This reminds me of the village fete a few years ago.
An evangelical church group set up their stall next to the tombola and placed two of their members in front to offer hugs to passing strangers. I am not sure what their objective was, but we got an awful lot of terrified customers as they scuttled past to avoid the hug.

There was an AirFrance stewardess on the Heathrow to C de G route years ago who was known to the regular business travellers as Attila The Hen. I definitely wouldn’t have offered her a hug, she was terrifying ?
