Blimey O'Reilly this good!

We watched a film called Headhunter on Sunday night. It's a Danish thriller downloaded from iPlayer. It stars Lars Mikkelson from The Killing and it was quite good, 6 or 7 out of 10. smile

Oh and I think the reason why the cell didn't have a loo is prisoners were not normally held for long and normally there wasn't much crime where someone needed to be locked up. I think I have seen holding cells in English speaking shows that didn't have a loo, just a bench against the wall.

Once the thaw started the road was reopened, so back up could get through. We saw the slimy MP leave by car a couple of episodes ago, and starting with the ship's captain, the characters who were arrested were transferred to Reykjavik by car. I think the police woman took the little boy Maggi with her because he was too scared to stay alone any longer. Plus she didn't know for sure where the baddie was.

I really liked the police woman too.

When I was in Iceland in 2008 we went to look at a waterfall and a few yards away there was a path up to a toilet in an attractive little hut.

It was very clean, had geothermally heated water to wash your hands with and a hot radiator and this was in the middle of a very icy lava field.

Considering the remoteness of the location this was probably the best toilet in the world.

The swimming pool would have been heated by the geothermal activity underground all over the island. I think that all the houses are heated that way too.

Tegan Mon 14-Mar-16 23:00:02

Hadn't thought of that. You do have to suspend disbelief a bit with these Scandi dramas. I couldn't work out why it was so warm in the swimming baths when there was a power cut either.

Throughout the series it seemed as though there were only three policemen/woman in the whole area but at the end when they called for backup all hell was let loose and a dozen cars turned up hmm

Luckygirl Mon 14-Mar-16 22:35:59

I agree - it was very hard to imagine that a cell had no facilities for personal needs. It did not make any sense. Even a bucket would have done!

Tegan Mon 14-Mar-16 22:09:46

Finally managed to watch the lot. What a sad ending. I loved the lovely policewoman; sort of felt she and Andri should be in Fargo though. Mind you, why did she take the little boy out of the locked room; ok he was locked in but he was, at least, safe there. I did think there was humour in it; not in the last few episodes but earlier on their was a bit of dry humour in some of the conversations. Why did the cell not have a loo in it though? The prisoners seemed to have to spend an awfully long time locked up without one confused.

I certainly missed that Wilma I thought he sailed away with the ferry.

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 13-Mar-16 17:24:05

Yes, he was arrested for human trafficking and taken away to the big city like all the guilty.

tanith Sun 13-Mar-16 16:43:13

Enjoyed it a lot I hope they make another series too. I had an inkling the police woman's old man was somehow mixed up with it all but it seems not. Was the ferry captain not guilty of anything? I think I missed a bit there.

trisher Sun 13-Mar-16 12:24:54

Unemotional Andri? Oh come on he was heaving with it, for his kids, his ex-wife and even his F-in-law. Just because he wasn't emoting all over the place doesn't mean he lacked emotion. Humour? well murders and missing bodies isn't a barrel of laughs.

LullyDully Sun 13-Mar-16 10:47:47

We , enjoyed Trapped but my my what an unemotional, humourless bunch.

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 13-Mar-16 10:05:54

I don't think I have ever watched a show where the characters' names were so hard to pronounce. We ended up using our own version of the names when we talked about it e.g. Hjotur was Hotspur.

I think the FiL will get off because he had a moment of madness after Hrafn made the comment about Hjothur and Dagny hadn't been in the fish factory. Temporary insanity or the balance of his mind was disturbed. When Andri and Eirikur were sitting together in the cell they had a little conversation about the key and Eirikur not thinking logically. María will get off because it was self defence.

Sad ending really and not overblown like so many shows. Poor Andri is left alone and lost his chance of his family all being together again. The ending left it open for another series and I hope we get another one.

Alea Sun 13-Mar-16 08:17:07

I loved this but even at the end was never quite clear who was who (apart from Hagrid/Andri and his excellent police officer buddy Hinrika who was truly the hero of the series)
What an evil lot most if them were though - most be the long dark winters.

merlotgran Sat 12-Mar-16 23:05:40

He was part of the gang who helped whatsername (Maggi's mother) to clean up after she'd butchered whatsisname so I suppose he stole it from the freezer hmm

Luckygirl Sat 12-Mar-16 22:42:45

OK - so how did the man (forgotten his name - the one who jumped out of the helicopter) finish up with the torso on his boat and who stole it from the deep freeze and why?

NanKate Wed 09-Mar-16 06:43:35

Thanks Ladies for the suggestions. I will follow up Borgen Starbird and look for the dishy actors. grin

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 09-Mar-16 01:09:59

Tegan I get you now! grin

I loved Borgen. Think I read there might be one final series to come.

Saga is such a brilliant character. Never seen anything with a character like her before.

[Trying not to post a spoiler here] After what she's been through in the last series, I think she would react in a different way to Martin's dilema. So much has changed now and I can't imagine the path her story will take.

Tegan Tue 08-Mar-16 23:39:33

She's so sweet and vulnerable sad...

Marelli Tue 08-Mar-16 23:17:37

Loved The Bridge, too, Tegan. Saga is my hero(ine)! smile

Tegan Tue 08-Mar-16 23:12:54

I never got hooked by Borgen. To me, The Bridge, series one is the best of the lot.

starbird Tue 08-Mar-16 23:10:51

Nankate. I highly recommend Borgen as with others watch series 1
First. It is more politics than gruesome murders and has some dishy actors.

Tegan Tue 08-Mar-16 22:32:42

....Rolf was the one I didn't like...
