Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and its wet outside here in Brackley , still the effects of continuous heavy rain .
Did make up some curry yesterday , ready to place in the freezer today.
Apart , form the mail , which has been early just lately ,and of course with the lockdown , I have got into the habit of snacking and putting weight on.
Take Care ,

Good morning from a clear dry E Kent. We’re forecast sunshine today!
I have contacted grandmafrench who is fine, it’s just that the days don’t have enough hours at the moment. She is helping her DS with emigration paperwork and not only is it complicated but he speaks little French. Sends her best wishes and will dip in and out when she can.
Our little town made the national papers as we haven’t had a CV19 vaccination/centre yet. No one I know of any age has received it. Perhaps that’ll light a rocket under our less than efficient surgery.
Spanish class this morning, otherwise same old...
May today bring 😊 smiles and ☀️ sunshine to everyone’s souks. Stay safe.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. A dark wet start, not surprising after all the rain yesterday. My neighbours have been having some heavy digging done and yesterday part of their garden looked like a pond.

I’ve just gone through yesterday’s gm and wish MrE a belated birthday 🎂and see you had some good news Jaxjacky and BlueSapphire.

Some pottering, maybe a walk to deliver a letter and a vegetable chilli to make.

Have the best day you can all 🌷

Good morning from Malta where it is much warmer today than of late.

When I got up to make my tea I put my Karcher on to charge so I can clean the patio doors in the front room later. I’ve been putting it off even though it’s only a five minute job.

Hairdresser later and that’s about all the excitement for the day.

Have been watching the news and seeing some awful weather conditions in the UK. Take care everyone and stay safe.☀️

Morning all. Seems to have stopped raining here on the south coast and the wind has dropped a bit. 6.4c just now.

We are expecting a Parsley Box delivery today as recommended by Mick so will be interesting to have them in the cupboard to try out when I don't feel like cooking. Got £5 discount and free delivery so price was very reasonable.

DH is going to an appointment this morning - at the tip. It does feel odd to have an appointment for that especially when he can't get one for his next surgery! It's green waste which has accumulated in bags and we don't have room or inclination for a compost pile.

DD's cv test was positive, as I expected but DGS's was negative, which we find odd. She is feeling grim but DSiL is a little better. I sent her some flowers in a glass jar which gave her a little cheer.

Hope those waiting the jab soon get an appointment and that we all have as good a day as possible. We will get through this. sunshine

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and wet.
A normal work day today, yesterday I was off and had a lovely surprise as DD called and asked if I would have DGS for her whilst she cleaned the house as he seemed to be following her around making a mess. She said “just say no if you are busy”. Haha, I am never too busy for a day playing trains and cars!!
Gaga that does sound strange your DGS being negative.
Hope none of our GM friends are suffering with floods on top of everything else. Take care everyone and stay safe today ❤️

Beauregard Thu 21-Jan-21 07:03:51

Good morning all. The rain has finally stopped but it's colder.

An early shop today, so I'll be off in a few minutes.

I managed to improve yesterdays curry by adding butter, sweetener and cream. DH has requested I buy croissants for breakfast this morning. 1st February is the date pencilled in for the diet to resume!

I hope the heavy rain hasn't caused flooding issues for anyone. Stay safe.

Good morning Mick, morning all from S Lanarkshire where the snow has frozen over so it will make for tricky walking later.

We spent most of yesterday glued to the tv watching the inauguration, the young poet was fabulous.

A Sainsbury’s delivery will be the height of today’s excitement.

I hope everyone has a good day.

NannyJan53 Thu 21-Jan-21 07:24:30

Good morning from another dull and grey Black Country

Off over to Mums shortly to take her to her 9.40 Doctors appointment. She has been sent to a Medical centre 30 mins walk away up a steep hill. Her GP surgery is less than 10 mins on the flat! I am not having her walk all up there!

Hoping your DD will have a mild dose Gaga. My cousins DD had a few weeks ago, only symptom was loss of taste and smell. The rest of the family were negative!

Wishing all a good day

GrannyGravy13 Thu 21-Jan-21 07:27:49

Good morning Mick and all

Well we had horrendous rain and winds during the night not much sleep for me. If DD is feeling better today they will go home. Then I will have beds to change and little fingerprints to remove.

Keep safe and well folks 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all from my soggy part of the world. Yesterday it rained all day here in Torbay and the wind barely abated.

Thank you for the warm responses to my photos of our Little Theatre. We think it is rather special and look forward to using it to the full before the end of the year.🤞 Prior to the pandemic, we produced 10 plays a year, interspersed with one night stands from tribute bands, comedians and longer runs booked by other local amdram groups. One of the most memorable was Eddie the Eagle who, besides being an interesting speaker, was also a thoroughly nice chap. He joined us afterwards in the bar where he requested tea!

