RO mance and ICE cream (American) instead of roMANCE and ice CREAM(English).

Because that makes me think the speaker learns how to pronounce from bad films made in the US for a mass audience.

??? RoMANCE. Maybe but equally I’d say of a film “it’s a RO mance “

"Gob"! I would have thought it would be obsolete by now, but obviously not, looking at some posts.
Reminds me of an English TV satirical take-off prog. called "Gob of the Day" following "Goal of the Day" a very serious Sports prog back in the 1950s/60s probably before most of you were born
It was a Power Point display similar to the Goals. Many perpetrators performed as soon as they trotted onto the pitch, much like to-day's lot.!
What also brings that to mind and no disrespect intended, is every time I see players "Take the Knee". at the start of each game! {

I have come to hate the word "virtual" in this pandemic. If I can't have the real thing, I'd rather do without.
When someone says "we are pregnant". Only one of you can be pregnant not both.
I was told off as a child of using the work "chuck". Throw was the acceptable word to use.
The phrase " come to your's", as in come to your house.

What about “he’s got my back”
meaning being supportive and empathetic, I think. Where did that come from? I find it slightly irritating. BTW I always say toilet (not sure what’s wrong with that) or loo. Does toilet mean washing then? It didn’t mean that in our house when I was growing up and it doesn’t now. I’m just off to the toilet now .......

‘Going forward’, ‘like’ - as in I, like - rest of sentence !! The word ‘literally’ makes me shudder as it’s mostly used out of context and often paired with ‘like’ !!
