Over the festive season we love nothing more than curling up with a good book and a box of mince pie or two. And this year there are some VERY good books indeed. So we asked all the publishers we work with to nominate one of their favourite reads to enjoy this Christmas. And here they all are in one handy list.

Better still - one lucky gransnetter can win the ENTIRE lot. Yup - that's every book featured on the page. Worth more than £500. In our book (no pun intended) that's a pretty fine haul at any time of year - and absolutely perfect for Christmas.

We just want to know where you like reading. Your answers will be put into the very large hat and a draw (made at random) will take place at midday on Weds 10 December - so the winner will receive their prize in plenty of time for the big day. All the details on the page

Nothing like a good prize to drag all the lurkers out of the woodwork.

I like to read anywhere where I can get a bit of peace and quiet, preferably out of sight of DH or I'll hear those immortal words, 'Have you got a minute?' angry

I love to curl up in bed with a good book xx

In the Winter months I like nothing better than reading my favourite book in my cosy bed with a cup of hot chocolate.

In child rearing days it used to be in the bath, preferably with a glass of wine - that being the only room witha lock on the door.

Nowadays, it's anywhere. But for preference the favouritest place is on a comfy sun lounger under a big umbrella on a hot sunny beach by a blue, blue sea.

I love to read in bed with lots of pillow at any time of day.

Isabelsnana Thu 13-Nov-14 18:37:19

On a sunbed on holiday (I wish) but in my own comfy bed is my normal place to read.

Tucked up in bed with the latest crime novel especially in winter with electric blanket on and Classic fm on very low in the background.Sheer bliss.

I'm the only one in the house who is retired so I wait for every one to go to work and then I read in bed with tea and porridge. I've read 126 books in 3 years and it's great. Please note I'm still always up and about by 8.30 am.

My absolute favourite place is on my tummy on the floor on my sitting room, with a fat cushion under my chest - and a mug of tea at my right hand smile I don't know why, it doesn't matter how many comfy chairs I have, I still prefer the floor! wink

My favourite place to read is in my bed, duvet pulled half way up, old stodgy cat, snoring away and making a very good book rest.Husband snoring away and making a very good foot warmer. My favourite place is late on a Friday, no work tomorrow, a delicious story to get enthralled in, and for those moments all seems right with my world !!

cluckyhen0 Thu 13-Nov-14 18:39:19

My favourite place to read funnily enough is in the toilet. It's the one room that I am guaranteed no disturbances smile The only problem is when I have my head stuck in a book I often forget that I am perched on the throne and that other people in the house may need to use it

SaracensGirl Thu 13-Nov-14 18:50:31

My favourite place to read has to be snuggled up on my sofa in front of a roaring fire. In the summer it's sitting on the patio in the garden listening to the birds singing and the trickling of the water in the water feature.

I have a comfy chair that both reclines and swivels, and a matching footstool. They are in my sitting room right by the radiator, That is the best place to lose myself in a book

milkflake Thu 13-Nov-14 19:04:27

In summer I love to read in the garden, but every night I read 30 to 60 mins in bed, I can't go to sleep without a good read smile

caponier Thu 13-Nov-14 19:05:28

It used to be curled up with the grandchildren as I read them a story but now they're too old! I love to read anywhere but my favourite would be beside one of the Austrian Lakes surrounded by beauty and tranquility.

haddersmum Thu 13-Nov-14 19:05:56

On the sofa or in bed, preferably when there is nowhere to go and nothing to do. Doesn't happen often!

freefan Thu 13-Nov-14 19:14:15

In the summer I love getting out into the garden and just getting lost in a book with the sound of the birds, at this time of year it's curled up on the sofa....roll on summer smile

Curled up in our slightly undersized corner armchair that hugs me in cold winter evenings!

NanSue Thu 13-Nov-14 19:14:41

I run a really hot bath and read until the water is so cold I can stand it no more, also I don't remember a night in bed that I haven't read at least 20 pages of my current book but my favourite place is the "reading room" that we have converted in the back of our garage, small and simple but warm and comfortable where I can ignore the door and 'phone, the only thing keeping me company is the mobile phone for emergencies and a glass of red. Bliss!!

bowleaze Thu 13-Nov-14 19:15:10

I love to read in our little caravan in Dorset - especially at this time of year when it's sometimes a bit cold to go out too far - with a pot of tea and some yummy local cake, the dog on my knee and my Husband out birdwatching - what more could i need!!!

Lunchtimelady1 Thu 13-Nov-14 19:21:35

Sitting in the shade on a beach overlooking the sea ..somewhere warm of course. Failing that, snuggled up in bed cosy and drowsy (only trouble is that you get to read the same paragraph several times when you start to nod off.

Yve1 Thu 13-Nov-14 19:24:28

I do most of my reading in the morning before work. I take my breakfast and my book and sit in the bath and read, eat and drink coffee.I then feel up to joining the world. Great prize Gransnet x

TaoGran Thu 13-Nov-14 19:29:02

In the bath, in bed, in the garden, in the park, wherever I can read in peace.

muskrat Thu 13-Nov-14 19:30:14

My favourite place is anywhere where I feel cosy and comfortable. It could be snuggled up in bed, while nursing a cold. Or on the sofa, in front of a crackling fire (reminds me of my 1950s childhood), or in the summer... sitting on a sun terrace at the villa in Spain, where we spend our holidays!

franjo Thu 13-Nov-14 19:31:28

At this time of the year I enjoy taking my book and a mug of coffee into the conservatory so I can still see the garden and birdlife as well. The winter sun still warms the conservatory during the day and saves on the heating bills! Of an evening I like to curl up in bed and read wrapped in my duvet
