Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight here in Brackley this morning , but it is also dry , hoping for a nice day .
Small shop, and settle down to watch the drama of todays stage of the Tour De France unfold in the Alps with a mountain top finish .
Yesterday on the buses number still low ,as though people have been misled into using it although for many its an only means of shopping etc .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good Morning everyone. I’m ironing (with my new ironing board cover ...ooh, get me living the dream) and DH is pool vacuuming in hot sunshine. We shall go out to buy some new garden pots later. In peace now the tourists have gone, but in masks. So pleased it’s all outside.

Worrying day for you both, the Georgesgrans, stay focussed and strong. x. Hope you’re feeling better, Gwenand take it slowly, Hazbeen.

Sar because of all the delay and confusion, (if it was me) I’d make sure I had enough facts to make a decision, by finding the best Surgeon for the task, getting a letter of referral from my GP (assume you still need those?) and then making an appointment to see the Specialist privately. You’ll get the time, the advice, you can air any concerns - is it urgent etc., what about recovery times, ask whether he/she or the Secretary will be able to advise on costs of the procedure. Then you can make a decision later about whether you will wait for the NHS or have private surgery. At the moment, otherwise, you possibly have very few facts upon which to make any decision.

Don’t remember who, on here, recommended Gone Fishing. I love it! Thanks so much. Watching it on iPlayer. Gentle conversation, loads of laughs, wonderful scenery.....and even a spot of fishing!

To all and anyone struggling.....warm wishes and a hug. To everyone unwell, ??. To Maw hold him tight in your heart for always ???

Keep safe everyone and have the best day.

Morning Mick, Annie and all. It is rather dull here, But hoping it will perk up later, although, not too hot please!

I am feeling so fed up, not like me at all really, but this year has just got me down, and I can't get up again. Apologies.

We are going out later to see if I can get something for our DGS ?

To all who are the same as me, {{{hugs}}} and flowers

Have a good day one and all

HAZBEEN Wed 16-Sep-20 10:09:17

Good Morning all from a slightly cooler Surrey. Had a really funny night, lots of vivid dreams and broken sleep. I cant remember most of the dreams but do know some involved Spain and the sunshine, must be missing our life there! We lived on the Costa Blanca near Alicante for 10 years and came back to the UK 10 years ago. In fact that's where I met my OH, he's from this area, couldnt have been a Spanish senor could it!!
Thank you to everyone for their kind wishes and thinking of all the others who are going through a bad time. GNers are the best tonic and pick you up when things are rough!
Stay safe everyone and have the best day you can.

Good Morning All x ( if I can type through glazed eyes )
Urmston and your DH, you're two kind people xx. flowers
Maw x flowers

Weather could buck up later. Some mist first thing showing up the dewy cobwebs outside-----and a couple inside grin I reckon it'll clear up as the day goes on. It's not cold though.

Quite an unexpected afternoon as I trundled along to the local shop. Sitting outside a little cafe was Glammanana and her relative so I stopped for a chin-wag and a catch-up on local news. Then we were talking to local restaurant owners who've got the most beautiful eating place. Rockwood, a very recommendable place. It's online/ Facebook too.

I was talking to the lady owner who I've known for a number of years, the most beautiful person you could meet and on leaving she told me not to hesitate if I needed anything and just ring the doorbell. How kind was that ?
Anyway, about 2 hours or so later we parted company and I was " bursting " inside to know such lovely people.

Once home, I started talking to a neighbour in the garden who'd been stripping the climbing passion-fruit which had strangled all the other plants and she'd been working really hard so had been having a breather.

I was telling her about my phone so she set-to and phoned my D, as she knows her and has her on Whatsapp too. Apparently a BT engineer had rang D to say he fixed the line-----not at my end he hadn't, so I went into neighbour's and rang them myself leaving my neighbour's number to get back in touch. Nothing up to now.

Nevertheless neighbour and I and D (on the phone) had a good laugh and D was saying that her dog ( small horse ) had a large growth removed from his bottom and it cost £1,000 !
The dog is nearly 12 and is now as lively as a cricket. Vet said he was a strong animal----a Pyrenean/ Bernese mountain dog, and ruined !

Anyway, we'll see what happens with the phone today. When I do the 1471 to test it, I can hear it very faintly but it's not right at my end. Why doesn't someone come to see me and see/hear it for themselves ? I haven't got the plague for God's sake.

