Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright and sunny here in Brackley this morning .
Today for me a quiet day of housework , shredding etc , followed by cycling on TV this afternoon.
Mind you watching cycle races , seems in Europe as very touchy area, with maybe key races being postponed or channelled n France and Belgium etc , due to covid outbreaks this 3rd wave could easily enter UK .
Take Care,

Oopsadaisy1: yes, I believe there are cruise ships around Poole and Southampton but I shall be overlooking Torbay on my walk as I live in Babbacombe. In normal times (remember those days?!) ships would shelter here from storms but the pandemic has brought various ships here.

A local professional photographer has some wonderful shots of them, two of which I’ve bought in readiness for my DS's 40th in November! This is the website:-

Good morning from ANOTHER sunny morning here in Essex. We did an hour or so in our very small garden yesterday and we were shattered! We walk everyday so I thought we were keeping fit ...ish! Lockdowns done for us! 😰. Will do another hour today. Just weeding and clipping really.

I’m on my smart new I Pad. The other one had really died. It was 7 years old and heavily used so it had done me well. My lovely DIL came round and set it all up for me. Good girl that she is.😘.

DH has a dentist appointment this morning. He kept getting texts saying his appointment had been cancelled. In the end he phoned them (got through eventually) and said he really needed to see the dentist. His usual one has gone private 😳.
He still hasnet received his blood test results after two and a half weeks of trying. Can’t get through to the surgery and when he does the receptionist says you’ll have to speak to the doctor. Can’t give you an appointment, so phone back tomorrow. 😤. And so it goes on and on! .

Ash your flowers are beautiful from you lovely DD. I love freesias. The smell reminds me of my cousins wedding where I was a bridesmaid, 55 years ago and we had freesias In Our posies. 💐.

Sheep you really look after you animals so well. Little Pinchy is thriving, thanks to your care. 🥰

Thoughts with little Louis. It isn’t fair little ones have to suffer.
Hopefully all will be well. 🙏

GG let’s hope the sunshine calms and brightens you ☀️. I know what you mean about the News. We’re all living on a knife edge, wondering what’s going to happen next. Take care.

oopsadaisy well done to your DD pushing herself on. It’s not easy when you’re in pain. 🌺

Have a pleasant day all . ♥️

Morning Mick and All.

Sun and cloudy in South Bucks.

Off to have my hearing test, long over due. I suspect I will need to update the one aid to two. I tell DH he mumbles as talks to me when he is out of the room, so I have no hope of hearing him. 😏

Gillybob has been in my thoughts too. I will send her early Easter greetings and tell her both Kitty and GrannyG have mentioned her.

What lovely flowers Ashcombe hope you are feeling better. 🌻

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton. Will probably try to get the front grass cut at some time today. Sainsburys is delivering this afternoon. Lamb moussaka ragu tonight from the freezer, just have to reheat it and cook some pasta.

Spent another sunny afternoon in the garden yesterday; finished off the digging, then completed trimming the grass edges which took ages. Had an aching back after all that!

And then try to figure out my knitting pattern. I have never been stumped before by a pattern, but am pretty close to it at the moment. Hoping that I won't have to give up on it.

Hope we can all find a bit of 🌞 today.

Good morning Mick and all. Cloudy here on our part of the S Welsh coast.
Lovely flowers Ash, enjoy your walk. Glad to hear that Pinchey's sore is healing and that her splints are doing the trick.
Pleased to hear that Gagagran"s husband is doing well. Thinking of Tanith's grandson and hope all goes well for him.
Not sure what we will do today, it is our daughter's birthday, another spent in lockdown. We will have a takeaway of her choosing this evening and a walk at some point.
Have a good day everyone and stay safe.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Light cloud and intermittent sunshine for South Yorkshire at the moment. A walk later and the we may be called upon to do the school run. DD is having to work. I’m quite excited at the prospect although there is no school or run involved - just a case of being there when he gets home. I am mourning the death of my iPad this morning. Battery has finally conked out☹️!
Take care, friends, and stay safe!

Grandmafrench Thu 25-Mar-21 08:15:07

Good Morning everyone from a deep blue-skied South of France with wall to wall sunshine.

