That's awful Charleygirl, you must have been so upset
.
Several years ago I had 5 house cats; my 2 sphynx's, a tabby and my brother's 2 sphynx's. He was having a bad time and asked me to look after them 'for a few weeks'
. He lived about 300 miles away so after 6 months I told him if he didn't come to collect them that coming weekend, he wouldn't get them back.
He didn't come and I kept them.
Will you stroke Dylan too Doodle if he happens to be visiting Tara while you're there?

(1001 Posts)Hello my lovelies. At last I can open up and prepare for a wee buffet to celebrate our new refuge.
Welcome!
Smileless I have a feeling Tara and I will be visiting Doodle's abode because she wants me to clean her wash hand basins. It would have to be evening when Tara is home and she would love it. I also have two but I cleaned the other a day or so ago. Cleaning will still be required after I have shuffled off this earth but I was not planning to do that yet.
There is not a lot on TV, Amazon do not appear to be delivering here any time tonight so I will have my usual early night.
TOYA
smileless of course ?. The more the merrier. Quite happy to sit and watch others work while I stroke cats (or dogs for that matter ?)
My goodness that’s a stunning photo Lins. I love trees in silhouette.
charleygirl if it’s not a personal question, what do you do when you have an early night. Do you read or watch TV or just settle down with Tara and sleep? We don’t have a TV in our bedroom so no TV a t night but sometimes I read a book on kindle or listen to my audio book. I find it relaxing to be in bed.
I've just finished reading all the posts since my last. I do hope the dietitian gets to the bottom of Henry's allergies. I seem to remember that one of my great-nephews had a similar problem but is now a healthy 10-year-old who eats quite normally.
I have been out of action today because I was hit hard overnight by what I can only assume has been noro virus - definitely not Covid, What bothers me is that this bug has managed to get in, despite all my efforts to disinfect everything that comes into the house. If noro can infiltrate, what else can? Now feeling much better, having slept a lot and consumed only water.
Yesterday I had a delivery of fresh vegs and fish. I disinfected the lot and got most of it put away, but I fear that the kitchen (mine) is still in a bit of a mess as I had 'other things' to think about last night
TOYA and
Doodle an early night, like tonight, ends up me having a shower before 10.30 pm going to bed to read a good book for over an hour, stroking Tara as well. I try to switch off my light at midnight and then Tara leaves the bedroom to find herself another bed for a short while.
I forgot, I have a Smart TV in my bedroom but recently I have not been watching it- repeats or doom and gloom.
Soop, isn`t Mila a pretty little thing? It doesn`t seem 2 minutes since she was born. Will she grow up to be bilingual, do you think?
Cezzy, so very sorry about your dear friend.
I do so hope that Henry`s allergies can be sorted out, lovely little boys like him don`t deserve to be poorly.
I did a quiz on YouTube tonight, along with my granddaughter and several of my family. Afterwards we compared scores...…………….I came a miserably shameful last!
Lins, I love that photo!
TOYA xx
Anno
All three of my dgc were allergic to lactose. My darling daughter who was breastfeeding them had to abstain as well. All thrived on oat and almond milk and are now fine on normal diet.
It is a tad cold but the sun is shining. Apparently it will be 20C later. No doubt the morons will be out sunbathing etc. We are going to be in lockdown for longer. I am going to join the elderly and decrepit queue tomorrow at M&S because I need bread. I do not think I will have to queue for long and it will be well organised. I need little else- maybe a few vegetables.
I have given up with online delivery.
Lins -a beautiful photo.

Just wanted to say thank you to everybody for all the kind posts, messages and advice re Henry.I really appreciate them all as does my daughter.
Lovely photos of Mila,soop?
Love your palm tree too Lins.