Apparently the fault at " their " end was ancient wiring which was renewed, so why not do the same at my end ? Dozy blighters. No wonder D calls me Victor, as in Meldrew grin

Ruby-Lou was put on a train at Durham last Sat. morning and D picked her up at Lime St. Liverpool. Bless her, being allowed to travel that distance by herself-----I was shocked !
She stayed with my D and her siblings until Sunday teatime. She's being privately taught at the on-site school in Durham. I can't help thinking what a privilege, costing a fortune but she's doing well.

Thinking of those who have health problems and worries xx
Also our " absent " friends during these tough times.flowers

Enjoy your day everyone and stay safe.xx

Big brother making the most of the weather (or Grandma making sure he is tired for his sleepover ?)

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 16-Sep-20 11:14:19

Good Morning all from nondescript Harrogate. I did get home yesterday. Thank you for your good wishes GN posters. I'm not in pain, just feel generally yeugh!! My main ambition for today is to keep the antibiotics down!!
I know my GD is starting school next week which she has finally just about accepted, but she is most unhappy that 1.she cannot take her own toys, and 2. Her uniform is blue with black shoes - she wants to wear pink!!

Hope everyone has a good day, and those not well soon recover

Good morning from the north of Scotland where it is still only 9 degrees. Finally having brunch as I had to be up and out at 7 when it was even colder. I am hoping for an Indian summer to get the garden tidy before winter. Today seems ideal to plant up the spring bulbs and I’ll have to cover the pots with mesh to protect them. I have just finished watching The Fall on Netflix so I’ll have to find another series but maybe something gentler for an evening.
To all with health problems in the family, my best wishes and to those finding it just too quiet hopefully an opportunity to have garden visits to cheer you up.

A late good morning from a very chilly S Lanarkshire, I was out early and just getting round to reading all the posts. So much worry at the moment for many of us, I am remembering everyone who needs support especially HAZBEEN, Gwen and Georgesgran. I liked the picture of your husband Mawb2, he looked a kind man, such a great quality.
A lovely action Urmstongran, it lifts your spirits when you are reminded how good people can be.
Safe home Pantglas and a good day to everyone.

Annaram1 Wed 16-Sep-20 11:25:00

What on earth do the early posters get up a such an ungodly hour for? Before 7 am for Gods sake!! No point! Stay in bed until 8.30, its better for you.
Yesterday I decided to see if it was worth getting up at 7 am. Yes, it was a nice experience, sitting in the garden with my coffee, but definitely a one off!!!
Have a good day all, and to those unwell, I hope you feel better soon.

Mapleleaf Wed 16-Sep-20 11:50:21

I suppose it's because some GN's are early birds (larks) and others are more akin to owls! ?. Personally, I slot somewhere in between, I think. ?

Georgesgran Wed 16-Sep-20 11:59:53

Thought I would pop back in to wish Maw a peaceful day and to thank everyone for their earlier concern. So kind. Unfortunately, the CTscan results weren’t available - there’s a backlog, so Consultant has requested priority. He says he’ll phone the result, if he gets it soon, otherwise DH going back on Tuesday to attempt the treatment again. Injection this am to try and boost blood cells.
And so it continues ........... x

Rather late good morning from the Scottish Borders. It isn't exactly raining but looks ominous.

No wonder you are tired Grannygravy with those lively boys. I only had our 2 for about an hour at the weekend and that was quite enough. They were staying at their other DGP who are younger and fitter than us.

I am sad that we will have to miss her 3rd birthday next weekend because of the new rules, but she has given me her cold to remind me of her.

You and your DH are very kind Urmston I hope your friend can find some work to give him an income.

Best wishes to all those struggling with worries and pain.

Thinking especially of you today Maw flowers

Jaxjacky Wed 16-Sep-20 12:24:45

Annaram1 I’m always up early as husband is for work and if I’m awake, I’m dressed and up, whatever day of the week or I’m an annoying fidget! We do go to bed about 10 as well though..

EllanVannin Wed 16-Sep-20 12:25:55

I give up here !
What has BT done to my broadband ? Emails I wrote a week ago are bouncing back to me and my Ebay account which " got lost " nearly 2 years ago has appeared and blocked out the new account which I had to make in its place-----Why Me ??

It's obviously been the telephone system all the time after me buying 3 phones over the years thinking it was the phones shock
I feel utterly helpless ! I can't even shout speak to anyone.

I'm going to have to go against the grain and buy a bloomin' mobile phone if only to shout at someone grin Ebay here I come.

EllanVannin Wed 16-Sep-20 12:28:16

I'm going to go mad and eat paper in a minute grin

Urmstongran Wed 16-Sep-20 13:40:55

I feel your pain here EV! Your blood pressure must be off the Reicher scale.
?

I might sometimes seem to be an early(ish) poster Annaram but that’s only because Spain is one hour ahead of the Uk!
