We were talking about it at work this week, and deciding who we would all be! I wanted to be Moira, but general consensus was, that my husband and I are more Sally and Tim! Not sure what to think about that, I haven’t even got a conservatory!

I cannot stand Mary, Gemma or that man-eater who works in the GP surgery whose name escapes me but I suppose I cannot be expected to like everybody. I do not think any is remotely funny.

Sometimes it's the 'awful' characters that make the story. They're a necessary evil!

I’ve taken to watching the ‘classic coronation st’
So well written and acted. So full of life and the juxtaposition of humour and tragedy so deftly put!
I record it then watch it when the other dirge is on!!!

Bet and Alec, so cleverly scripted, and who’d have thought feisty Gail, would have become such a drip!
Still love Mary though!

I hate having Helen Archer play Moira. When I listen to the Archers that is not how I visualise Helen.

Is Moira Helen? I had absolutely no idea!

I hate Kate Connor. Bit of a bunny boiler, very intense. Just when I think I dislike Gemma, she suddenly looks like the blustering, lost, badly raised little girl that she really is and I like her again. I can't work out why somebody hasn't decked Tracy Barlow, she is horrid, but a good character. Chesney irritates me. I loathe Claudia the other hairdresser with her pretension, she is ghastly and puts my teeth on edge.
I too wonder just how many rooms Gail's house has! Even the script writers have started to realise this and have made Sarah and angry all the time Gary sleep on an airbed!
Like Abby and Aileen, Mary and Rita, Tim, dislike his Dad though.

Yes the actress that plays Helen in the Archers also plays Moira- shows that she is a good actress as the 2 are so different!

Gary's breathless, nodding dog anxiety drives us both to distraction - they need to send him back to the Russian mafia or wherever it was he went as a security guard Gail's whispering is also very annoying!

I do like Peter, Abi and Mary has some funny lines and Gemma has quite grown on me lately. Still like Rita too.

Some of the stories they have tackled have been very well done but others seem to drag on endlessly and become boring - others don't seem to have a proper outcome.

A very young Tim turned up as a chef in Pie in the Sky the other day

I remember watching the very first episode of Corrie sitting on my mum's knee all those years ago and have followed it ever since - yes some of it is rubbish but I can't see me giving up on it any time soon!

If I’m home on an afternoon I’ve been watching the old episodes from around 1980’s and I realise just how the latest episodes have gone downhill. The characters in the 80’s were funny and the storylines enjoyable

I'd like to see the back of Leanne and Nick, and I'd shove Dev (please God, make him stop!), moany Aliyah, Sophie Kate and Seb into the taxi with them.

I do like the double acts of Tim&Sally, Mary&Tracey, David&Gail, plus Abby and Roy, but it's about time we had some new (non-whingey, non-shouty and preferably amusing) new blood.

I didn't know that Moira was Helen either. You learn something new every day.

I imagine Helen as much younger looking than Moira.
