This drama series promises to be an interesting watch with a topical subject. Here a much younger man targets a wealthy 60 year old woman. She throws all caution to the wind and goes along with it. How her grown up children react and the consequences of this relationship will make fascinating viewing.

At least the red dress she wore for the reception looked so much better than the drab, grey, woollen sweaters she wore the rest of the time.

Her hair was fab.

Are you sure that Benjamin wasn’t after her money, I’m still undecided.

trisher Wed 18-Dec-19 13:09:17

I thought it was watchable but stupid. Why did she have togo trailing off up north to uncover his past? Could have done it in ten mnutes on the internet!! And the dress! You might wear it when you are 30 at 60 you have more taste.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of others, going out on a different tangent, I think many more ‘mature’ brides would look better if they didn’t choose bridal gowns, especially if they went the whole hog previously if married before. Why not a really smart, elegant outfit instead?

Loved the ending! So glad it turned out all nice and happy. smile

Agree about the frock. hmm

Teetime Wed 18-Dec-19 11:39:29

Oh dear what a long drawn out ending - was she being a Miss Haversham trailing about in her wedding gown (which didn't suit her anyway- a trifle snug).

ninathenana Wed 18-Dec-19 11:30:18

Enjoyed the twist at the end.
I did post early on in the series that I wondered if Daniel really was gold digger and whether he would surprise us all.

Fantastic drama
Really full and true to life characters
Give us more like this

Calendargirl Wed 18-Dec-19 10:02:23

I thought the last episode was pretty stupid really. Trailing about in the woods, beach whatever in her posh wedding gown, getting it all dirty. Did she go to the wedding with it like that? I might have missed something as I watched this a couple of weeks ago, but haven’t posted before so as not to spoil it for others.
And does Alex Jennings always play baddies? A nasty ex husband in this, a murderer in Unforgotten, and the rather horrible uncle/father of Albert in Victoria?

I know this is entertainment BUT.......I note they had to have a younger woman playing the 60 year old (54 yr old with good hair!) because they just know someone who looks like a 60 year old, without surgery, just wouldn't cut it. ?

trisher Sat 30-Nov-19 20:40:34

I gathered there was money there but I did wonder why she wasn't travelling 1st class on the train! That's the trouble with millionaires they don't know what to do with it all. Now if I had a million.....!!! grin

Lisagran Sat 30-Nov-19 20:36:13

She was a millionaire, Trisher (sorry if that’s a spoiler if you’ve only watched one episode), so money not a problem...... I binge watched this a couple of weeks ago when I was ill - that may have coloured my judgement! - but I thought it was worth sticking with - quite interesting endings.....

trisher Sat 30-Nov-19 20:29:59

I've watched one episode and it didn't impress. I did wonder do very expensive hotels let you book a room as a single and then import a bloke? or do they make you pay for him as well?

Just gave up at Episode 3. Not empathising enough with the oddball collection of characters. Can't find one I really like. Suddenly realised I don't care any more, they've all made their beds and can go lie on them!

mumofmadboys Wed 27-Nov-19 22:21:05

I saw it all on catch up and really enjoyed it. I didn't think the main character was pathetic and needy at all. I felt quite empathic towards her. I'm glad there was a happy ending!

sodapop Wed 27-Nov-19 20:43:11

Oh no I missed last night's episode and can't get catch up as I live in France. What happened ?

nanou Wed 27-Nov-19 19:51:07

I think it's a good drama keeping you guessing. The cast is very good and I'm loving the fact that this older mature woman (probably a size 16) can still have a romance with a younger lover.

grannyrebel7 Wed 27-Nov-19 19:15:44

I never binge watch. I think it's like having a box of chocolates and eating them all in one go. I'm savouring it - one episode a week. It's a really good drama though as it keeps you guessing.

nanou Wed 27-Nov-19 19:07:33

So the big question? Is he a gold digger or not? don't want to spoil it for those who are still watching it.

Teetime Thu 21-Nov-19 11:51:37

I have just caught up with this. Here is my nitpick. Why was she only cooking a small chicken for a family lunch - weren't they hungry? Wouldnt feed my family.

FlexibleFriend Wed 20-Nov-19 22:02:36

blondenana
It did but it's available on demand too so those of us who are impatient have watched the whole thing.

blondenana Wed 20-Nov-19 20:47:06

I must have missed most of it, i thought it only started last week, and i thought it was on tonight, but celebrity get me out of here is on now confused

ninathenana Wed 20-Nov-19 09:56:50

I watched 2nd episode last night. I'm intrigued to know what the daughter's flash backs are all about. There is plenty to pick holes in but I'm enjoying it.

NO SPOILERS PLEASE.

Grannyknot Tue 19-Nov-19 14:48:35

I'm with oldgimmer re the main female character. I want to tell that young man to run fast, and far, and sort himself out before getting into a relationship for "lurve".

And Gfplux at least when I binge watch I know what's going on grin make me wait a week and I haven't a clue! I've been known to be watching a weekly drama and asking husband "Where is so-and-so this week?" and he replies "In a different show" grin

Gfplux Tue 19-Nov-19 13:22:47

We liked it and looking forward to next week.
What is this binge watching. Instant gratification is one of the things wrong with our world.

oldgimmer1 Mon 18-Nov-19 12:05:36

I thought the main character was pathetic: needy, droopy, unkempt and seemingly devoid of personality.

She had absolutely nothing about her (apart from money, obviously).
