WOOT - Here it is, our very own shed ( Thanks GSHQ), real posh one too, no more old doors etc. it may be small on the outside but, inside, WOW, it's a tardis, plenty of room for everyone.
However it's a bit bare atm, contributions to make it homely greatly appreciated. BUT remember it's Granddads' shed, no chintz please.

Hope to see you all from time to time.

Daisymat, remember, this is Granddads shed, we are likely yo use your Geranium for cuttings, the candles will be most useful.
Heather, every good shed has it's share of useless broken tools. (think I have 2 forks like that in mine)

It is with a heavy heart that I have to leave Gransnet, I have enjoyed the banter with many of you.

However, the "F" word has crept into posts, and I cannot abide that in mixed company. As another correspondent points out, I can always walk away, this is what I have decided to do.

If anyone wishes to continue to chat to me, you can find me on Skype as "Chris Hawkhand"

Good bye friends sad

tjspoma what are we going to do without you in the Shed!

I will be sorry to see you go, I have enjoyed your company and will miss you smile

Notsogrand Tue 07-Jun-11 08:13:50

tjspompa, really sorry that you have decided to leave! I'll miss your friendly posts. Take care smile

lucid Tue 07-Jun-11 10:52:31

Oh no tjspompa we'll really miss you. The shed just won't be the same. All the best and I'll raise a glass wine to you.

Angelwispa Tue 07-Jun-11 11:26:11

tjspompa I was just getting up the courage to pop into your shed for some tea and biscuits and I'm a bit bemused, where have you seen the "F" word, I thought we were all being very ladylike on here.

baggythecrust! Tue 07-Jun-11 12:34:39

Have a rethink, old bean. We won't swear in the shed.

HildaW Tue 07-Jun-11 13:31:52

Angel, Like you I've not seen any nasty words - and to be quite honest if someone did use an 'F' word in reply to anything I wrote I'd probably hit the 'report' button. Cos I'm a proper little tell tale. grin

Anyway...do rethink tjspmpa.....we need bright sparks like you!

I love my 'Grannie Shed'. It has just enough room for a cane settee/two very comfortable cane armchairs a coffee table and a wine rack, plus music system. Subdued lights, candles and plants (very romantic).
Not a tool or dirty mag in sight!smile wine

twizzle Tue 07-Jun-11 18:40:06

Your 'Grannie Shed' sounds lovely lionlilic

Can we come and join you please? I think our garden shed has been closed until further notice.

Will bring some wine for the wine rack.

wine

I would love it twizzle. Tried to get Hubby in a shed for years but he would not have one. So, last year I got one instead of a summer hol. and all the family love it. Even have the cheesy plastic grapes hanging from the ceiling. Spend the summer out there and in the evening sip my wine and listen to Smooth radio and love candle light (it makes me look much younger)!smile

glassortwo Tue 07-Jun-11 19:02:44

Can I come and join lilac sounds lovely, I will bring wine and a few healthy nibbles wink

lionlilac Tue 07-Jun-11 19:04:36

You are all more than welcome in Solihull - just bring a bottle and a smile

i set off early this morning to attend the opening ceremony, but because there was more than two corners to to turn, i got slightly confused. never mind, if i stand here long enough, somebody will find me.

Annobel Tue 07-Jun-11 22:55:47

Knock, knock, grandads. Just dropping in to ask if you think the logo is a bi unfair to you lads?t

any Fri 10-Jun-11 22:55:41

Talking about a wee wood burner have it got a loooooo

any Fri 10-Jun-11 22:59:26

By the way I have always liked sheds it must be because I was concieved in one just after the war when my dad came home on leave.

Notsogrand Fri 10-Jun-11 22:59:53

any...a loo would be fairly near the top of my list too grin

Annobel Sat 11-Jun-11 07:26:02

I hesitate to say this, but, ladies, why should a loo be a priority for the fellows if there are plenty of bushes around this shed?

baggythecrust! Sat 11-Jun-11 10:16:21

annobel — haha! grin but I'll support the call for a ladies' loo. The grandad's can use it too if, and only if, they clean it as well. I'm assuming the ladies will do that when necessary. Prejudiced? Who, me? I'm only judging from experience. That's not prejudice, it's empirical induction.

baggythecrust! Sat 11-Jun-11 10:17:13

Oh dear! Apologies for the superfluous apostrophe!!!!!

Elegran Sat 11-Jun-11 11:09:53

And if they put the seat down when they are finished.

pompa Sat 11-Jun-11 11:37:03

Don't worry, bushes are fine for us (or compost heap -- that seems to be the recommendation of Gardeners World lately)

greenmossgiel Sat 11-Jun-11 12:11:13

OOh! But then I've heard that ladies wee is very good for leeks.....! blush

supernana Sat 11-Jun-11 12:36:43

greenmossgiel Mind your onions! grin