Hello lovely kitchen people. Norovirus Anno - the worst. Take things slowly until your poor tum is strong again.
Good luck with little Henry, susan. Allergies can be a minefield to get through, but they can arrive and depart quite suddenly in small children.....it just takes an awful lot of research, trial and error - and professional support - as well as patience to resolve. Try not to worry.
A lovely photo, Lins. Sadly we’ve had to have ours removed. Even though here we’re obliged to treat them against the dreaded Palm Beetle, many trees have been lost in the S of France. Ours were infested, in spite of treatment ordered by the Town Hall ! - so ultimately had to go.
When I can get my DH to leave our kitchen, where he’s sorting out roast lamb for supper, we’ll have a feet up afternoon in the garden. Deaths in France very slightly lower so we continue with our strange routines and pray for the world and an early release for everyone. Happy Sunday and flapjacks and ☕️ coffee for you all. ?
Morning ladies. I've dropped some danish pastries off just in time for elevenses; I like the ones with the icing the best.
I hope you've had some reassuring news about Henry Susan and that he's OK
.
I was horrified when I saw how many people were at Richmond park yesterday Charleygirl. Moronic just about sums them up doesn't it.
I've just been sat outside on our roof terrace in the
enjoying a coffee. It's warming up nicely here and we're looking forward to our BBQ at tea time followed by strawberries, meringue and cream.
Normally our girls from next door would be joining us for the first BBQ of the season
but we can look forward to that for another time.
A lovely photo Lins we have 2 palms in pots on our terrace; small but lovely and they help to give a tropical feel to the place.
Take things easy today annodomini I'm glad you're feeling a lot better today but it's a horrible virus and really takes it out of you.
Looks like we'll be doing the same as you this afternoon Grandmafrench. I'll be enjoying the good weather with a book. Good news about the death rate in France beginning to reduce let's hope it continues to do so.
Have a good day everyone and enjoy the
however you can.
Stay safe TOYA
Hiya kitcheners. I did come to the kitchen door yesterday but 'words failed me' (posts kept going awry). I haven't been able to keep up fully with you all but a sincere thank you to everyone who posted very kind warm wishes. ? To you all.
Lins that is one stunning good night photo. We have one in our front garden. We used to have two but when our extension was built they both had to come out and be rehoused. Our beautiful red one died but the other has survived and flourished.
Susan , like annodomini, my eldest great nephew was allergic to his mother's milk and pretty much everything else for that matter. He was about the same age as little Henry is now when it started. He was but on a strict and limited diet and slowly but by bit foods were added. He is still allergic to eggs and nuts but nothing else. He is a healthy, energetic and strong 10 year old now.
What an absolute ? your son is soop. A fantastic achievement all round?. Mila is a bonny little girl and clearly is already exhibiting your artistic talents.
Have you thought of finding a rock hammer Greyduster, it worked for Tim Robbins in the Shawshank Redemption ?
I have to say it Charleygirl - why do today what you can put off tomorrow ?
Spent a good while yesterday on a four way texting silly messages session. Probably why my re-entry into the kitchen was so hard - tendonitis! Good pickup though ?
All I need now is one of those 1970s toys (name escapes me -bl....y aphasia) and I will be bouncing around nicely ?
TOYA
You lovely lot are just that - A lovely, lovely, lovely group of special peoples.
anno We prescribe plenty of rest and fluids. You will be feeling rough right now. Get well soon.
At lunchtime I've heaps of messages to read. One thing never changes...this kitchen is a hive of activity. Lovely!
By the way...Matt has exceeded the £1000 he hoped to raise for the charity of choice. He contemplated a walk to the moon via the stairs. After a few calculations, he thought better of it. Just as well. He doesn't need the expense of a new carpet at this stage.
I shall return.
Thank you Izabella delicious.
Well done Matt wonderful achievement.
My DGD FaceTimed me this morning to say she had to go to hospital last night. She jumped on a 2 inch spike! She was very perky this morning though. I think her DD was the most shocked. Fortunately children’s A & E is separate so hoping they did t pick up anything.
I hope have just heard the animals at London Zoo are lonely as there are no visitors!
Meant to say her Daddy.
Ouch dragonfly, that must have hurt. Good to know she’s OK this morning.
We’ve had a far too long walk, seduced by the sunshine. So lucky here as there are many virtually empty paths around fields and along the river. Cuppa and a hot cross bun next before an hour pottering in the garden. Fortunately I made no attempt to make the buns so they are edible, even the gluten free one.
Matt has done so well soop, I’m sort of relieved the moon isn’t next on his list
.
Be careful out there everyone.
dragonfly Landing on a spike will have caused your granddaughter a huge amount of distress. Thank goodness that she was attended to promptly and is feeling so much perkier today.
Izabella How did you guess that I was feeling peckish? My mouth is watering. You are most kind.
CherryC I know what you mean. Neither I nor MacSporran can recall the name. It was orange (with a face) and one sat on it and bounced around the garden. Good fun!
Susan56 How is Henry today?
Smileless I like the sticky Danish wotsits with sultanas in.
Grandmafrench My son sent me a lovely thank you to be passed on to Fat Boy's Mum
Thank you for sharing your atmospheric photo, Lins. It speaks of tranquility.
Charleyg We've been enjoying watching old episodes of 'Dad's Army'. We like the humour of 'bygone days'. No matter how many times we revisit the programme, we never fail to be amused. A little light heartedness goes an awful long way.
callgirl We've been in lockdown for about two weeks. It could be longer. We haven't been able to say hello to David. However, we still mention his name from the confines of our home.
Doodle No matter what time I settle in my bed, I never fail to read a chapter or three of a favourite book. It is, for me, a very special routine.
CherryC & Soop - Would it be a Spacehopper? ?
