The original thread has become too long and unwieldy so we're trying to streamline all the information to make it easier for everyone to keep up with what's going on.
Just so sorry, not only for her and all thos plans that will now be unfulfilled, but for her lovely and supportive family. She will be missed I am sure by so many of us here on GN.
Terribly sad news. Her poor family now have a lot to come to terms with and I hope they find some comfort knowing Carol is in our thoughts and prayers.
So dreadfully sorry to hear this news. The members of the Grannynet forum who have been holding Carol and her family in their thoughts and lighting candles for her send their sympathy and condolences to her family and friends. If there is any consolation to be found in this tragedy may it be that her life ended in the mountains she loved.
Yes I think that, too. She really loved mountain walking and must have known of the inherent dangers as all mountaineers do. She died as she lived. She will be greatly missed on Gransnet, it will not be the same without her. A sad moment indeed for her family. I hope they get the privacy they need.
I am so so sorry to read this dreadful news about Carol. It is just awful for her family, and a terribly sad loss. I didn't know her but she was obviously a much loved lady and good friend to many. And I admire her spirit in living in the adventurous way she did and doing her mountain walks.
I am not on Face Book so cannot leave messages on it so I will use this thread to express my sadness on hearing of Carol's death. My thoughts and prayers must now be for Carol's family at this terrible time for them.
