I’ll probably offend a lot of people with this one, because I know it’s very widely used, but I cannot stand nanny/nan/ nana used for grandmother. It really makes me cringe.

My goodness, I didn’t realise I was opening such a can of worms.
I expect someone will say they hate ‘can of worms’ now!
As someone previously posted, we’d better not all meet as we’d be scared to speak for fear of annoying someone!

‘Birthing’ a baby, instead of ‘giving birth to’.
Sounds so wrong.

And it doesn’t actually make me cringe, but I do wonder why a very new infant is nearly always a ‘newborn’ now, instead of a new baby.

Amazing - it’s over-used. Passed instead of died. Panties - creepy! Belly - don’t know why but I don’t like it. Tits - can’t say it and I hate it!!! And the expression “super excited” or “super keen” or anything super, really.

'Tits' is plain ignorant as referring to breasts. 'Tits' is a form of 'teats' which are nipples not breasts.

The phrase "going forward" everyone in the media says it after every sentence at the moment and "unprecedented" ( not sure thats the correct spelling!)

I'm all for them! They provide an opportunity to exercise one's artistic, creative juices, as many classicists have long demonstrated ; as we say "Clarse beats Harse any day of the week!

You could also be ‘gathered to your fathers’ Rufus - that’s quite a nice old-fashioned one and rather more elegant than what my dds often use - ‘cark it’.
