So far, 2022 is not a good year to be an entitled white man!

Johnson, Prince Andrew, Djokavic are all having a bad start to their year. Whatever our opinions of any of them, and I am sure we vary, they have all considered themselves to be unfettered by the standards of behaviour, acceptance of legislation that the majority of us adhere to.

You can add Prince Harry to your list. He wants the police to provide body guards for his/their next visit to the UK. Admittedly he said he will pay, but why not just hire a security firm rather than ask the police?

What a shame grin

Given that posh, white men are right at the top of the social hierarchy and hold the most power and wealth, I the no it's time they were held to account.

*it's time!

What an unpleasant post, if someone had sAid black there would be uproar and racist.

Hardly! A stereotype of an entitled black man doesn't spring readily to mind, does it? ?

I agree, GillT57. There seems to have been a rash of entitled pillocks getting their comeuppance lately, and it's no bad thing.

Those are my sentiments exactly.

Oasthouse Mon 17-Jan-22 20:22:08

what's unpleasant? it's just an honest reflection of what our world is at this present moment....

Anniebach Mon 17-Jan-22 20:25:20

I wouldn’t say Djokovic is particularly posh - OK he’s wealthy but I think the Australian authorities proved that he may be entitled, but he’s not particularly powerful - if he was he’d have got what he wanted.

Is Andy Murray an entitled white man ?

No, he's not.

He's somebody who got where he is through hard work and probably remembers what it was like to hide under a desk in a Dunblane primary school.

He does, however, own a very posh hotel.

Anniebach Mon 17-Jan-22 20:42:24

You express sympathy for someone who has suffered a horrific
trauma, I am surprised

Alegrias1 Mon 17-Jan-22 20:46:15

Sympathy? I see no sympathy....

Admiration. That's what I'd call it.

Wow! This thread has taken an unpleasant turn.

Funny isn’t it, if a man is born into a poor family it’s not his fault if he is born to a well off family he is fair game. I’m not a fan of any of the named individuals but the circumstances of their birth were beyond their control.

Wow! This thread has taken an unpleasant turn.

Why does race have to be dragged into everything.

GillT57 Mon 17-Jan-22 21:28:28

Anniebach, as far as I am aware Andy Murray has had a good year so far, have you missed the point perhaps? The 3 examples I gave in the OP have found that not following the accepted rules and behaviour that society in general does has not worked out very well for them.
