Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dull start here in Brackley signs of overnight rain, but its dry.
Today under normal circumstances being May Day, the local Morris Men and other groups would meet on the Town Hall Piazza from 0530 onwards .
But this will not happen today.
Tomorrow sees myself getting older at 72, but hopefully and cards will come today as no post tomorrow.
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is brighter and dry.

I’m off out to shop this morning then back home to read some paperwork and do some crafting. I made a rainbow for the window yesterday and think it looks quite nice.

Sending good wishes as some of you are having a really tough
time and hope we can have the best day possible ?

Pantglas2 Fri 01-May-20 06:38:44

Morning Mick and Beechnut and all who follow- dry and bright north Wales, let’s hope it stays that way!

Will clean the kitchen this morning after breakfast (no FM today Feelingmyage55 and yes, he was dressed as he dished up!)

Might make few cards later - I’m feeling a bit crafty as well Beechnut then a treat - some chilled Chardonnay while sat in front garden chatting to neighbours busying away in their gardens!

Stay safe everyone x

May Day. Greetings all.
Nothing much again today. Walking to the farm shop for asparagine rhubarb, vegetables too.
Stay safe and we’ll...

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s a beautiful start to the day. A pinch and a punch to you all.

The sun’s up, the mountains are clear with sharp outlines, the wood pigeons are noisy and I can smell the scent of the pine trees. The buildings opposite are coated in a pretty apricot wash and I can see Malaga city quite clearly in the distance on the curve of the bay. Mornings like this make one happy to be alive - nature is so gorgeous when you stop to really look.

May 1st.
We’ve been in lockdown for a full seven weeks, since Saturday 14th March. We are allowed out from tomorrow! I imagine tonight’s 8pm clapping will be very emotional. ‘Well, we did it neighbours! How are you all? Are we ready for release tomorrow?’

Friday = steak night. Plus a special red - a lovely soft Ribera to share.

Hope Friday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning all from dull West Berkshire.

Weekly shopping trip this morning straight after the vulnerable slot , my highlight of the week .
I love my car and driving and really miss it , so the 10 mile round trip plus choosing some yummy stuff is my weekly entertainment.
I like grocery shopping anyway and cooking generally.

No other plans other than listening to my audiobook whilst making soup and cheese scones for lunch .

Have a good day .

Good morning from Leicestershire where the weather could go either way.

Dexter survived his operation yesterday but I brought home a very stressed dog. I was told to give him half a paracetamol which seems to have helped him get through the night. The good news is that the ulcer is a little smaller so hopefully it will continue to shrink. He is still snoring so will keep away.

Zoomed with DD and SiL last night. Thursday is their date night so they chose to spend it with us. Think they also wanted news of dog.

Hopefully a more normal day today.
Hope Mary and Gilly are feeling better.
Stay safe every one.

Good Morning everyone from Oxfordshire.
Looking a bit grey but will brighten up I think.
Urmstongran Yippee you must be very excited to be allowed out after all this time and thank you for the lovely description..can almost picture it.
Notagran Enjoy your drive and shopping trip!
Dragonfly Wonderful to hear Dexter is on the mend.
Work now but looking forward to a Friday night glass of red later.
Best wishes to all and stay safe

Sark Fri 01-May-20 07:19:10

Urmstongran just realised it is tomorrow that you're allowed out...sorry I was getting over excited for you there!!grin

Good morning Mick and everyone. Pinching and punching by social distancing to all!

It's raining in my corner of Cheshire, but it's brightening from the east. I ran outside in my nighty to chase away a squirrel from feasting on my roses and it's chilly at the moment. Well it is in a nightdress.

I had the most lovely day yesterday as people had realised I was on a wobble the day before. I had my favourite dark chocolate left by my door. Later my doorbell rang and there was a lovely bunch of flowers on the doorstep. To top it all off, a neighbour rang and said she was in M&S and did I need anything. So it's sea bass for dinner this evening.

I'll walk at 9.00 as the sky is clearing nicely. I'm going to try to catch the binmen and give them a tip.

Take care out shopping or working. Have the best day you can. flowers for all.

Puzzler61 Fri 01-May-20 07:25:10

Good morning Mick and everyone. Dragonfly, It’s a relief Dexter has got the op over with and not surprised he’s feeling stresses. You must have been too. I wish you a calm day today while you all get over yesterday.
Urmstongran Your description of the day dawning near Malaga made me feel uplifted too - but you do realise you’ve pinched our great weather? ?
Enjoy being let out, you’ve coped well in a strict lockdown. Well done.
It’s a patchy sky in Worcs. could go either way. Not unusual for a May Day, it’s still Spring.
We clapped last night for NHS and Carers, and even more neighbours were out than usual. We all waved to each other from afar.
Today is a blank page fore Me - no plans but I shall enjoy seeing how the day unfolds. It’s nearly the weekend, Yeh! When Mr P and I crack open a couple of bottles of wine with our Tea. Got a meal coming from local Cote Brasserie restaurant who are delivering to Home (to help them exist in these difficult times). I miss meeting my friend and having Brunch there. So we’ll be eating French - Beef Bourgignon with creamed spinach and mash.
Have a safe day shoppers and a good day to all. ?

NanKate Fri 01-May-20 07:26:29

Morning Mick and All.

Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits, carrots, carrots, carrots. That’s what my family say on 1st May. ??????

Cloud and sun here in South Bucks.

Going to the Farm Shop for some supplies. Everyone circles the small shop in a clockwise direction with social distancing. It’s so liberating to be doing something relatively normal.

Tomorrow is Saturday Mick so you should get some Birthday post then.

