I am always available for him and I listen to him all the time. Once a month we have our special time when I take him to cinema, theatre or just fish and chips shop

Our five year old GS has been coming to our house from a baby and when his Mum went back to work we looked after him. So he took his first steps in our house. He has his toys and it's lhis second home. His Mum is so hyperactive that often he likes to come and just chill out. We miss seeing him so much now he is in school. His face lights up when we pick him up.

Our grand-daughter Alice is only 10 weeks old and we love her dearly. She was a fabulous surprise to us all after a lot of heartache for my daughter and partner involving IVF and miscarriage. My husband bonded instantly with her and now spends time dancing round the room showing her the basic dance steps and moves including quickstep - lockstep etc. This seems to induce sleep and relaxation all round! We are looking forward being around for quite a few more years and sharing our love of nature and simple things in life.

My grandson is all i have left of my daughter after she died at xmas time last year aged just 33 unexpectedly. I can say all the great things that are true of most grandchildren. Kind, keeps me young and the fun i have with them. But the main thing for me now is that a piece of my daughter is still alive in the world and I know he will grow up to make her proud.

My grand daughter is just 4 months old and I feel that we are just starting to bond. I feel we will both mature together and share our learning experiences

I love my grand kids and would do anything to spend more time with them. They are the joy of my life ?

Watching my grandson grow and that point where I could actually have a conversation with him was so heart warming for me.

Having identical twin girls as grandchildren, I feel especially blessed!... I look after them a couple of days a week when their mum is at work, and, though very tiring , it's mega fun, and, keeps me young! lol... We love going for walks, 'collecting' things from our 'adventures' ( leaves, conkers, flowers, etc) !Labelling them, and, putting them in 'Our Walks' scrapbook !! It's fun looking up the names of the various items, and, educational too! ...

Lovely seeing them grow up!

ItsDavid Sun 13-Nov-16 11:47:42

The way my granddaughter laughs at me and says ' You're funny Grandpa'

GeorgeW Sun 13-Nov-16 11:52:49

We live far apart so time together is always special. We try to make memory moments by doing new fun activities even if that's just something simple like baking a cake!

How can I begin, they make me smile everytime I think of them. They make me happy when they come to visit, they really make laugh when they phone me which is often. They have enrichened my life and given it purpose again. They send me picture messages of things they have made at school or nursery the older ones do that as they know i love all their pictures and they bring them to me at the weekend. They are phone and tecno savvy even at their young age, they even sorted my phone and tablet out for me I was amazed, they are wonderfull I love them so much they have given me so much I cant even begin to tell you. But as with all grandparents their grand child is great and very special to them and rightly so, they are our grandchildren and are so so special in their own rights.

I love the little things she says and does. I love how I can tell her things from long ago and she is always genuinely interested.

kathcake Sun 13-Nov-16 14:11:07

we have great fun playing games and having a laugh making memories

Greyduster Sun 13-Nov-16 15:26:34

We are past the stage with our only grandson where everything is a wonder and life is full of questions. Now, at nearly ten, he knows all the answers ?! We are taking more of a backseat in his life now, but he still makes my heart soar when he comes through our door and shouts "Hi, Nanny!" The time between splashing in muddy puddles and sitting watching "in the night garden", to sitting over dinner two days ago talking about the Mayan civilisation - their latest school topic - or turning out in the pouring rain to watch him play football, has gone in the blink of an eye, but I wouldn't have missed it for the world! He is a joy!

CGORST Sun 13-Nov-16 17:56:00

When we're together we all have the excuse to be daft - none of us have to act our age!

minilynn3 Sun 13-Nov-16 18:53:16

I love the very honest conversations I have with my grandchildren about anything and everything from Birthdays to the best way to get homework done!

SIDNEY65 Sun 13-Nov-16 20:09:18

He makes me feel special and gives me so much unconditional love

zbody Sun 13-Nov-16 20:49:38

We have the time to chat without all of the pressure of setting all of the rules . The six of them can ask questions , I can show them new things , take them on interesting trips because I have the time to do it . I learn things too...yesterday I learnt what "ship" means these days (a relationship , or to imagine one between to people I think ! ) .

janemphoto Sun 13-Nov-16 21:06:57

It's lovely seeing them, they have such innocence about them, like to ask questions. It's always a pleasure to have them.

jacko64 Sun 13-Nov-16 21:38:47

i love both my grandchildren equally as i had the honour have seeing them both come into the world, a very special bond between nanna and grandchildren x

angiehoggett Sun 13-Nov-16 21:47:51

IT's a different kind of relationship, one I can't describe it's the greatest feeling in the world!

mrspale Sun 13-Nov-16 22:18:11

It is hard to explain the bond we have. I have a lot more time and patience than I did with my children, they are like my little buddies

jamielmdjs Mon 14-Nov-16 01:07:13

he loves coming round for lunch from school - even bringing friends. I admit, they get spoiled but it's great to get the extra time.