GrannyGravy - you know the saying “no news is good news?” That might avoid us all unnecessary worry but I take that literally sometimes. No news for me these days is me refusing to read one more tale of the rollercoaster of doom which runs through the media every day and can destroy our natural optimism, our zest for life, our motivation at one fell swoop. A day or two away from all that rotten news, I find, really helps. Give yourself a break, maybe, and allow emotions to get back on an even keel. And, if you aren’t able to change what’s happening, stepping back might just bring a bit of blessed relief. Hope your wobbles get the old heave-ho today! 🌹
sheep you’re allowed a greenhouse. Lovely for you. Bit concerned that the words ‘wallpapering table’ were mentioned! Hope that’s just a useful surface for your seeds and not another job on your list. All free time should be spent in your garden with a radio and little Pinchy for company.😂

Love, love Freesias, Ash, a lovely thought. Is it likely your Mojo has travelled all that way, gelisa? Maybe your DH will come across it and bring it home to you. Enjoy your trip!🌸

Had an unexpected trip out yesterday evening. I defied the curfew and escaped quite unexpectedly on a TV prog., covering a 7 mile hike along the Cleveland Way to Whitby. I was blown away by the sheer grandeur of the scenery, the sweep of coastline, of beautiful farmland almost to the footpaths near the cliff edges. Imagine climbing over 200 steps in some places to follow the contours of the land where it seemed that the walker (an artist) had the world to herself. I was thrilled to see a place unknown to me and not have to share the views with loud commentaries, even louder Muzak and background noise. Real escapism. Possibly why I always find brook’s lovely photos so uplifting - being outside now is so important for our emotional well being, I feel.

Today I shall wash the floors. My dear dog will have her hairdresser visit today. No difference in our routine. She arrives in 😷 and parks her ‘work trolley’ next to a big garden table in our courtyard. Chloe stands on the table to be stripped etc., and then the groomer takes her into the shower and shampoos and dries her. She is then brushed outside. The dog loves the groomer, we can chat outside from a distance if we want. I clean when she’s gone. Everyone happy, especially the dog who then spends quite some time racing into and under big shrubs after our other dog - to show she doesn’t place too much importance on personal grooming, thanks 😂. A darling dog we had years ago used to give us maybe 20 mins of admiring her new loveliness when we’d driven her back from the groomers and then would creep off if she could, to stand in the lake and wag her tail and bark. Can’t imagine what she was saying about pampering sessions and country 🐕 dogs!

Hope everyone feeling poorly feels better today. Especially, Auntieflo, Mary daisy in Portugal, cherry and posters who aren’t currently up to posting. GM hugs to you all. To those who are struggling or sad, to those who have family worries, may today be brighter and filled with endless 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩 and as many 🦜🦜🦜🦜🦜 as you need. Let’s all try to look towards the light, keep on going and find some small thing today to lift any flagging spirits.

Warm wishes to you all.Get well, Louis and get strong Iris.

Have a good day, folks. 🙋‍♀️🌴🌹

Good morning it felt very cold here in Leicestershire although the sun is shining.

Must do some housework today!
Then NWR tonight on Zoom.

Nankate I didn’t know anyone was in touch with Gilly. How is she? Please pass on our good wishes, we miss her!

grandmajet Thu 25-Mar-21 08:17:16

Good morning from a dry and bright Nottinghamshire. Doesn’t it lift your spirits when the first glimpse of the day is a blue sky?
I didn’t get to clean my fridge either, Beechnut, something more urgent like reading my book cropped up! I did actually do a little bit of weeding so the lure of the outside got me too. Maybe today for the fridge.
I’m intrigued by the term ‘up with sparrowfart’, Pantglas, do you know where it comes from?
I have a face to face clinic appointment this afternoon to see what can be done next, always a bit unnerving, I think our car could find its way to the hospital without us now!
Have a pleasant day everyone.

Marydoll Thu 25-Mar-21 08:21:37

Good morning all from Glasgow, where we are expecting rain.

