Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight here in Brackley this morning , but it is also dry , hoping for a nice day .
Small shop, and settle down to watch the drama of todays stage of the Tour De France unfold in the Alps with a mountain top finish .
Yesterday on the buses number still low ,as though people have been misled into using it although for many its an only means of shopping etc .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from Colchester where it is raining. The sun is promised by 9am and another warm day. We had 30 here yesterday.... too HOT!

I thought I was being followed by the police yesterday too, Yellow. They were obviously looking out for groups of youngsters.

Weekly coffee meetup in the park this morning. We split into groups of 6 or less. Don't know how long the park weather will last though and think we might be going back to online meetups unless we can find a cafe that will take a regular group booking. Our previous one hasn't reopened.

Good Morning from the south side of Glasgow where it is breezy but not too cold.
Another day of isolating in readiness for next week so getting on with reading and knitting if I can manage to concentrate for longer than two minutes. If only I could train my mind to stay in the present.

Urmston that was such a nice thing to do! Good morning All from a grey Polmont. I'm having a fairly quiet day today after babysitting for two days. I'll visit mum but that's as far as I'll go. Then the plumber, who should have been yesterday, is arriving at twelve o'clock to hopefully fix the leak from the washing machine. The rest of the time I will potter and only do what I fancy. I have a pork fillet that needs cooking so that will go in the oven at some point. Gingster happy birthday to your little dgd. My thoughts go to all those with worries. Pantsglas safe journey back tomorrow.

Well done urmonstansgran to your husband. We are all struggling and helping each other will get us through. Hope everyone has. A good day. I’m at work soon after a hot night in the NE.

MawB2 Wed 16-Sept-20 08:28:16

Good morning all after a very sticky night.
Today would have been my darling Paw’s 73rd birthday so you’ll excuse me if I don’t write much except that I was privileged and blessed to share my life with this gentle, principled man who is always in my thoughts

Good Morning Mick and all from our corner of the S Welsh coat. Sea mist descended on us last night and is still hanging around. A very warm night for sleeping, had to throw off the duvet. A walk this morning, some ironing and a Sainsburys delivery this afternoon. A kind gesture from your husband Urmston. Stay safe everyone.

Marydoll Wed 16-Sept-20 08:32:34

Maw, ? You were indeed blessed.

Kalu Wed 16-Sept-20 08:35:58

Good morning all from a grey start yet again in Glasgow, hoping it follows the recent pattern of grey start becoming a pleasant sunny day. ?. Likewise brook, 20deg. and I’m happy with that.

A satisfyingly constructive day yesterday as I tidied the ever spreading Cirsium Rivulare, acanthus and iris. The ceanothus I bought recently is growing well, two new acers not so well. Boy am I paying for it this morning with a few sore muscles. ?

Happy birthday to your DS kitty. 49?.DD1 was 45 at the beginning of the month and I too thought, how did that happen? The years have flown by.
Hurry up with that throw Mellow Yellow
Happy birthday also to your GD Gingster and your GS Georgesgran. ???

Thinking of Gwen and Hazbeen

Best wishes for a pleasant day all especially for our friends who are missing at the moment. ?

Kalu Wed 16-Sept-20 08:43:36

Thoughts are with you today Maw . It is indeed a blessing to share your life with someone special. ?

Good morning Mick and the GM team from a currently grey east London.

The temperature is forecast to be a little cooler today, which is pleasing. It was 30 degrees here yesterday, too. We ate our supper outside in the garden but as the nights are growing darker, we found it was quite dark by about 8.00pm. We had the garden light on, the kitchen and utility room lights on and a candle on the table ... Nevertheless, it was pleasant to eat in the cool of the garden.

I have work and admin to do today.

Good wishes to Hazbeen, Gwen, Georgesgran, gilly. ? for *Bluesapphire, Dragonfly and Cherry and all the Good Morning-ers facing challenges today.

Urmston you brought tears to my eyes, generously giving some money to a local musician. How lovely.
My partner is a musician and most of his gigs have ‘dried up’, though he has all his students on Zoom lessons now, so has retained that income stream. We know lots of musicians who are having a really difficult time. One very talented woodwind player we know, who has a PhD, has spent lockdown refurbishing old furniture and selling it on line ...
I think you and your DH are very kind. ?

Have a good day, all.?

I can only imagine your sadness today Maw. A poignant post. x

Nortsat Wed 16-Sept-20 09:04:42

MawB have a gentle day, surrounded by your loving memories. ?

MellowYellow Wed 16-Sept-20 09:13:57

MawB a virtual hug.
Mr Urmston, that moved me.
Kalu, were you in my flat watching me this morning ha ha? I've been up since silly o'clock piecing the throw together. Trying to include pockets which 4 year old can put her little teddies in. Another month till her birthday phew.

Lins1066 Wed 16-Sept-20 09:19:22

Maw a poignant day, sending you ?

Roses Wed 16-Sept-20 09:25:09

URMS lovely kind husband you must have felt very proud

Mapleleaf Wed 16-Sept-20 09:25:40

Good morning all,

It's a different day today - grey, cool and slightly breezy. Quite a contrast to the warmth and sunshine of yesterday. I doubt very much that I will be reading my book outdoors today. What I do plan to do us plant some spring bulbs, to have something to enjoy come early spring.

I'm so sorry to read of so many troubles that many GM's are experiencing at the moment and send you all good wishes. ?.

Maw thinking if you, too, today. A poignant day for you. Take care. ?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 16-Sept-20 09:26:40

Good morning Mick and all,

Misty and warm (and getting hot) here in S E Essex.

MawB2 thinking of you ?

Urmstongran what a kind man your husband is ???

Gerorgesgran I do hope your husbands appointment has a positive outcome ???

I am so tired........having had the 8 month old GS all day, picked up his brother from school (5) the five year old wanted to swim which meant 100% supervision whilst the baby explored the garden.

Five year old had a sleepover, so he has had a cooked breakfast before being dispatched to school (next door but one from us).

Washing (where does it come from?) is on the agenda for today.

Thinking of all our missing posters ???

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

lovebeigecardigans1955 Wed 16-Sept-20 09:28:04

Morning all from South Notts where the weather isn't really doing anything just yet. It was very warm yesterday and I unexpectedly got an invitation to visit friends in their garden (five of us sitting apart so not breaking any rules) so my intended drive of yesterday will now be this morning instead.
The previous day I'd got a phone call to invite me out for lunch which was jolly nice. I've gone months without seeing anyone so it has been very pleasant - everything comes at once.
Your throw sounds delightful MellowYellow with those pockets for teddies and I'm sure we'd all love to see a photo of it if you can manage it.
Birthdays are always difficult MawB2 aren't they? We must try to look on the good side if we can.
Hope all is well with everyone, especially those with illness or worries.

Kalu Wed 16-Sept-20 09:30:07

I love the sound of your DG’s throw MellowYellow especially the pockets for teddies? Your GD will love it. I know anything ‘made by Granny’ is always well received by our two GDs.
