 20-Jan-21 08:02:55

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve had a light covering of snow and it’s very chilly out there ? If the paths are slippery again I might just stay in today ...
Yesterday we enjoyed a longer walk than planned along the south side of Loch Ness, really beautiful scenery. Half way round DD2 called stressing out with the homeschooling, she just wants to do it well but hasn’t much confidence in her teaching abilities and DGS is being reluctant to do anything he doesn’t like. I think she just phones me to get it off her chest share the problem etc. I can’t really help but hopefully I’m a listening ear at least
Take extra care at work dwmxwg and have a gentle day today Cherry
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Good morning everyone from a very cold bedroom today here on the east coast of Fife. Why I wonder do I feel this cold? When in fact the house is warm enough. I’ll work that one out when I get a look at the heating thermostat. Has my dh turned it down I wonder, he turns it down I turn it up same old same old. I had the best day ever yesterday I had a trip in the car with my ds and my dh to collect my ds prescription. Then back home to sit at the beach and walk a few steps along the flat pathway. Well away from anyone, Having my dh nag me to keep my head up and to stop looking at the ground when I’m walking oh well I suppose it’s for my own good.

It’s my dhs birthday today wish I could have given him a long lie in but I’m afraid the carers won’t allow that.they’ll be in here in a minute or two. I’ll just have to invite him to dance with me again this morning, it was so much fun yesterday when we had a dance of sorts to ABBA. Tea time will be interesting when we try to video it to send to our family they so enjoy a daily update smile no fivers in his brothers birthday card wink he asked for a lawn mower from me and a cuckoo clock from his son to remind him of our holidays in Austria where we had so much fun. The other presents are surprises he’ll get them later on when this household is fully awake smile have a good day everyone be kind to yourself put more butter on your toast wink

Greyduster Wed 20-Jan-21 08:07:37

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Grey and wet sums it up for South Yorkshire today. I was woken early this morning by a scam message on my phone - the second this week. I always delete them without opening but they put me out of sorts. I am making chocolate brownies this afternoon, just before my appointment with the practice nurse who will no doubt tell me to stop eating cake and lose some weight!
Your curry sounds good Mick - save some for me!?
Have a good day folks!

Nortsat Wed 20-Jan-21 08:07:47

Good morning Mick and the GM team from east London, where the weather seems fairly mild and it’s growing light.

What great news Jax. Cherry sorry to hear about last night. Lovely photographs Ash.

Today, I plan to attempt again to pay my outstanding Tax Charge. I have my Unique User Number, my log on password, my separate log in number and (hurrah it arrived yesterday) my Access Code. This engagement with HMRC has been going on since October. It probably feels like longer than that to the Good Morning-ers because I have been complaining about it since then...

I will do a bit of housework and then have a walk.

Have a good day all and for those receiving their jabs ... yay!
Take care and remember ‘let’s be careful out there’. ?

CherryCezzy Wed 20-Jan-21 08:09:28

Happy birthday to your DH Elizabeth ? ?

Nortsat Wed 20-Jan-21 08:10:02

Happy Birthday MrE ??

Sar53 Wed 20-Jan-21 08:11:51

Good morning everyone from a damp and blowy Essex by the sea. We made good progress in our sorting of the utility room yesterday, will continue this morning.
I will also watch some of the inauguration this afternoon and hope that nothing kicks off in Washington.
Jaxjacky I'm pleased you have had good news. Cherry take things easy today.
I hope you all have a pleasant Wednesday, smile ? and think happy thoughts xx

ginny Wed 20-Jan-21 08:12:21

Good Morning.

Good news Jaxjacky

I’ll make a fish pie today and have a look around for a ?. Hope you all find one too.

Gagagran Wed 20-Jan-21 08:12:59

Morning all. Wet and windy but mild (11.0c) here on the south coast.

Yesterday turned into quite a day for us. Having agreed to a jab appointment for 5pm today, at some distance away from home, we were eating lunch when another call came saying if we could go NOW we could have the jabs at the local Baptist Church, just down the road. So we abandoned our lunch and shot off and were back within the hour to finish our lunch! I made sure today's appt. was cancelled for us to leave it free for others waiting.

Other news, on the same theme though, DD and DGS both went for walk-through tests and I am convinced they will both be positive as they are in such close contact with DSiL who has full blown covid. Waiting for confirmation but not hopeful. We can't offer much help as we still have to shelter.

No idea what is on the menu today but it might be corned beef hash if DH fancies that. He usually does.

Thinking of all with health worries and other issues and still missing Gilly. Keep safe everyone. We will get through this. sunshine
