Last week's postponed Strictly is on tonight at 7pm. Apparently Rose & Giovanni will be reprising their winning routine.

The dancing has been soooo good when it's only week 2. Well done to all of them.

I am voting for Richie, Will and Molly.

Loved Shirley's and Motsi's new hair styles.

Sparklefizz Sat 01-Oct-22 20:41:19

Yes, Molly & Carlos missed with the umbrellas but covered it up very well.

Calendargirl Sat 01-Oct-22 20:41:55

I missed last week’s shows, was away, and really only know about 4 of the contestants.

Some of them were pretty good for just the second week, but still found it all a bit laboured, if I’m honest.

It will no doubt improve and seem to flow better when the first half dozen have been eliminated, and they all seem more familiar.

MawtheMerrier Sat 01-Oct-22 20:41:58

Much better than last week !

Joseanne Sat 01-Oct-22 20:46:35

Tyler West for me, but then I like Dianne and anything she choreographs. Matt to leave, too much wiggling.
I agree the dance content is impressive for week too.

Fleurpepper Sat 01-Oct-22 20:50:03

Yes, so much better. Really enjoyed it.

Callistemon21 Sat 01-Oct-22 21:07:57

For Week 2 the standard was good.

IMO - I'm no dancer ?

gillgran Sat 01-Oct-22 21:19:18

Yes, I'm still enjoying Strictly, big fan, as usual.

I have to work out how to watch the results show tomorrow, as it clashes with F1 on Channel 4 !

Millie22 Sat 01-Oct-22 21:22:10

I found it a bit tough going tonight and got a bit fed up towards the end.

I do wish Shirley would stop fussing over the male dancers and then be really picky with some of the younger women. Poor Fleur was upset.

Mollygo Sat 01-Oct-22 23:18:16

It’s too long. Even if I record it and scroll through, it’s still too long, and some of the judges shouldn’t make it so obvious who they favour. Anyway I’m off to see who left and no, I won’t be sharing it.

BigBertha1 Sun 02-Oct-22 07:16:54

I thought it was full last night. I'll look back on when it's moved on.

rafichagran Sun 02-Oct-22 08:47:32

I loved Hamza, and I felt Shirley was unfair to Fleur, I really like her. I think Tony will remain as this years joke act.

Ailidh Sun 02-Oct-22 09:14:58

I watched with half an eye while crocheting.

I enjoyed it but will enjoy it more when a lot more have gone home, it's just too long.

I hate the lech-y comments, usually from Craig and Shirley, about the men. The Media have learnt that "Phoar, look at the knockers on that" is inappropriate when directed at women but it seems to be OK for "I was distracted by your tight trousers" to be directed at men.

Will nevertheless watch every week, though!!

I thought the standard of dancing for week 2 was good. There are a number of promising dancers and a few who are good just now. I also thought the pro dancers were producing challenging choreography for this stage in the competition. I really liked Will, Fleur and Richie. I thought Ellie was beautifully expressive too. At the other end I wasn't impressed with Matt. He's very stecky. (Scots word) and I'm not a fan of Kaye Adams as she was also stecky. Tony should be voted off first in my opinion.

I hope Tony doesn't get eliminated too soon.
We need some fun right now.

Was it Fleur who has the boundless energy which needs to be channelled (or words to that effect)?
Oh, lucky her, she can lend me some at the moment, I don't even feel like dancing across the kitchen.

Sara1954 Sun 02-Oct-22 12:29:45

I liked Ritchie and Giovanni, great routine, I also enjoyed Tyler and Diane.
No one I’m longing to be out tonight, but if you pressed me I would say Kay.
Grandmbatty, but what does stecky mean?

Grandmabatty Sun 02-Oct-22 12:55:33

Sara it means stiff and lacking in fluid movement

Sparklefizz Sun 02-Oct-22 15:24:04

Matt is definitely "stecky". His dancing, bless him, is as stiff as his face which makes him appear to lack any animation.

Joseanne Sun 02-Oct-22 15:45:59

My problem with Matt was that the bottom of his body didn't move with the top or his arms. He did have a good track -Night Fever- to dance to.

Calendargirl Sun 02-Oct-22 16:21:50

Somehow, I always expect former pop stars to be good dancers.
Silly, I know. Just because you can sing doesn’t follow that you can dance.

I suppose it’s because they have been supported by backing dancers, and you just imagine they will know how to do it.

Sara1954 Sun 02-Oct-22 16:24:54

Grandmabatty
Thanks for the explanation, I agree.

Calendargirl Sun 02-Oct-22 19:38:08

Robbie Williams’ pink jacket looks to be buttoned up wrongly, or is that fashionable nowadays?

Calendargirl Sun 02-Oct-22 20:01:20

All rather lack lustre tonight.

Not much to choose between Kaye and Matt really, but think he was marginally better.

Sara1954 Sun 02-Oct-22 20:09:52

Well we preferred Kay marginally, a bit surprised the football man survived.

He may surprise us ?
