I love anything by Mark Billingham. Tom Thorne is a great character and I get thoroughly invested in every book!

My favourite is 'Watch Her Fall' by Erin Kelly - 100 percent absorbing and keeps you guessing to the end.

I love the twists and turns of thrillers and the unputdownable excitement. Best of all are thrillers that linger in my mind afterwards.

Darkside by Belinda Bauer - like where it was set and suspense all the way through.

Cormoran Strike, Robert Galbraith. I enjoy the complex story lines and they are really well written.

ginnyc Mon 10-May-21 10:56:48

I love a good detective novel, particularly authors such as Peter May and Ian Rankin but also enjoy psychological thrillers and The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins is probably my favourite in recent years. I like there to be a real twist in the plot during and at the end of a story.

Newlife65 Mon 10-May-21 12:20:59

I enjoy James Patterson's novels. There is a huge choice and I like having different co-authors and heroes. There is always a twist and the books are gripping from the first page. I don't have a favourite as every time I read a new one, that becomes my favourite

Womens Murder Club Books by James Patteson cannot be beaten although I love most crime novels or dark psychological thrillers.

Jack Reacher. The intrigue & suspense is what I love.

I love reading David Dickinson crime novels ( no not the orange coloured antiques man) his novels are very clever period detectives where I feel I actually learn things as well . Particularly liked Death of a pilgrim, and Death of a wine merchant

My favourite crime book has to be The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. It was such a brilliant read and kept you on the edge of your seat - probably the best murder book I've read. I love crime/thriller books because they keep you so engrossed in the story and all of them are totally gripping.

It is so hard to just pick one as I have read some fantastic thrillers but going for The couple next door by Shari Lapena who is an amazing writer.

marymod Mon 10-May-21 17:23:03

My favourite would be Dead Tomorrow by Peter James, as it was the first I'd read by him and got me gripped. I found it scary, disturbing, but not enough to keep me awake at night. As it was set close to where I live, I recognised many of the locations.

Kittyme1 Mon 10-May-21 19:43:37

I love reading crime thrillers, my favourite crime writer is Linda La Plant, I've just finished reading her latest book Judas Horse.

Susangilley Mon 10-May-21 20:07:11

Linwood Barclay: No Time for Goodbye. I love this book. A real page turner. I love crime thrillers because they transport me to a completely different world. And I love trying to solve the story.

Oh there are some many good crime thrillers, but I’d I had to pick one I would say the DI Fawley series by Cara Hunter, specifically her latest instalment, The Whole Truth. It was outstanding!

Thrillers are my go to genre. I love being detective and trying to work out what’s happened....even better if I can’t and I’m hit with a huge plot twist, which is usually the case with thrillers!

1969angep Mon 10-May-21 22:35:03

The one that sticks in my head is Rattle by Fiona Cummins - it literally made my skin crawl. I have read so many awesome thrillers though, it's my favourite genre. Always a tense read which usually keeps you guessing until the end before delivering a killer twist!

Thedifferencebetweenaduck Mon 10-May-21 23:16:18

My new favourites are the Phryne Fisher Murder Mysteries series by Kerry Greenwood. I don't like ones that just seem full of gore or horrible things happening to women just for the sake of it, but these - although they're quite gritty in places - are such enjoyable reading and Miss Fisher is great fun and fiercely unconventional!

RainbowChild Mon 10-May-21 23:48:50

I’m a big fan of Agatha Christie’s crime thrillers. They’re like jigsaw puzzles and eventually all the pieces slot into place. Death on the Nile is one of my favourites, as is The Murder Of Roger Ackroyd. I love the unexpected endings!

stewaris Tue 11-May-21 06:50:00

Anything by Ian Rankin, my OH hates his books, especially Saints of the Shadow Bible.

chr1ssy0908 Tue 11-May-21 07:12:08

Anything by Val McDermid as she’s a brilliant author and I’m always hooked on every book right until the end!
