Heartthrobs and Turn-offs

I was thinking recently about my favourite heart-throbs over the decades.
Also which actors/celebrities actually turned me off !
My heartthrobs are :
George Clooney (just think of the Nespresso ad!)
Aidan Turner (imagine Poldark)
Tom Hiddleston (remember The Night Manager)

My absolute turn off would be ... Arnold Swarznegger
So come on GN's ....three hearthrobs and one turn off.

What fun!

Turn-ons
Rufus Sewell
Aneurin Barnard
Chiwetel Ejiofor

Offs
Aidan Turner
Daniel Craig
David Tennant (too up himself)

I might come back for more of each!

Nanny27 Wed 13-Sept-17 14:50:29

Can't agree with Mary about Daniel Craig. Sex on legs imo

NanKate Wed 13-Sept-17 14:55:56

I misread yours Annie and thought you put Barry Humphreys grin.

On

Elvis
Levison Woods
Prof Brian Cox
Idris Elba
(I prefer slim men like my DH)

Off

Jonathan Ross
Russell Brand

When I was young; Michael Rennie and Jeff Chandler were my heart throbs, and Victor Mature and Elvis were the turn offs.

Nowadays I go along with the choices of most of you...Idris, George, Rufus, Sean, although not Aiden. Turn off has always had Mick Jagger top of the list and the likes of Ricky Tomlinson, Johnny Vegas and Piers Morgan coming up behind him.

Maybe we should ask GNHQ for a Top Ten Men GNers would like to ...... Looks like Clooney would get in and probably Rufus Sewell.

Imperfect27 Wed 13-Sept-17 15:20:59

trisher ! Don't know whether to blush or grin.

jennyg Wed 13-Sept-17 15:45:52

devongirl Wed 13-Sept-17 15:55:26

Maybe we need a 2018 GN calendar!

f77ms Wed 13-Sept-17 16:07:53

paddyann you have the same taste as me exactly ! I agree about the Kilt too .

Christinefrance Wed 13-Sept-17 16:13:22

Good idea devongirl then we would be accused of being sexist or worse.

TriciaF Wed 13-Sept-17 16:16:47

Like cherryhatrick my hearththrobs were different in those days:
Best -
Kirk Douglas - he's still alive! aged 100 so no point fancying him now.
Now, my favourite is Hugh Laurie.
Like many others, can't stand Jonathan Ross or Russell Brand.

bettyboo22 Wed 13-Sept-17 16:43:43

Turns Ons
Andre Rieu
William Devane
The bloke who's behind the Rovers bar in corrie

Turns off
That Daniel Craig Bloke

Imperfect27 Wed 13-Sept-17 16:46:51

Trouble is devongirl, as tastes differ, we might have months of being stuck with our 'outs' ...

Christinefrance - we could even it up and invite the grandpas to suggest their favourites too ...

Imperfect27 Wed 13-Sept-17 16:50:55

Whoops (again) - 'offs' not 'outs'

Still can't shake off the horror of DT being on someone's 'ons' list ...

threexnanny Wed 13-Sept-17 16:52:15

I agree with most of the turn-offs already mentioned and would like to add most male MP's except David Owen.

I like well dressed men such as Patrick Grant from Sewing Bee and Dan Stevens and Hugh Bonniville in their Downton costumes -especially the military ones!

Also like to see married men wearing wedding rings so George Clooney gets it just right!

phantom12 Wed 13-Sept-17 16:55:20

Heart throbs
Mike Nesmith (The Monkees)
David Essex
Kris Kristofferson

Turn off
Tom Jones

Wheniwasyourage Wed 13-Sept-17 17:03:25

On
David McCallum (the best reason for watching The Man From U.N.C.L.E. in my opinion)
Paul Newman
George Clooney (his leftiness and his wedding ring give him extra points with me)
Henrik Larsen

Off
Jeremy Clarkson
The Donald (of course)

OK, I cheated and had too many blush

Imperfect27 Wed 13-Sept-17 17:29:15

There are so many to be had ... Wanted to add a wink there, but techy problems trying to post from my mobile ...

Riverwalk Wed 13-Sept-17 17:48:04