I had some good news yesterday. Since I am not allowed out until I get my second vaccination, ( probably beginning of May) , my lovely hairdresser has kindly offered to come to my home, wearing PPE, to cut both my daughter's and my hair. There is so much cutting of your own hair you can do, without causing irreparable damage. 😆

I'm glad to hear Mr Gaga is making some progress and that Tanith'sgrandson has come through his op.
Pantglas, fantastic news about the second jab! Also sending best wishes to Luckgirl for her house move today and hoping Georgesgran is doing OK. 💐

I have nothing planned for today, apart from trying to work out how to fit everything in my new pill organiser. Blister packs from the pharmacy are no longer an option, as my medication is forever being tweaked. I was concerned about missing doses recently, on the days I have been unwell in bed and decided to be proactive. DH was overwhelmed by the amount and was afraid of making an error, despite a timetable being taped to the medicine cupboard door.
My previous organiser was no longer suitable, but this new organiser promised to hold enough for my needs, however there is still not enough room. ☹ It will be a challenge fitting them all in , like a tangram maths puzzle and I do like a challenge.

I had trouble getting to sleep last night, after reading an upsetting post on another thread, ( I'm probably too sensitive), where a poster accused another (nameless) poster of constant oneupmanship on a daily thread. There are only two threads of that ilk, as far as I'm aware!
It set me thinking that her accusation of bragging (the poster was keeping score) could potentially apply to me, albeit being unintentional on my part.
It talked about the said poster always baking (me), always buying (me, I can't get out to the shops) and ill health, (me). If the cap fits........
If she did mean me, I would like to say that my ramblings are just my way of organising the conversations in my head, as I very rarely see other people. Shielding is indeed a very lonely and potentially solitary life.

Wishing you lovely people as pleasant a day as possible and the strength to cope with the pain and sorrow life has thrown at you. 💐

ginny Thu 25-Mar-21 08:25:42

Good Morning all. Not sure what the weather has in store for us in N. Bucks. We shall have a walk but otherwise it’s a bits and bobs day.

DGS 1 FaceTimed yesterday to show us his new hairstyle and it was quite a surprise to see that he had dyed his very blond hair black! He also asked if he could come for lunch in the garden during his time off collage. Oh, yes he can !

Healing thoughts to all who need them . Hope everyone finds a 😁today.

Jaxjacky Thu 25-Mar-21 08:25:47

Good morning Mick and all from a high cloud/sunny spells S Hants. Thanks for sharing those cheering flowers Ashcombe they’re well deserved.
Good news on your DH Gaga every day a little further, and sheep, your energy amazes me. GG I share your roller coaster, up down, up down, hoping for an even keel soon.
I spent yesterday morning with hands down the toilets! Our lime scale continues to defeat me and the new paste made no flipping difference, ideas anyone? I’ll sow some more seeds indoors today and sort out some clothes. Have a gentle day all, may your wobbles be tiny and your 🦩 in flocks.

GrannySomerset Thu 25-Mar-21 08:26:10

Looking forward to the delivery of our sitting room chairs, back from the upholsterer. Then only DH’s ejector seat to come and we shall look much smarter if and when we ever have visitors again. I will get pleasure from them anyway.

Otherwise life continues to consist of meals, constant clearing up and little interest. But the garden is full of spring flowers and the birds are very busy, so it definitely feels like spring.

Dwmxwg Thu 25-Mar-21 08:31:57

Good morning all from north Surrey. Started off blue skies but clouds are taking over.
Haven’t had chance to read previous posts but did see your beautiful flowers Ashcombe, how thoughtful of your DD
Yesterday was a busy morning with PT and visit to mum and dad’s to clean and do our daily check in. We did have a laugh as mum said she needed more toilet rolls. My dad went out to the garden shed (which they use for storage as their bungalow is so tiny), he came back in with two huge packs of toilet rolls 😂
I was so tired yesterday evening I didn’t even want to eat, I think a catch up from busy days and poor nights sleep due to sore eyes.
Boys have been fed and cajoled into their uniforms and DH has taken them to school. I need to get going as I have optician appointment to check if anything going on and then DS has asked me to pick up some bicycle tyres which he has ordered. I am looking after his girls (age 3 and 6 months) this afternoon as mummy has appointment with her boss to discuss returning to work after maternity leave. She has asked me to stay for bath time so DH and I will be doing split grandparenting. I hope our AC realise how lucky they are (I think they do).
Will pop back later to read all the posts. Hoping those with wobbles are feeling bit more positive today. 🦩🦩to all

