Will I be picturesque or a patient?

Hi all,
There is a family gathering when it is safe and I already have my outfit planned (jumpsuit, wrap, bag) and I am toying with the idea of wearing heels. I do have chronic pain but I will be getting out of a car and walking into a hall, plus I can walk in heels.

There will be plenty of photos at the gathering so I want to look amazing, especially since the photos will be printed.

I won't be doing much walking at all and I have plenty of people to hold onto so will most likely manage but is it a stupid idea? X

There are jumpsuits and then there are jumpsuits like this one.https://www.karenmillen.com/tuxedo-wrap-jumpsuit/AKK98113-147-24.html?istCompanyId=dfd62749-7a70-423e-9199-65ac094a6cab&istFeedId=b4f6b05a-7ad0-4b3a-a4d1-ca21f80b5036&istItemId=ipaiqtilq&istBid=t&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0rr4BRCtARIsAB0_48PxqoIaTQHZYxu86r9cLYvjYP-d-vbBA-sM0EiLKqXINtu0LCJ87LoaAjn3EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

You HUSSY, Chewy!

Chewbacca Wed 15-Jul-20 22:25:22

I'm thoroughly ashamed of myself. blush

Have a look at this one..... I look like an Everton Mint.

Puzzler61 Wed 15-Jul-20 22:31:51

With a figure like that Chewy you could wear a bin bag and look great ?

Marydoll Wed 15-Jul-20 22:32:18

Chewy, I hope you aren't trying to lead Flying Handbag astray? You are a disgrace!

Oh my word Where on earth did you find that ? Did you just google “ really hideous outfits “ ?

BlueSky Wed 15-Jul-20 22:42:48

FlyingHandbag I too love your threads, they bring some cheerful lightness but do be careful if you do wear heels ? !

Almost right Lucca! And to be honest, some of what I found just astounded me! And a lot of them were modelled by KK, she of the famous American reality "star" family. Which proves that having loadsamoney doesn't always equal good fashion sense or taste I suppose.

Obviously you might not want to and of course that’s absolutely fine FlyingHandbags but is there any chance of you posting a picture of yourself at the event in your outfit?

As for the shoes conundrum, how about lowish heels which could look stylish yet be a bit easier for you to walk on ?

Trainers? Absolutely not. They are only for running or some kind of sport or for going to the gym.

I think they completely ruin any other outfit. Why pick a lovely outfit only to ruin it with clumpy sports shoes.

It looks so wrong.

At £350 a pair, the last thing you do in trainers is run in them! Even brides wear them on their wedding day, as depicted.....

JenniferEccles Wed 15-Jul-20 22:57:06

Sorry but it still looks wrong to me, even on the expensive ones in the bride picture!

Personal preference of course!

BlueSky Wed 15-Jul-20 22:57:27

I'm with Chewbacca here I too love trainers with flowery dresses so they are no longer just for sport Jennifer!

Party planning - a cheerier upper. flyinghandbag you could wear the ballet flats and offer up an arabesque, but no pirouetting if you want to avoid the wrong kind of sensation?

Starblaze Wed 15-Jul-20 23:06:21

Look up butterfly twists. Really pretty little fold up shoes. Can pop them in your handbag for if you get unsteady

Feelingmyage55 Wed 15-Jul-20 23:07:46

I might have to go online and look for sparkly trainers. They would really wind up my ACs so I’d get a lot of fun. I’ve never bought shoes online but there’s always a first time. I always wished they made Doodles for grownups.

What about these or the same ones in silver. And they're on sale! X

It's giving me something to look forward to. X

MerrylS - that is a beautiful jumpsuit, very classy!

FlyingH - i think you can find some reasonable heels that have enough stability with a bit wider heel, and are elegant. These are naturalizers. I'm sure you could find something similar.

Loislovesstewie Thu 16-Jul-20 05:27:30

I'd be more concerned with having a wee!

Marydoll Thu 16-Jul-20 07:21:46

Loislovesstewie, modern jumpsuits are designed make it easy to go to the loo.... or you could just hold it in! ?
