One thing I forgot, I have to inject the blood thinners into my stomach for a full 28 days, that did shock me.

I had to do that when I had a fracture, ann.

What I did was to position the needle, close my eyes then push and inject. You may find you get a few bruises but that's normal, I think.

Eek, ann, four weeks of self-administered injections! I only had two weeks and that was enough, albeit done daily by district nurse. You are doing brilliantly, after only two nights in hospital. Take it easy and look forward to eventually being able to go out and about again. xx

I'm glad you're on the mend Annsixty. My friend had to inject blood thinners after her particular op and felt like a pin cushion but it was worth it. Puzzler61 the flowers are lovely and just what is needed on this very grey and wet Monday. Dgs is having a nap so I'm having a rest. The Doghouse bunch should be back soon, I hope. I look forward to them posting again. An afternoon of splashing in puddles awaits me. ?

Grandmabatty the Dog House is a bit crowded. Hopefully one will be leaving it today.
For those still wondering the fourth in the DH is a gran, by name of Lisa. Can’t put the name together - but you can - or I may be sent there too and there is not enough room!

N&G, if you need any help getting rid of your tunnellings, I have some suitably baggy trousers and am right behind you! Mind you, if I go on piling on weight like I currently am, they won’t be baggy for long, so I would call on me while you can!!

Welcome home to you annsixty onwards and upwards now. I had to inject blood thinners for three months last year after a foot operation. It's the thought of it at first, but then it's fine. I'm sure your appetite will return soon, I swore by white toast and a baked potato! Get plenty of rest and don't try to do too much too soon.xx

Such lovely flowers Puzzler I’ve been trying to buy some Freesias for months with no luck I adore the smell.

I’ve been changing the bed putting my warm sheets and Winter quilt on, dang that thing is so heavy I’m toying with idea of buying a smaller quilt as the king size bedding is so hard to handle and only sleep on half the bed maybe I could just adjust the size of the quilt covers I have to save buying new.
Also popped out the garden and tidied up, I also dug a small trench and threw in some new potatoes that I found sprouting under the sink thought maybe I’d get some Christmas pots.

Now it’s lunch time I think cheese on toast with leek and potato soup as it’s now raining. Have a good day ooh and Hi to the DH.??????

I’ve been through a very dark patch but hopefully on the up now. After several kicks up the bum!

The kitchen is so warm and inviting and I could sit in the rocking chair by the stove and have a sleep! Not slept much lately. I’ll bring along a fruit loaf and lots of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Oh and hot toddies are back on the menu for later.

Stay safe and sane - not easy.

Purplepixie The rocking chair beside the stove has been reserved for you. I've draped the cashmere rug over the arm. Light and cosy for your knees. Stay as long as you wish. Us lot will keep our voices down. When you've rested, we shall serve tea on the best china. Does that suit? Good!

annsixty Welcome home dear lady. Such good, positive news. Please do as you are instructed by the experts. Be gentle on yourself. Allow your body to heal for as long as it needs to. No rush. You are on the road to recovery after a long and troubled wait.

Our friend in the village, who died recently, is to be buried tomorrow after a private family service. The villagers will line the route from her home to the kirk. I shall miss her. She was one of the good gals. Always volunteering her services in times of need. She will be remembered fondly.

Hellogirl1 Everything is beginning to fall into place. Continue to take what help you need. Lynne will be returning home when the time is right. We shall celebrate the event.

Those Granspals who have been incarcerated...haste ye back. We are ready to welcome you back into the kitchen.

If well wishes are a sign of good things to come, Ann, you’re going to get better and get your life properly back. You’ll be helped by lots of uncomfortable Kitcheners who finally can unlock all their crossed fingers! Well done you. But please be good, continue to take your GD’s help for a while, you’re not Superwoman, do the advised ‘moves’ but take plenty of rest. Your body will still be very shocked. Had you had surgery in France (I have a friend with an English hip and a French hip, so I hear all the comparisons) you’d have a Nurse visiting every day for injections, advice and reassurance, for 1 month. Not sure whether the injections would be any more fun..., but I think it might be nice to feel that support was there.

Dear Daisyboots hoping so much that the Oncology specialists in your Son’s UK hospital have come up with some treatment advice, moving forward. Stay strong ??

Off to Vet later with ? smallest, stripey and most uncooperative cat. She has peed in the bath twice and ignored spotless litter tray. Methinks a problem? Are we downhearted? No. She will behave badly as always but we need to get her checked for a possible UTI. ?

We’ll both need a hot chocolate after that, I suspect. Alcohol, chocs, cake, bikkies.......life? has (temporarily) been cancelled due to diet. Going so well, though, so must be good.

Keep safe all, in these soooooooo very worrying times.

Ann I had to give myself those injections every month after chemo. I pinched the skin and put the needle on it. If it hurt a little I found another spot but usually it went in easily. The thought is worse than the deed but so pleased all went well for you.

Callgirl that is quite a dilemma. I can understand Lynn wanting to come home but it would be easier for your to get the room sorted out first.

Thank you for all the lovely messages that have been included since I was last here in the kitchen. You are all the tops.

Have done some ironing and shed a tear or three. Why? I feel drained of all energy. Drop-bot is getting more troublesome by the day. Letrozole medication for breast cancer is continuing to knock the stuffing out of me.

However, I have much to be thankful for. MacSporran hugged me and made a cup of tea and, well, that helped no end to kick the blues sideways.

I need to think on regarding the shoe box fillers for a wee girl in need of something to bring a little cheer into her life. So far, I've an array of art materials. I shall add a colourful woolly hat and gloves. I'm also looking to add a small cuddly toy.

Soop, I missed your post. I'm sorry you are struggling! You are a real star to think about us when you have your own issues to cope with. You have a star mate in MacS.

It is our son in laws mum's funeral on Thursday. He is devastated and no coping very well at all. We cant go, distance and numbers, but will watch on Zoom and hope he knows we are there. Silly times.

I had a call from the hospital this afternoon. The care package is sorted, commencing on Thursday, first visit 9.20pm, transport home has been booked for 2pm. All I have to do now is remove all the junk that was put in there during the decorating!

Good morning the kitchen! We are returned from our flying visit to North Norfolk, refreshed by lots of avocets, Brent geese and other exciting birds! Good job we were only away for one night as someone (DH) forgot your put down extra plates of cat food. There was enough dried food to feed an army but that is not much to sir’s liking. Lots of complaining last night!
So much to catch up on in 48hours!
