The King has reportedly evicted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from Frogmore Cottage, their residence in Windsor. Buckingham Palace let the Duke and www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1740755/royal-family-meghan-markle-prince-harry-frogmore-cottage-king-charles of Susses know about the plan to take away the property from them just days after Harry's tell-all memoir, Spare, was published worldwide, it has been claimed.

I think I'd be a bit miffed if I'd put a lot of effort and thought into re designing the interior of Frogmore. On the other hand, if I were only going to use it on very rare occasions I'd get the point and would be equally happy checking into the Lanesborough or similar. If it is symbolic of stripping me of everything, then I guess I might feel I deserved it somewhat for criticising The King, Queen and Ps of Wales in public.
The Omid Scobie mouthpiece only drops these nuggets to keep H & M relevant, which they're not.

Omid Scobie has said that two other members of the RF are appalledhmm. Not named of course so maybe it's Archie and Lillibet, can't think of anyone else it could be.

That sounds about right for the situation Casdon tho it won’t suit those who like to feel outraged by anything the RF do.

Had to smile at the being ‘evicted’ I imagined PC pointing sternly and H and M and children tearfully clutching a few possessions and heading out shivering in the rain.

can just imagine south park's dramatisation of this tragic scene.

Sensible thing to do. Frogmore should be used not stand empty for occasional use.
PA not happy to be moving according to BBC.
I would prefer some of these properties to be used for needy families but that may be when pigs learn to fly.

I never believe anything in the tabloids. It’s all made up.

I doubt it’s been made up. Andrew will no longer be able to meet the running costs of a grand residence like Royal Lodge so no doubt William and Kate will move in once we’ve done it up!

Eugenie and Jack can stay with Andrew when they visit the UK. There will already be a nursery used by their little boy when they lived there and Harry and Meghan can slum it in Adelaide Cottage.

They’ll all be a stones throw away from each other - easy for glowering looks, flouncing and leaking stories to the press.

See, I’ve worked it all out. I do love a good game of Musical Royal Houses! 😂

Has anyone moved into Nottingham Cottage since H&M decamped to Frogmore?

Surely it would do for the rare occasions they are back in the UK? A bit cramped, but still….. We all have to be a bit inconvenienced, don’t we, when we pop back from abroad to see family.

Calendargirl Wed 01-Mar-23 17:58:24

And it would bring back happy memories, of roasting chickens while he popped the question….

Oh, happy days!

Probably because they paid for the rent, the renovation and it was a safe place for them when they come to the UK.

I understood that Charles paid them back for the renovations when they were forced to pay after a public outcry at the huge cost being borne by taxpayers.

Have they paid rent since they left for Canada?

Didn’t they sub let to Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank who were paying the rent before relocating to Portugal?

Is that legal - subletting? 😲

William and Catherine plus three children live in a small house while Frogmore stands empty and Andrew and Sarah rattle around in Royal Lodge.
Perhaps Will and Kate didn't want to live at Frogmore (that would cause more trouble, wouldn't it).

Don't forget the Royal corgis, dorgi and spaniel Terribull. They are of paramount importance, they need a large kennel.

Has anyone moved into Nottingham Cottage since H&M decamped to Frogmore?

And what about Appartment 1, The palatial residence next door to William and Kate? Done up at huge expense to the taxpayer and stands empty because H&M turned it down.

They had leased Frogmore for 18 months. That expired 2 months ago.

confused

Oh, thank you.
I can't keep up!

It seems sensible for the house to be used as more than a very occasional holiday home.

So much choice.

My DC have to argue about who has the bigger spare room 😁

Calendargirl Wed 01-Mar-23 18:57:17

What’s happened to Apartment 1A, which was William and Catherine’s?

Do they still use it when they are in the capital?

MerylStreep Wed 01-Mar-23 18:57:29

You have a spare room 😱

😁
Three (one's very small)

I could ask H&M to stay with me when they come over if they're stuck.
We have toys for Archie and Lilibet too (although not many after my bag-a-day clear out)

varian Wed 01-Mar-23 19:11:01

Just how many homes do all these royals actually need?

OK Buck House is just a place of work.

So there's Windsor Castle for living in.

Maybe they could make a case for keeping Holyrood House although they already have Balmoaral aa a Scottish home.

Is that not enough ?

We only have one home which is where we live. We do have friends how have or have had a second home - usually in a holiday place, but how could anyone justify having umpteen homes at a time when many of our fellow citizens are homeless?

That reminds me of poor Harry telling us about William always getting the better bedroom in Balmoral.

Such a tragic tale. 52 bedrooms to choose from but William got the bigger one with the better view.

Eugenie? And Jack? If he counts?
Harry and Eugenie still seem to be friends.

Could be fancythat but once again they're not named which makes Scobie's claim questionable.

It's so unfair!

Well, Andrew at having to downsize? Sarah?

Or the corgis, dorgi and spaniel perhaps? They may each be used to having their own bedroom and don't want to share.

Callistemon21 Wed 01-Mar-23 22:33:37

Do you know who I am?

MawtheMerrier Wed 01-Mar-23 22:34:20

There is so much choice - how much space does a single man on his own need FFS? An apartment in Kensington Palace would seem one of the most appropriate options.
And are the Sussexes likely to return to England?
No? Then why should they have a 7 bedroomed house kept standing empty for them?
