Yay!
Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.

Greyduster Wed 23-Aug-17 08:38:41

Well, the sat nav worked for the new kitchen! I will just park myself in a corner and have one of crafting's jumping eclairs!
Soop I will be thinking of you and MacS today - hope all goes well. At least the fish and chips will be a plus.
N&G hope your visit to the theatre is lots of fun. We haven't been for a while but last time we went it was a Pinter play - not big on fun! Fingers tied in lots of knots for your weigh in this evening - you won't need the chocolate.
I am waiting for GS to surface. He stayed here last night after going to football with DH. They had a good time (kitty we wuzz robbed!!?). I looked in on him earlier and had a moment of panic as his bed seemed empty, but he had migrated down into one corner and was sleeping in a heap, the same as he used to do in his cot when he was tiny. We hope for some fun swimming today if the session is not full.
Good news about Paw - lets hope he's back to making progress.

MawBroon Wed 23-Aug-17 09:04:26

Good morning Kitcheners and special good luck to Annsixty's DD , how fortunate this was spotted and action is being taken in time.
Good luck and safe travels to soop and macsporran too , good plan to make a more pleasurable day of it I think. Something about a "virtue out of a necessity"?
My euphoria of last night has faded a bit, it is normal isn't it to be up and down, you reach the top of one hill only to glimpse the mountain beyond. Sorry, that is a disturbed night speaking. brew needed now.

Charleygirl Wed 23-Aug-17 09:09:28

I have decided that it is just as well I live on my own because whoever also lived here would not get much sleep. I am up and down like the proverbial yo- yo going to the loo and at 3.30am I was almost certain that it was time to get up but luckily went back to bed to think about it and fortunately fell asleep until nearly 7.30am.

N&G I am happy to test the chocolate that you are considering having this evening. The problem is that there will be none left, especially as I enjoy having it with coffee.

I am waiting for Royal Mail to deliver my new motion sensor lamp for the garden- my only hope is that it arrives before the electrician! Silly me thought that it was coming yesterday.

Again it is going to be a lovely day- it is very warm now, I am waiting for the sun to appear.

annsixty Wed 23-Aug-17 09:10:32

[Flowers] Maw and lots of courage in these, so difficult, times. Swings and roundabouts come to mind.

Charleygirl Wed 23-Aug-17 09:16:15

Maw Hattie will see you through these difficult times. It is encouraging to hear that Paw is getting slowly better.

Charleygirl Wed 23-Aug-17 10:07:26

I am just testing if the italics are working hence this to you lot.

NonnaW Wed 23-Aug-17 10:39:41

Wow! New kitchen and the italics back!
Fingers crossed for both paw's progress and ann's daughter.
Hope your lights and electrician arrive in the right order charley.
soop hope all went well at the hospital and that you are not both worn out today (or have I got my days muddled up?).
Trying to motivate myself today, feeling somewhat tired (again) and not helped by a little dog who seems to want to be surgically attached to me today for some reason. Most unlike her when the back door is open and 'master' is out there.

Greyduster Wed 23-Aug-17 11:01:30

Sorry, Ann, our posts must have crossed. I shall keep everything crossed for your D, and hope she is not too uncomfortable after her procedure.

kittylester Wed 23-Aug-17 12:08:10

The DGD have gone school shoe shopping with Mummy so peace reigns. DH is busy catching up on The State (why!!) and I'm catching up here.

Ann, hoping for a successful outcome for your daughter and, as GD says, lots of pain relief.

Maw, sorry that you are feeling down about Paw, it's maybe tension loosening a bit like catching a cold at the start of the holidays. Let us know how he is today.

GD, I suspect we will get robbed tonight from all the gloomy talk around here. Have you recovered from the temporary loss of your DGS! I once 'lost' one of our boys and did a bit of a mad panic dash around the house. He had fallen asleep under his bed.

Charley, I'll fight you for N&G's chocolate - by the time the DGC have gone to bed, it's about all I'm capable of. grin

I expect the eclairs have jumped towards other people by now. sad

Right, off for lunch in peace before they come back.

MawBroon Wed 23-Aug-17 13:14:08

It had to happen! gringrin

Charleygirl Wed 23-Aug-17 13:34:52

Maw Hattie is merely testing the beds and comfortable areas on offer. There are at least 2 beds on the next floor so once she has had a quiet rest on that comfortable sofa she can always move elsewhere.

The electrician and builder will not be here today- nobody has had the courtesy to rely to my voicemail but what is new? At least it gives Royal Mail a fighting chance to deliver today. The lamp was posted on Monday am by second class post I believe so by my reckoning it should arrive this pm.

Ann fingers crossed for your daughter.

Maw I hope that Paw has not deteriorated since yesterday.

soop I suspect that you are tucking in to fish and chips as I write- I hope that all went well with MacSporran and his condition remains unchanged.

With luck after the grocery shopping you will have a leisurely drive home to be greeted by the man of the house who will be wondering why he has been neglected for so long. It will be nice to put your feet up with a cup of tea or something stronger.

Crafting Wed 23-Aug-17 13:35:48

Aw hattie I could just curl up beside you and have a good nap. You look so cosy..room for one more smile

annsixty Wed 23-Aug-17 14:23:25

That is one very, very, lucky dog, she knew where to be removed.

cornergran Wed 23-Aug-17 14:30:48

Move over, hattie, little sleep last night so a nap would be wonderful. Not surprised you are up and down maw, just be as you are. Hope you get some good news today.