My heart goes out to those with family and friends testing positive for C-19. In a telephone consultation with my GP yesterday, she spoke positively about her expectation that the numbers of cases would reduce soon, with the availability of the vaccine playing a part in that. Unfortunately, Torbay has seen a surge recently after remaining low for several months.

Thinking of those with heavy hearts and wishing you some relief and as good a day as possible to everyone. 🥰

Grandmabatty Thu 21-Jan-21 07:33:18

Good morning all from a snowy Polmont. It isn't too thick thank goodness. Day four of babysitting ahead and I'm glad the snow isn't too heavy as they live up a hill. Nothing planned. We walked to the swings yesterday and played in the house. It'll be more of the same today. I,too, watched the inauguration yesterday and was quite emotional at the decency of it. Have a good day all.

Marydoll Thu 21-Jan-21 07:35:00

Good morning all from a cold Glasgow. Don't trust Alexa! She says we have snow, but we haven't!!!! Kalu do have our share up at yours?

Iv'e had a particularly bad night, so feeling a bit grim. I have a Zoom lesson with Dollie, but mum will be there to support, as she finished her job yesterday.

I bring some good news for a change.
I had a phone call from the hospital yesterday to say that my new RA consultant had reviewed my notes and decided the risks of not having the vaccine outweighed the risks of having it. It seems that my recent heart attack has pushed medeeper into that abyss of being extremely, clinically vulnerable. So I am to have it!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Ten minutes later, my phone pinged with a message from the Scottish Govt shielding service to say that as a shielder I would be having my vaccination by the middle of Feb at the latest. How quickly things can turn around.

Gaga, sorry to hear about your daughter, but glad to hear there is a slight improvement for your son in law.
Beauregard, you have reminded me that I have a tin of Jus Roll pre baked croissants in the fridge. I have never tried them before, but thought they might do in an emergency.
Borrheid, you asked why DH wasn't golfing. Its winter greens and DH cannot source winter wheels for his type of golf trolley anywhere, so no golf, I'm afraid. We have one very unhappy golfer!!!

I cannot believe how fortunate I am. A friend phoned yesterday to tell me that my acquaintance who was admitted to the same hospital as me, on the same day as me, has contracted Covid in hospital and is now very ill. The other acquaintance who was admitted at the same time died in hospital, also from Covid.
Life is so fragile just now. Carpe diem, should be our mantra! Their poor families.

Wishing everyone the gentlest of days.

brook2704 Thu 21-Jan-21 07:42:43

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve had more snow overnight and it’s cold and icy outside. I might just go for a short walk in the woods as it looks so lovely in the snow but apart from that I’ll be staying in. Yesterday I did quite a big grocery shop so no need to go out for anything really
I envy your hairdressers appointment Bellas oh how I wish I could get my hair done.. !
Sorry to hear about your DD test gaga let’s hope she doesn’t get too poorly and your SiL recovers soon
Thank you for the update on grandmafrench grandmattie, good to know all is well For everyone with really bad stormy snowy weather today, please stay safe and take care especially if driving.
Hope the day is kind to everyone, take care whatever the day brings 💐

Sparklefizz Thu 21-Jan-21 07:42:46

Good morning Mick and all GNs from a very wet and soggy South Glos. The rain was dreadful last night, but my heart goes out to all those poor souls, some of whom are shielding, who have now had to evacuate their homes. Hope all GNs are safe and dry.

Phone calls to make today plus I need to sort out why Netflix on my new TV is "buffering" (I only learnt that word last night smile )

Thoughts to everyone who's struggling or unwell. Stay dry and safe. x

Nannytopsy Thu 21-Jan-21 07:43:50

Good morning Mick and the gang.
What a blowy, wet night! It’s still very windy in our bit of Suffolk but it is now dry with a golden sky in the east. We hope to spend a bit of time tidying the garden.
I would have loved to watch the inauguration yesterday but we had DGC so it was school work and episodes of “How to train your dragon”.
I hope everyone is safe after the storm.

Urmstongran Thu 21-Jan-21 07:45:05

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where’s it’s currently 4°C. At least the heavy snow that fell around 9pm last night has cleared! I didn’t think it would have as it was quite thick and still snowing when we went to bed.

Gtr Manchester has weather alerts for flooding. Saw on the local Granada news last night that residents in Didsbury were being evacuated from their homes. That’s only 10 miles away! Poor people, imminent flooding, having to ensure valuables weee upstairs, heavy snow and some shielding from the virus. A logistical nightmare I imagine.

