Over the festive season we love nothing more than curling up with a good book and a box of mince pie or two. And this year there are some VERY good books indeed. So we asked all the publishers we work with to nominate one of their favourite reads to enjoy this Christmas. And here they all are in one handy list.

Better still - one lucky gransnetter can win the ENTIRE lot. Yup - that's every book featured on the page. Worth more than £500. In our book (no pun intended) that's a pretty fine haul at any time of year - and absolutely perfect for Christmas.

We just want to know where you like reading. Your answers will be put into the very large hat and a draw (made at random) will take place at midday on Weds 10 December - so the winner will receive their prize in plenty of time for the big day. All the details on the page

My favourite place to read is on the sofa in our SunRoom, especially when the Sun is pouring in, however even on the dullest of days, it is such a bright room, I can curl up and absolutely loose myself in my reading, using a lovely fluffy Cosy throw to cover me up if needed in winter.

I like to stretch out on my sunbed on the beach under the golden Mediterranean sun.

On a long train or plane journey when I have long enough to get really into the story/text. And I can do it uninterrupted too smile

Definitely first thing in the morning, snuggled up under the duvet with a nice cuppa made by OH - unless little grandson is visiting, of course, when there is NO chance of a lay-in!

I read anywhere and everywhere. My favourite places though are curled up in the armchair in the corner of the living room or in a nice hot bubble bath.

I like curling up in bed with a good book at the end of the day - I can't remember the last time I went to sleep without having read first

Malala by Malala Yousafzia

In the bath soaking - I can read until the water gets cold, then top up with hot water and keep doing that for as long as I have the time… otherwise in bed at night before going to sleep, that certainly sorts out any worries I might have from the day just gone, or the one to come. Sometimes lying in the sun, wherever I am - at home in the summer or away during the year somewhere warm. Bliss!

Happiness is a book to read with legs up on one of my 2 seat sofa's situated in my south facing lounge ... one is facing south and the other faces west ... a choice of 2 options with some time for me with a book.

On a train

I read in bed, every night, and for hours....that's my location of choice, with 3 pillows and brew to keep me going.
Needless to say, I'm alone with my chosen hardback or paperback wink.
I read at the GP's surgery, on the train, waiting for friends in smart restaurants, in short: whenever and wherever I can.
sad I doubt I'll win these books but the thought of so many hours of good reading makes me smile.

On a settee overlooking the garden with a nice cup of tea in my hand - that has to be my favourite reading place.

Nothing beats reading on the bus to turn a boring journey into one which inevitably ends too quickly

My most favourite place of all to read, is on the balcony of a P+O Cruise ship, as we sail slowly past the beautiful Ligurian coastline in Italy. I lay on the sun lounger and drift between the book and the beautiful view.
Although, curling up with a book and a furry fleece at home ,as the wind and rain lash it down, is also simply amazing!!!!

My favourite place ever to read is at the foot of Byron Bay light house with the sun shinning and the sea surrounding me - when you take a look up from your book you can see the Humpback whales breaching in the distance ..........

but when I'm home the best place to read is a nice hot bath.

My favourite place to read a book is when I am curled up in our thirty year old caravan which is sited in our garden. The van resonates with many happy
memories which span several generations of our family and friends.

My favourite book is still Rivals by Jilly Cooper but I'm making my way through the Bond series at the moment - and thoroughly enjoying them!

inishowen Thu 13-Nov-14 20:48:13

I like to read in bed. I go to bed at 10pm to give myself an hour's reading time. It's the only place with no distractions. I read until my eyes are closing and then sleep like a log!

hjw2505 Thu 13-Nov-14 20:49:42

On the bus on the way to work - it gives a lovely buffer between the demand of home and work and transports me to an entirely separate world

Scungybear Thu 13-Nov-14 20:50:39

I mostly read in bed, but if I'm really into a book I'll bring my kindle about with me and read whenever possible (while cooking, eating, waiting for people etc). The best place to read would be somewhere sunny with a cold cocktail to hand, but sadly that doesn't happen too often!

ayjay Thu 13-Nov-14 20:57:23

curled up on the sofa - but I do prefer natural light and a nice quiet day

scarlet1234 Thu 13-Nov-14 21:00:47

My favourite place to read is snuggled up in bed with a nice cup of tea - my little piece of heaven x

Ally53 Thu 13-Nov-14 21:04:19

I don't sleep very we'll as I have osteoarthritis so I read for a good half of the night in my bed, listening to the owls and other night sounds. Books to me are a real lifeline, one of my most favourite things xx

nannabo Thu 13-Nov-14 21:08:10

My favourite place is curled up on my bed with my lovely fleece blanket and a warming cuppa bliss

This prize would last all year ! In summer my favourite reading spot is in my "sitooterie" in my garden with a view over the Firth of Clyde toward Arran. The announcements from the Arran Ferry bring me back to real life. Ln winter I like to snuggle up in bed with a good book - peace perfect peace !