Oh dear, charley, no workforce? I'm sure they will be back, having said that the uncertainty would be driving me crazy. I'm impressed at your ability to stay sane

Wishing your daughter well. ann, no matter how old they are we still worry.

Apparently I am advised to lose some weight n&g, all in the name of reducing pressure on a dodgy knee. Giving up chocolate is a step too far, though, just a little has to be better than me being even more crabby grin. I'm full,of admiration for you and just know your weight loss has happened.

I'm sure soop and macs will have thoroughly enjoyed their fish and chips, fingers crossed now for the medical stuff.

Hope the sleeping grandson woke up cheerfully greyd, we've got one who slides off the bed onto the floor. Interesting, aren't they?

Right, sun is out and so is the laundry. Looks like it will be ironing time soon.

Take care all.

Charleygirl Wed 23-Aug-17 14:38:55

corner I would be worse off if I said how I felt because the fellows would never return. I have even gone from sandwiches or pies to cooked meals to entice them- okay that may well be a reason why they have not come today!

I have to stay indoors anyway waiting for Royal Mail but I have a nasty feeling that it is not coming anytime soon.

The worst thing is I have to stay downstairs because I cannot get downstairs at the speed of light as is expected when anybody rings the doorbell. As said before, I do not sit behind the door knitting, waiting in anticipation.

annsixty Wed 23-Aug-17 14:49:07

My new tablet is constantly changing what I type!!
I meant rehomed, not removed.

callgirl1 Wed 23-Aug-17 16:30:45

Lovely photo Maw, there`s a dog who knows how to get comfy! I hope that Paw has shown some more improvement today.
Soop and MacSporran, I hope all went well today, helped along by fish and chips (mushy peas?).
It`s been a grey old day today, looking like rain right from the start, so no washing got hung out, now, at this late hour, the flipping sun has come out!

callgirl1 Wed 23-Aug-17 16:32:10

Clicked in error, meant to add Ann, that I hope that all has gone well for your daughter.

Galen Wed 23-Aug-17 16:39:52

Has anyone seen downsized? I'm worried that with all this exercise she'll be too tired to enjoy the food and drink gym on board

soop Wed 23-Aug-17 17:59:28

Have just returned and am thinking to myself - I wonder whether 'that lot' have been in and messed up the new kitchen. How on earth shall I feel if no-one has visited. And what do I find, 45 visits! That's what!

First thing I did was to welcome Mapleleaf to the merry band of Granspals. flowers I trust that someone brushed the cat/dog hair off the best chair. Second thing I did was to lose the original welcome message. How? Why? I was not best pleased.

Maw Continuing small positive improvements are wished for Paw.
ann Thank goodness for the NHS. I am hoping for a good outcome to your daughter's medical procedure.

Awwww! That's for Hattie.

N&G I'm very pleased not to have to be weighed this evening. The fish and chips AND berry and apple crumble with cream have, during the course of the afternoon, added at least an inch to my waist. I've had to undo the zip on my jeans. Felt unable to breathe freely with the button fastened. Far too exhausted to mount the exercise bike, let alone pedal it. wink

MacSporran's largest group of swollen lymph glands are clustered in his abdomen very close to the aneurysm. Whereas the normal lymph glands are about a centimetre in size, his are 6.8 cms. He has an appointment with vascular consultant in Oban on Monday. He's also to see an ENT specialist in Glasgow sometime soon.
Thing is, we're home again. No place quite like it.

soop Wed 23-Aug-17 18:09:13

Yes, NonnaW, I too am delighted to have the italics back. Us lot like stuff to remain untiddled with. grin

Charleyg How's your day been?

Galen Fear ye not. downsized is preparing herself for all manner of goodies. Will you be having a butler on the next cruise? If so, you'll need to share him. Ha! That should be fun.

Ironing duties all tomorrow morning. I'm a tad weary right this minute. I shall sign off and have a long, cool drink of Elderflower cordial. smile moon

downsized Wed 23-Aug-17 18:29:28

Dearest soop you and MacS were on my mind today. I'm not sure what the findings regarding the swollen lymph nodes mean, but I hope it is nothing to be alarmed about flowers

Galen, fear not, I am here and getting very excited about our voyage. So much so that I went to Valletta today and treated myself to a pearl bracelet and earrings to go with my Nana's pearl necklace. Also bought some new shoes with rather vertiginous heels! May need to borrow a crutch from you in order to remain upright grin

We had rain in Malta today - typical since I had just had the car cleaned. It is still hot and muggy though so it has not cleared the air.

Best wishes to all, especially those with poorly family members flowers

Greyduster Wed 23-Aug-17 18:33:09

Well, my little prince has gone home. He has been a joy today (when he eventually got out of bed!) but we always need R&R (along with G&T, TLC and G&B (Greene and Blacks choc)) when he has been here. We played games, went swimming, played cricket and generally danced attendance on him (as yer do!). The plasterer called to discuss some work we are having done just as GS left, and I was so exhausted I couldn't think straight. I just stood at the door and stared at him. He must have thought I was bonkers!
Glad to hear you and MacS are safely home, Soop. I agree, it is the best place in the world! I expect Rory was glad to see you!

Greyduster Wed 23-Aug-17 19:42:13

Also my grandson has discovered --- whistling!! ?‍♀️⚡️⚡️?⚡️⚡️.

Charleygirl Thu 24-Aug-17 10:05:58

Quite difficult to find us lot again with this new layout, but I have found myself again so no worries.
