William Shakespeare is one of several writers who produced great works when stuck behind closed doors (he was in quarantine when he wrote King Lear.)

With our own 'Fifty Shades of Grey Hair' - see classics for the thread - firmly in mind, we thought it might be time for us to gather together and write a new great work between us. Who wants to start?!

I was the star in a children’s story many years ago, the details escape me, but something about tails and legs.
But now I am no longer young and beautiful. The years have not been kind....,

Got to bookmark here and say “Who was that Shakespeare anyway?”

Haha what a great lot you are. That’s the spirit. Knew our generation could cut it.

Smell a Saturday morning fry up going on somewhere so I'll follow my nose and seè if someone can spare a sausage

It’s the little cafe round the corner, sadly no longer able to go in and enjoy a full English, but whoopee... they are serving takeaways through a little food hatch.

But as he bit into the biggest sausage he had ever seen he heard the distant sound of

fearing his impending demise. But, what is this? The howling scourge isn't after him, but rather as heard the corner shop is throwing pasties to all takers.

Calendargirl Sun 22-Mar-20 08:09:38

The shop is having to close, and rather than waste the pasties are giving them away. A wonderful gesture, but only the vegetarian ones were left, this did not please the wolves who wanted the beef steak ones really.

DanniRae Sun 22-Mar-20 08:21:23

This was solved when the shop door opened and a tray of sausage rolls were thrown out........the wolves fell on them until one of the more 'woke' wolves declared "I hope these are organic????" Unfortunately this meant that ................

Calendargirl Sun 22-Mar-20 08:57:31

A heated exchange began between the (mainly) younger and older wolves.
“Oh, for goodness sake, this is a time of crisis! Who cares if they are organic or not, as long as we can eat something? If you are so blooming fussy, get to the back of the queue!

trisher Sun 22-Mar-20 09:49:34

This seemed to silence the younger wolves who happily ate more than their fair share of the sausage rolls while our hero consumed his sausage. Feeling content he was thinking how much he would like to have a little lie down, but by now every door in the town was shut and signs were displayed "Closed due to

Stock up with what? The store was devoid of all essential stuff, all that was left was apricot jam, cod liver oil and the Financial Times.