Shopping downstairs in Sainsbury’s today. We work as a team, I write the list and think what food we need to last until Monday and Himself puts on his coat and goes down in the lift to get it!

I don’t usually snack Mick but like you I have these last few days for some reason. Boredom? Dry/damp January? Note to self - keep out of Thornton’s! I ate 2 bags of their chocolate in the last 2 days. I have gained weight (even more). I can’t tell you what I weigh as then I’d have to kill you.

Hope Thursday is good to us all. We might drive the 10 minutes to visit my stepfather this afternoon and take any shopping he might need... now we have the car back! Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

brook2704 Thu 21-Jan-21 07:47:45

Good news about your vaccine marydoll 😀👍

Nannytopsy Thu 21-Jan-21 07:47:55

Bellasnana I envy your haircut too! Glad you can have your vaccine Marydoll and hope it’s sooner than predicted.

Elizabeth1 Thu 21-Jan-21 07:50:05

Good morning everyone from a dark, wet, windy and a little snowy east coast of Fife.

I guess it’ll be a lazy Netflix day today especially after the birthday boys hilarious day yesterday where I think I possibly overdid my exercises causing a fatigue to set in in the evening.

But oh what fun we all had and well worth it the chocolate orange cake which arrived for the birthday boy was delicious and instead of rooting around for loads of candles we just placed a large green one we had lurking in a kitchen drawer in the middle of the cake and got Alexa to sing along she comes in real handy at times. Unfortunately she doesn’t respond to my voice just my dh and ds voices cheeky mare.
My recent daily dance exercise took us to Italy yesterday (I wish) who doesn’t like vo lari?

There’s the bin men poor things I wouldn’t like their jobs in this freezing weather. I take my hats off to these unsung heroes and the many others who never get a mention. ie the home schoolers, the dog groomers, grandparents etc. Keep warm out there you lovely people don’t risk these slippy conditions stay warm drink more tea, coffee and indulge in whatever takes your fancy have a lovely day. smile

ginny Thu 21-Jan-21 07:51:25

Good Morning all. Not raining at the moment but still breezy here in N. Bucks.

I have a WI , Denman collage zoom talk this afternoon , a family quiz to sort out and a Katsu curry to prepare. I think this must count as an exciting day.

Hope you all find a 😁 today.

Sar53 Thu 21-Jan-21 07:55:05

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it has brightened up after a very wet and windy night.
I too watched the Inauguration yesterday and thought the young poet laureate was brilliant.
Supermarket shopping is this morning's fun 😆, I'm in and out as quickly as possible.
DH heard yesterday that a youngish man he knew from the local yacht club has died with Covid, so sad.
Have the best Thursday you can and stay safe everyone xx

Urmstongran Thu 21-Jan-21 07:57:18

Oh Marydoll why not rest up today dear lady? You’re feeling grim and Dollie’s mummy is home and could do the schooling today. Pace yourself while you can!

Sparklingfizz I too love the word ‘buffering’.

Gaga sorry to hear your daughter has the horrid virus. Not unexpected but it’s still awful to have confirmation. I hope she & hyour son in law recover soon without any problems.

Lins1066 Thu 21-Jan-21 08:03:36

Good morning Mick and all from a rain lashed S Welsh coast with lightening across the channel, the rain was incessant all night. Yesterday wasn't too wet during the day and we did manage a couple of short walks. We watched the Presidential inauguration yesterday, an historic day with America's first woman Vice President. Biden's speech was excellent, he seems a decent man.
A friend emailed yesterday with details of a zoom Murder Mystery by a local theatre group. later this month, sounds good.
Cleaning and cooking in Chez Lins today.

Have a pleasant day everyone and stay safe.

Susan56 Thu 21-Jan-21 08:17:28

Good morning from a very wet Shropshire.

No childcare duties today due to flooding.Five people were rescued from their cars last night not very far from here. The village next to DD’s village is being evacuated.People had tried driving down DD’s lane as an escape route and got stuck with floodwater over their bonnets.

Luckily their farm is on slightly higher ground, the cows are all inside so should be safe🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Good news you can have the vaccine Mary but please take it easy.x

I watched the inauguration ceremony yesterday and thought Amanda Gorman was brilliant too.

I am another envious of your hair appointment Bellasnanna, I should have had my hair done yesterday.Think the root spray will be coming out soon!

Thank you for the update on Grandmafrench grandmattie.

Hope you had a more restful night last night Cherry🤞🏻💐
