What are your secrets for a happy life?

crazyH Sat 01-Jun-19 17:02:44

As Gary Barlow says:

Life is a rollercoaster, you just got to ride it ......

mumofmadboys Sat 01-Jun-19 17:02:45

I think it helps to make a concerted effort not to moan! Also to enjoy the small moments eg lovely flower, special music, a smile from someone

Gonegirl Sat 01-Jun-19 17:03:55

Yes. I have only had one life trauma. It was huge, and happened when I was a young person. Looking back I can see I dealt with it well, but there is no way I could do that again. Things are easier when you're young.

Gonegirl Sat 01-Jun-19 17:05:20

I moan. But if you don't, how's anyone to know what you're suffering?

KatyK Sat 01-Jun-19 17:05:22

Very true Gonegirl

Gonegirl Sat 01-Jun-19 17:08:12

Not sure I see the point in keeping it bottled up.

KatyK Sat 01-Jun-19 17:09:39

It's supposed to be good to let it out. I certainly do!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 01-Jun-19 17:51:12

I am only truly happy when all our children and Grandchildren are trouble free, healthy and happy.

Urmstongran Sat 01-Jun-19 18:00:32

It’s said you can only be as happy as your unhappiest child.

crazyH Sat 01-Jun-19 18:10:46

And Grannygravy - true

eazybee Sat 01-Jun-19 19:32:57

Like what you are doing, not do what you like.

Sara65 Sat 01-Jun-19 19:44:00

I think that once you accept that you can’t control everything, and the lovely little map of life, that you’ve so carefully constructed isn’t worth the paper it’s written on, only then can you relax and accept life for what it is, warts and all

crazyH Sat 01-Jun-19 19:52:46

Some great philosophers here ...well said all

Bellasnana Sat 01-Jun-19 20:15:38

crazyH, wasn’t it Ronan Keating who sang about life being a rollercoaster?

crazyH Sat 01-Jun-19 20:18:19

Oh yes Bellasnan ....thanks.....that's what age does ..?

Bellasnana Sat 01-Jun-19 20:20:50

You’re welcome! To be honest I thought it was 10cc at first but that was ‘Life is a Minestrone’ grin

Lona Sat 01-Jun-19 21:05:06

? bellasnana I just did the same and thought, "that doesn't sound right! "

Framilode Sat 01-Jun-19 21:29:44

I think living in the moment helps. Not dwelling on the past and trying not to worry about the future.

gillybob Sat 01-Jun-19 21:30:20

Mines a cold lasagne.......

Callistemon Sat 01-Jun-19 22:05:26

1. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen pounds nineteen shillings and sixpence, result happiness
Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and sixpence, result misery.
Mr Micawber

2. A loving family.

3. A love of nature brings a sense of wellbeing
