Freedom to shop

I was at the library to return a book first thing this morning, then walked to the shops for a couple of things I needed. Huge queue outside Primark, which was also the case at the end of the last lockdown. Went for a little browse in Waterstones, which was empty, and treated myself to coffee and a cake (outside seating only). Not planning on returning to the shops for a while!

I am going to have my hair sorted out this week, but it is at my hairdressers home where we sit in her dining room with the patio doors open. She wears mask and full face covering. I wear a mask which gets changed after having my hair washed as it always gets wet.
We enter her house by the back way, so no plodding through the house spreading germs or virus.

Just heard from friends? They hadn’t thought about the car aspect! So the one going to drive will take a covid test on Thursday, and if clear take our poorly friend and I’ll drive separately.

Seems like a plan. I shall take a long winters coat, gloves and scarf!!

I want to visit a craft shop as it's so difficult to judge specific colours online,but that won't be for a few days yet. Looking forward to the hairdressers next week.

Not today as have DGS here with me, who's having his pm nap at the moment.
Tomorrow I've got a chiropody appointment in town so may pop in to M&S to check if I see something I fancy in the clothes department. We could also do with some new jigsaw puzzles etc for DGS, as he likes doing them so much.

I like browsing little shops like charity shops, but will likely not be doing that until mask wearing is not required as I detest the claustrophobic feeling of the horrible things.
Interestingly on the TV this morning, it was clarified that giving a lift to friends is not allowed, but driving lessons are. Yet another anomaly!

I'm not going anywhere. I'm happy doing shopping on line.

I love TKMaxx but as I don’t need anything so shan’t go in case I’m tempted.

No visits to the shops for me, apart from our weekly supermarket shop. I'm not really a hobby shopper anyway, I only go when I actually need to buy something specific.

I remember what the queues were like last time - I was only going to the supermarket but outside Primark, TkMaxx and a few other shops there were hundreds of people all chattering away and bouncing up and down as if Christmas had come early, social distancing completely forgotten even by those who didn't wear masks. In a couple of weeks it will have died down a bit.

No, I've no plans to dash into town just yet! I've tried to go food shopping only once a week ( supermarket on Friday, 6-7am), and think I've only been into town a handful of times during the past year. Not helped by our town centre multi-storey closing, so fewer parking spaces available!
I can wait for new clothes/shoes/random other "stuff" until the crowds die down. I am looking forward, eventually, to a good browse round the charity shops though! x

No. Nor tomorrow, or the day after. I'm quite happy to continue shopping online until we've (all) had both vaccine jabs and this 'plague' is greatly reduced.

No one has turned a switch and said no more Covid .. I dont have that level of confidence yet that its safe to do anything more than meet two or three outdoors and try to keep socially distanced. I'm not rushing to shops. I'm not keen to go anywhere thats busy. I am guessing everyone will make their own judgements on what they feel is safe for themselves and others but sadly I am not confident yet that we should all mingle.

No. Apart from the supermarket I hate shopping. I am not interested in clothes and I have everything I need for my home. So no the shops don't hold any pull for me.

No, I've no plans as yet will see how things go. Not actually been into a shop for over a year, apart from garden centres. Have been keeping the delivery drivers busy though!

I am in no rush to get to the shops. I like a browse around the charity shops although lockdown has shown me that I buy items in the shops as they seem such a bargain and most of the time I do not need them, managing without the shops and charity shops has cut down on so much stuff being hung up and half the time not used. My son always told me that I buy items that I do not need how right he was.

I 'm not a shopper either. Go into shops and don't know what to look at. I've got all the clothes I shall ever need and everything for house and kitchen

So I'll just continue haunting my local garden centre. It's nice just to wander around looking a
t the plants.

Whitewave I agree, silly to possibly undo a year of sensible measures for the sake of a car share. Good idea to stay local so that all can get there under their own steam.
I’m planning to wait for warmer weather before lunching out with friends, all arriving separately of course.

Not a keen shopper at the best of times. Had my second jab on Saturday so will wait a fortnight for maximum protection to build. Will then venture out carefully, masked and sanitised, for some paint and shelf brackets.
Could do with some larger sized clothes but will wait and see if I can lose some lockdown pounds first.

No way am I going shopping for a couple of weeks when the crowds will have dispersed a bit. My husband said every barber had at least 10 people waiting outside and he was tickled because he said most of the people waiting didn't look like they needed a trim.

For car travel aren't the recommendations to sit in the back, both driver and passenger wear a mask (one passenger!), have windows open sanitise hands entering and on leaving vehicle. You aren't being unreasonable, its your friends who is.

Went to Kingston, not that busy in John Lewis, but had to queue for Fabricland. Haircut this evening! Felt quite safe.

Love to shop but have a feeling that it will be extremely busy for the first week or two so will keep well away!

Our localTMx, shares the car park with our local Sainsbury. When I drove there for my normal weekly shop early this morning, I was astonished to see very long queues outside of TMax. They were still there, and just as long when I had finished my shopping and drove out of the car park. Having never been to one of those shops, I am now wondering what I am missing.

I am looking forward, on Wednesday, to a trip to my nearst CareCo. to have a look and try out of their recliner/riser chairs.
