Nandos chicken, chips and coleslaw. Bertie's choice as we were birthday shopping. And, in fact he ate half my chicken and most of the chips - he's a growing lad!!

I made a big pot of lentil soup this morning, ate some at two PM and will put the rest in jars in the fridge. I am going to get a Magnum from the freezer right now..

A bowl of porridge and a handful of raisins. It’s quite chilly here so I fancied something warming. I’m making murgh makhani in the slow cooker for tonight.

I've never made murgh makhani - is it easy to do in the slow cooker?

Super easy! Some chopping in the Zyliss chopper, I like to quickly brown the meat as it seems to keep it tender, then all into the slow cooker and leave to mature. If I’m leaving it on all day I set it to low, if it’s just for a couple of hours I set it to high, but I guess that depends on your slow cooker. It’s simmering away now and smells delicious.

A special midweek lunch at our local bar for £20 of beef Ragu and a pavlova. Delicious!

Oldnproud. This recipe is more or less what I do and probably describes it better than I could grin

Home made potato & leek soup with crackers and fruit. Main meal tonight.
In the interests of full disclosure I also had two small chocolates. blush

Cottage pie with broccoli and carrots.

Things must change though because DH blood sugar is raised and so our diet will be carb free for a few weeks to get it back to normal, then avoid cake etc, which we have been eating since Christmas. We simply can’t afford to do it😢

I had some home made wheaten bread with flaxseed and chia seeds in, with a soft-boiled egg, one slice of bread with peanut butter and blackcurrant jam, delicious. I had a cup of tea or two with it and an apple later.

A taster portion of the veggie paprika chilli I made this morning followed by organic Greek style yogurt.

Brunch at about 1:30, I don’t eat breakfast. Two weetabix with prunes, blueberries and a banana, mug of builders tea, no sugar.

Greyduster Thu 23-Feb-23 16:24:54

Four Nairn super seeded oatcakes and a wedge of Lancashire cheese, and a clementine.
Dinner will be steak and ale pie, mash and green beans. Washed down with Guinness. I have been grafting this afternoon so I reckon I deserve it (anyway, it’s medicinal is t it?😁).

ginny Thu 23-Feb-23 16:27:43

Chicken, sweet pepper and 2 lite cheese triangles and a lovely juicy orange.

Fleurpepper Thu 23-Feb-23 16:30:09

Lunch today was a turkey and cranberry sauce sandwich followed by a clementine.
Tonight, dinner will be home made shepherds pie and a glass of red, followed by red berries and yoghurt for dessert.

Ziplok Thu 23-Feb-23 18:28:50

I’ve had a look at that recipe, Blossoming. It sounds really tasty so I’ve printed it off and think I might do it for dinner on Sunday. 😁
