Why do you travel? What drives you to venture far from home and see sights you've never seen before?

Collette have spent the last 100 years taking people all over the world, and along the way they've learned that travel isn’t about the places you go. It’s about you and your reasons for going.

And everyone has different reasons. They can be big - a promise to a loved one, fulfilling a lifetime goal. But they can also be small - the blue water in Capri or the cuisine in France.

The reason doesn’t have to be happy for the trip to be important and fulfilling. In fact, the most powerful reasons probably won’t be. But they will be personal, deep, meaningful and maybe even surprising.

As the longest-running tour operator in North America, Collette has provided guided travel for 100 years. With trips to all seven continents, Collette’s guests fulfil their deepest travel aspirations in a variety of ways with travel styles that are diversified to suit every traveller’s personal style.

So, for the chance to win a £300 voucher, tell us - what's your reason for travel?

I enjoy travelling, as I love visiting new places, and experiencing different cultures and lifestyles. I also prefer countries with warmer weather as it's great to relax in between exploring.

To escape from the Grandchildren....Only joking! I love adventure and enjoy keeping fit so I would say most of my travel experiences involve a fair amount of exercise and pushing myself to achieve....I am never content to just travel to SEE something I like to ABSORB and EXPERIENCE as much as I can. I always look for experiences off the beaten track whilst visiting the usual ''must do/see" places.

feefeegabor Tue 11-Sep-18 08:09:33

It's all about seeing new places and gaining new experiences so we can see how other people live and install respect in our grandchildren.

To enjoy the world both afar and in th UK. So much to see and enjoy and the world is getting smaller. Sometimes I travel with friends and we laugh until we cry, other times just two of us which means we can be selfish and just do as we please. I am very lucky!!

Elrel Tue 11-Sep-18 08:44:27

I travel to see what the world is like outside my front door, suburb, city, country! I love to meet people with different life experiences from myself.

sscrase Tue 11-Sep-18 08:46:05

To experience different cultures with my family but also to relax away from BAU at home and get some hot weather and beautiful beaches.

Venus Tue 11-Sep-18 08:50:54

I'm a people person. I'm not so much excited by the scenery as such but I am interested in the people who live and become part of it. People are different in every country and to see their culture and way of life broadens the mind. Eating the local food and the unfamiliar aromas that abound is something I always take back home with me. Nothing beats travelling to new destinations.

To escape our everyday lives smile

I seem to have an in-built sponge, set at 'soaking up as many of the world's delights as possible'. I adore spoiling my senses with new sights, scents, sounds and just filling myself up to the brim with memories and tales.

happysouls Tue 11-Sep-18 08:57:43

I love to explore new places, see new countryside and beautiful places. I live a long way from the sea so the chance to see the sea is always great too! Peaceful walks in varied beautiful locations are good for the mind!

To see diverse scenery and explore new places as a family

Yaracuy Tue 11-Sep-18 09:09:25

I love travelling because I'm curious to see the incredible monuments left by ancient civilizations. My deepest desire to see what I learn at school and walk around when possible. I want to see more, I want to learn more.

sunfield91 Tue 11-Sep-18 09:19:18

I travel to explore the different cultures of the world, to see how we all live differently.

oumaof2 Tue 11-Sep-18 09:40:40

I have lived and worked around the world, but still so much to see. I love the history, culture, people, wine and food. Time to relax on a beach, pool by the villa, with family or friends- what’s not to love

Coogill Tue 11-Sep-18 09:44:00

We travel because we would like to see as much of the world as we can . To experience the way people live in other countries . Their whole way of life . Some times bringing their way of doing things back and incorporating them into our way of life . Also love to visit the normal touristy .
