DD was telling me about the grandfather of a work colleague, he's first language Welsh and quite a character by all accounts. She gave her GF an Alexa for Christmas and as he can't go out, he's been using it a lot more. However he's getting very frustrated with Alexa though as she isn't doing as she's told!

Soop,he has refused to eat anything today?So is actually looking better than he did yesterday.We have had lots of advice from lovely gransnet tees and lots of reassurance too so DD waiting now to hear from the dietician to see which plan to put into action.I think it’s going to be trial and error for a while.

Yippee, I`ve snaffled myself a click and collect slot for Thursday with Asda. There weren`t any available this morning, I only clicked on by chance tonight and there they all were, so I grabbed one fast! My youngest son is going to pick it up for me. I thought his wife would have had an NHS letter, as she has vasculitis, very diminished kidney function, but no, she doesn`t qualify.

Maybe we can post videos of our ailments to Galen for her to diagnose?

soop, I am full of admiration for Matt. If he wants to wear out another stair carpet, he is welcome to use mine. I am so impressed that he is raising money for MSF, my favourite charity, who do such noble work in all kinds of challenging situations and they must be quite stretched in the present crisis.
Galen, I can hardly wait to find out what role you will have as a dis-retired medic. I think you have set them a challenge.

I crawled out of bed today to go to a local M&S food store and join the elderly and decrepit queue 8-9am. There was no queue, only a man in front being told he cannot empty the shelf contents into his trolley- it was two of certain items.

There was plenty of everything if one was willing to pay the price which a Scot like me was not. 5 eggs £2.80, in Morrisons 90p. Loo rolls were much cheaper this week so maybe things are slowly recovering.

There was an abundance of staff shelf stacking to the point they were clogging aisles but it was on the whole well organised.

I cannot get a Morrison's slot online for love or money for this month so I think I may do a weekly shop somewhere.

I have just ordered some soap and special hand cream to be delivered to young Jackson. He has always had delicate skin but all this hand washing has reduced his hands to a bleeding, cracked and sore mess. We’ve tried a number of things but the cream almost inevitably stings and he doesn’t like it. So fingers crossed the new stuff will help .

Good morning all. Well, Monday is go get that shopping day! Hate it, so I send a very willing DH. I worry about both of us, but we have no fresh food in the fridge and we haven't been out for 2 weeks, so something needs to be done. He is sneaking into the supermarket when all sensible French are eating lunch so hopefully he'll not have any problems.

You little boy is getting very famous, Soop. Tell him he needs to time any necessary replacement knee surgery with the ending of all Covid problems, otherwise his next project might have to be lying on the couch, "swimming the Channel" in a sort of Shelley Winters/ Poseidon Adventure moment, . Ooh the shame !

Loved the references on the forum to The Queen's Speech - reminded me of the wonderful film about her own Father's speech impediment. Really enjoyed that in a French cinema. I was watching the original version, all the French watching with sub-titles. They all thought it was an amazing story.
