I think it’s good that DD has resigned, I would like Boris to resign too, but doubt he has the principles of Davis.
I think though, what many Remainers forget is that Corbyn
Would go full steam ahead with Brexit ( whatever happens)
Both Parties are committed to leaving the EU.
I think Raab will be better as Brexit Secretary,

Yes, Annie, I agree Labour has been very quiet on Brexit for some time. However, it is felt that there is a large cross-party majority in the Commons for a soft Brexit. Perhaps the PM believes she can use that cross-party majority to get her Brexit plan through.

That would necessitate talking to Labour and Liberal MPs. However, I have seen no definite confirmation of Labour party MPs attending Downing Street at the minute.

I think if TM said from the outset - the result was very close, we'll go for as soft a Brexit as possible, most people would have said - fine, go ahead, a lot of remainers would have felt they weren't written off, and the Brextreemists would have been outnumbered. Instead she's tried to outkip the kippers with meaningless cliches. Where is strong and stable now?

It was quite bizarre to have a proven liar appointed as Foreign Secretary. I hope an honest replacement can be found.

Boris Johnson has embarrassed and discredited the UK. Surely no-one would ever again consider him suitable for any important job, let alone PM.

You might expect the secretary of state for negotiating trade treaties to be against a deal that would prevent the UK negotiating its own trade treaties.

It was not always thus. Six years ago, Fox was a backbench MP campaigning for Britain to leave the EU, having resigned as Defence Secretary for allowing his personal friend Adam Werritty to become involved in official government business.

Fox wrote an article for the Mail on Sunday in September 2012 setting out his vision for Brexit: he thought the “best way forward” would be an economic partnership “involving a customs union and a single market in goods and services”.

DD never once appeared to me to be in control of his brief. He was embarrassing at joint statement press briefings, looking anywhere but at the audience and not seeming to have grasped the importance of his role. He really should not have accepted the role in the first place, but to resign now after agreeing at Chequers tells us a lot about his character.

Likewise, BJ the showman who frequently embarrassed this nation with his inept quips has never appeared statesman like to me. No loss there then.

Please don't let this shambles be the pre-curser to removing TM and putting either of them in as caretaker.

Lib Dem MPs will be calling on the government to extend Article 50 today. Extending Article 50 will ensure enough time is available to pass a law for, and then hold a vote on, the final say on the deal. Or if the government insist on pushing on with the negotiations, it will buy some more time for real talks to take place.

What a shambles. I agree with those who say DDavies never felt to be on top of his role. Boris is totally untrustworthy, self seeking and has humiliated this country so many times in his role as FS. Let's hope any chance he might have had of Leadership have ben finally buried following his latest shenanigans.
I echo suzied's comments, that TM would have done far better to work on the basis of what we had, that is a fairly narrow vote in support of Leave. Having campaigned to Remain, she tried to placate her right wingers and as could have been predicted, failed.
Thank goodness for Gareth Southgate and his team. Team players, working hard and giving the country a bit of hope at last.

Annie there are many entrances to 10 Downing Street for those who are told not to be seen. In that, many commentators are saying tonight that Theresa Mays meeting with Labour and Liberal MPs has been held.

In the above I feel is why she addressed the Conservative 1922 committee with such confidence and why JRM made the statement he did later in regard to the Tory party splitting.

Annie, yes, Brexit affects Wales as much as England. I'm not sure the footie does though- no offence meant to Wales, Scotland or N Ireland.

Iam64, yes it's only England that has taken these "British Isles" to the heights of the World Cup final stages (its coming home).

However, we have bequeathed one of England's finest players to show Wales how the beautiful game should be played as their head coach.