Please to hear of Dexter’s improvement. ?

brook2704 Fri 01-May-20 07:30:04

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Inverness - the rain has arrived up here now and looks like it’s staying for a while
We did the regular clapping last night with most neighbours joining in waving and cheering across our front gardens ...
Good news about Dexter dragonfly I hope he continues to improve
Whoooo hoooo Urmstongran I bet tomorrow will be exciting for you .... !!
Nothing different planned for today, I’m going to make carrot soup for lunch and then the usual walk in the local area
Hope everyone has the best day they can and take care if you need to go out ?

Sar53 Fri 01-May-20 07:38:01

Good morning everyone from a cloudy/sunny Essex by the sea. I think the weather is in two minds as to what it wants to do.
Bed changing and ironing today and a walk later if it doesn't rain.
Have the best day you can and stay safe everyone xx

Good Morning from a bright Fife, it's rather nice out at the moment, I hope it stays like that. It our DGS'1 4th birthday today and I cannot believe we are not going to be celebrating it with him, it makes very sad. However I know it's someone's birthday every day and we are all in the same boat. He knows there's a 'bug' going about and can't see us so he understands a bit. DD sent a picture last night of all his parcels and balloons she has for him opening this morning. We will FaceTime him and sing Happy Birthday this morning. Dragonfly - good news about Dexter, sure he will feel better as the days go on. Hoping everyone is feeling fine today and remember - keep your chin up! Take care.

GrannySomerset Fri 01-May-20 07:49:20

Feeling more upbeat this morning as I am shortly off to join the socially distancing queue at Tesco’s elderly hour, like Notanan the highlight of my week.

Fine at present after a wet night so maybe a little walk with DH later. Have a good day, everyone.

kittylester Fri 01-May-20 07:54:17

Morning all from a bright North Leicestershire. It was pouring at 6.30 but the rain has stopped.i do still miss PRINTMISS on the 1st of the month. She always quoted the 'Pinch, punch' thing so thank you Urmston.

I love the way the 'clap' is spreading here. We live on one of the main roads out of village so the houses are not very close together but it is creeping up the road.

Had a lovely chat with a friend yesterday and it does lift the spirits.

Friday is steak night here too,! We have always had a special meal on Friday - usually steak - since we got married. I suppose it was a date night but, back in the dark ages, we didn't call it that.

Tonight its fillet with stilton sauce as someone had opened two packs of stilton and it wasnt me!!!

Making bread and butter pickle today plus some pork burgers for the freezer.

Enjoy your days everyone and stay safe.

Grammaretto Fri 01-May-20 07:57:20

Good May Day Morning all from the Scottish Borders. Looking overcast here but we were glad to have rain for the garden.
I am glad about Dexter's improvement Dragonfly
I am sorry about your missing the DGC's birthday. Brunette Happy Birthday to him.

We missed our wee girl's last month but I think she had a nice time. Her friends sang via zoom while she blew the candles.

Excitement for you Urmston!! I wonder how it will be when release comes. I imagine a bit like getting out of jail.

dragonfly46 Fri 01-May-20 08:01:48

kitty what is bread and butter pickle?

NannyJan53 Fri 01-May-20 08:03:09

Good Morning from a dull and grey Black Country, but the forecast is for sun today.

For some reason, when we joined in the clapping last night I felt very tearful, it really sank in that this was real! Also, an ex-work colleague lost her Dad yesterday, only 5 months after her Mum. Determined to feel more upbeat today.

Whoooo hooooo Urmston released at last! I well remember 14th March as we were halfway through our holiday in Lanzarote, and suddenly we couldn't go anywhere! Sad that we won't be going to Malaga in September, but we are safe and healthy, that is the main thing at the moment.

Pleased to hear that Dexter is improving Dragonfly

Will clean upstairs today, and downstairs tomorrow, eke the jobs out a little! smile

Wishing you all the best day possible

Lins1066 Fri 01-May-20 08:04:59

Good Morning Mick and all from a dry and brightish S Welsh coast. Went for a walk yesterday evening and it was cold and windy, a shock after all the warm weather.
Glad that Dexter is safely home dragonfly, you and your DD must be so relieved. Well done the vets.
Looking forward to some deliveries from the local greengrocer and butcher this morning, also a Morrisons delivery for the first time. How will we cope with the excitement ?
Have a good day and stay safe.

Gingster Fri 01-May-20 08:06:07

Good morning all. Mayday, mayday, make the virus go away! I bet you can’t wait for tomorrow URMSTONGRAN. You’ve done so well , with no grumbles and light hearted banter. ?. Enjoy the lovely weather over there. You deserve it. ?. It was my neighbours birthday yesterday and she s on her own with no family, so we got her flowers, chocs and a little birthday cake. I asked her over to sit with us in the garden , found a sheltered spot as it was a bit chilly. so we had afternoon tea with her and it was lovely. Hope MARYDOLL feels better and GILLYBOB getting some help. Have a gentle day. ?

brook2704 Fri 01-May-20 08:07:19

Happy Birthday to your DGS Brunette ??

Pittcity Fri 01-May-20 08:09:08

Good morning from an overcast but dry Colchester. Rain due again later. We survived April it's only up from here.
There's no Saturday postal delivery atm Nankate, so Mick might have to wait.

aggie Fri 01-May-20 08:10:35

Good Morning all , grey and cold here in Co Armagh , but the rain has helped the garden , resurrected some nearly past it perennials
My crochet and card making is benefiting from the cooler dull weather too as I have taken it up with renewed energy
Here’s hoping for a lovely May , blossom and sunshine
