The next series starts tonight at 9.00 on BBC1

tanith Sun 28-Dec-14 12:14:22

I've always wanted to watch this series but somehow never got round to it... don't think I be bothered to catch up now... shame I missed it .

Teetime Sun 28-Dec-14 14:17:30

I think it would be easy to catch up and it is well worth watching. so looking forward to it I shall record Homeland to watch tomorrow.

tanith Sun 28-Dec-14 14:22:11

Teetime isn't this about the 3/4th series though?

Agus Sun 28-Dec-14 14:41:07

Don't know if this is of any use to you tanith but if you have Netflix, you can watch it from the beginning there.

Not much on TV worth watching but I think one is.

ninathenana Sun 28-Dec-14 14:45:44

Looking forward to it tchsmile I pretty sure this is series 3

tanith Sun 28-Dec-14 14:54:12

Thanks ladies , Agus I do have Netflix but its finding time to watch at least 2 full series , I'll see how bored I get with DH off work for another 2 wks tchgrin

Agus Sun 28-Dec-14 15:01:17

I have an idea you might be watching it pretty soon tanith grin

tanith Sun 28-Dec-14 15:11:32

tchwink

Looking forward to it. The trailer is showing some very tempting storylines.

Teetime Mon 29-Dec-14 10:09:23

Oh dear how disappointing I have to say I was bored with last nights' episode- I hope it picks up.

Mishap Mon 29-Dec-14 10:13:58

I too was slightly disappointed - the main plot line seemed somewhat contrived. And the actress who plays the head teacher speaks too fast and too softly for me - I had to keep turning it up.

Follow-on series are sometimes not as good as the original - I wonder how Broadchurch will pan out?

merlotgran Mon 29-Dec-14 11:28:39

I enjoyed it. Any excuse to sigh with envy over that lovely house!

goldengirl Mon 29-Dec-14 16:20:52

I enjoyed it but it was rather far fetched. The newly found son seems a bit creepy to me. Is he after something do you think?

durhamjen Mon 29-Dec-14 16:27:54

Just to find out who his dad is, like most people.

Greyduster Mon 29-Dec-14 16:40:45

On the basis that Rupert Graves doesn't play nice guys very often, I reckon he's up to no good.

Purpledaffodil Mon 29-Dec-14 16:44:35

We enjoyed it. Know people who most of the story lines have happened to, but perhaps we just know some odd people tchgrin I think Derek Jacobi is amazing, so versatile.

nigglynellie Mon 29-Dec-14 17:37:26

Very disappointing!

Coolgran65 Mon 29-Dec-14 17:43:56

Mishap - I think Head teacher is played by Sarah Lancashire who many years ago was in Coronation Street - girlfriend of Curly Watts. smile

cazthebookworm Mon 29-Dec-14 20:55:53

So many disfunctional people, over imaginative writing, all very implausible I'm afraid. I think Derek Jacobi is miscast and boring, would be better off in a Shakespearean role, and Anne Reid plays the same sort of role she has been playing for years. Very disappointed !

Eloethan Mon 29-Dec-14 23:14:53

I thought it was good.

Jennypops Tue 30-Dec-14 00:34:38

I want Alan and Celia's quilt cover!

rubylady Tue 30-Dec-14 02:46:01

I enjoyed every second. I love Sally Wainwright's writing. She apparently got offered to be bought out some years ago but turned them down and created RED productions. Good on her, she's fantastic and someone to look up to.

NanKate Tue 30-Dec-14 19:35:58

Loved it!

Gagagran Tue 30-Dec-14 19:45:43

Me too NanKate. We lived there from 1965 (me) and all his life (DH) until 2003 so it feels like seeing "home" and we recognise so many places. The accents are good too - but did just notice Sir Derek doesn't always get his glottal stop "t'" quite spot on! It's very hard for a non-Yorkshire person to get it right and is always a give-away to we natives! Brilliant writing though.