Grammaretto Thu 25-Mar-21 08:33:55

Good Morning from the sunny, chilly Scottish Borders.
I felt proud of all the admin stuff I managed to get done yesterday including reading the meters and writing to the council and to my solicitor.
I went outside to sit in the sunshine and found one of my garden chairs was not there! Stolen?
I had left them outside to look welcoming but not to be taken.
I can't sit out the back because the workmen next door are creating dust and making noise all day. Woe is me.
I may just have to play on the computer and go for a walk later.

I hope your DGS is making good progress tanith
These are real worries. Sending hugs and prayers to all who need them today flowers 🦩🦩🦩
and flamingos

Alygran Thu 25-Mar-21 08:36:14

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s a little bit cloudy today.
Grandmafrench it’s lovely to read about your ‘escape’. The Cleveland Way is up on the moor not far from me at some points. I’ll try to attach a photo from the western part. I’m looking forward to getting back on the moor when we are allowed to travel that far.
It’s local walking today with a friend for company. Day 25 of my challenge so nearly there!
Sending hugs to all who need one today.
Stay safe.

Jaxjacky Thu 25-Mar-21 08:37:12

Marydoll I’ve never noticed any oneupmanship, certainly not from you!! How unnecessary to think such a thing, I look forward to everyone’s posts, including your own, don’t stop! any of you 🙂

Grandmajean Thu 25-Mar-21 08:37:30

Good morning from a bright, sunny Cheshire.
Will pop back to read posts after shower and chores. "Gutter Man" coming today to do something or other to the gutters. No idea really - one of the things I tend to leave to DH.[ smile]

Grannyme6 Thu 25-Mar-21 08:37:38

Good morning from sunny Essex. I feel just the same as GG regarding the News, it just gets too much.
We had two ceilings skimmed yesterday and had to move the furniture out of the rooms. It’s chaos and will be for a few days as DH has decided to freshen up the walls whilst the rooms are empty. Good plan but I’ll be relieved when it’s all done.
Wishing everyone with worries a gentle day.

Grandmajean Thu 25-Mar-21 08:38:05

That was meant to be a smiley emoji - clearly doing something wrong

Aldom Thu 25-Mar-21 08:42:29

Pitycity I've just seen that you're planning to descale your taps. You might like to try this useful tip of mine. A two pence piece is a brilliant tool for chipping off limescale. It does not scratch the taps. Hope you have as much success with it as I do, if you decide give it a try.

Hermia46 Thu 25-Mar-21 08:43:47

Marydoll please do not stop 'blethering' I love your accounts of your Scottish life. It is not bragging; your tales from home are a delight, funny, inspiring and at times awesome. I read most of the threads on here most days and I think it is a superb insight into how we grans, plus DHs, plus all the families actually live. Long may it continue smile

NannyJan53 Thu 25-Mar-21 08:47:51

Good morning from a chilly but bright Black Country.

Had a productive day yesterday, as I went over to Mums and cleaned all the outside of her Conservatory, then we went for a walk. Oh the excitement!

NanKate I have two hearing aids, and I certainly notice the difference when I only have one in. Please pass on my good wishes to gilly she is still sorely missed.

Marydoll just keep on posting and being you. I have never noticed any oneupmanship from you or any on here.

Only plans today is a walk, and baking a cake.

Wishing you all a good day, and we are only 4 days away of being able to meet family, albeit only in the garden!

Nannytopsy Thu 25-Mar-21 08:55:21

Good morning Mick and all his followers. At the moment we have wall to wall sunshine and blue skies in Suffolk but the forecast isn’t good. I may cut the lawn while it’s dry.
Marydoll we love to hear your stories - keep it up!
We discovered that I had forgotten to freeze the sausages from the last shop, so it may be sausage for breakfast, lunch and tea today!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Beauregard Thu 25-Mar-21 08:55:57

Marydoll I read that post and I've been wondering who it was about but never for a moment did I think it could possibly be about you. Nowhere in your posts are there any signs of one upmanship, so carry on exactly as you are flowers
