Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey and windy outside, but remains dry here in brackley this morning.
Did my usual yesterday , saw my dealer at the flea market , did usual cafes stops in both cases ordering inside to eat outside , the first one in Bicester , was told they may not return to indoor eating , due to staff shortages obvious lockdowns with closers do not make things perfect .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all to follow from the black country. Early start again DH going fishing weather better than 2 weeks ago no snow, looks like it will be a nice day again. Will do my ironing then get on with some gardening.

Gagagran Sun 25-Apr-21 06:26:41

Morning Mick and everyone from a clear south coast. The sun is just about to peep over the roof tops. I think we are promised another nice day. 5.4c at present and hopefully less wind than yesterday which was very breezy,

Looking forward to trying our new rainfall shower head shortly. I have always fancied one so hope it lives up to expectations. Nothing else exciting planned for today. DH is going out with his bike club again and gradually increasing the distance he does each time. His recovery from his latest operation on 5 March has been really good. Thankfully, as he still faces a third op. in due course.

Hope the day is a good one for us all sunshine

Ashcombe Sun 25-Apr-21 06:31:18

Good morning from a bright Torbay but with the NE wind keeping temperatures down. ?

It’s lovely to read all the news of outings and walks in the countryside, especially with the lovely photos to illustrate your posts but the photo of the day has to be the one of your grandchildren, glammagran!

Good news from your scan, Urmstogran which must be reassuring. I hope grandMattie returns today - there are worse addictions than GN! Dollie sounds like a delightful little character, Marydoll!

Yesterday, I had hoped to walk out for a coffee on Babbacombe Downs but my body had other ideas with migraine dazzles appearing mid morning. ? The bright sun and cold wind kept me indoors.

On a lighter note, on Friday, I hard boiled an egg to have with my lunchtime salad. At bedtime, I found a piece of eggshell which had lodged in my bra!! Weird or what? ?

Our MD at church makes a welcome return to his duties today so I can participate fully in the service at church this morning. ✝️ I hope that the day of rest revitalises everyone. ☀️??

Good morning from a sunny north Surrey
Busy day yesterday with work, then a large pile of ironing when I got home. An evening walk to get some fresh air finished me off so had an early night. I have yet to read yesterday’s thread so will catch up with all the news with a cup of tea in bed.
Will have a dog walk this morning and make a few calls before my late shift.
Wishing all a peaceful Sunday

grandMattie Sun 25-Apr-21 06:46:17

Good morning from an overcast E Kent. Difficult to know what to wear for as soon as one goes out side, the wind is very cold, but indoors in the sun, it’s burning ? hot...
No rain. The farmers are overhead irrigating their potatoes already. Most of the fruit tees are drip irrigated so it’s impossible to see when they are done. Not many cherries around here but the pear tree blossom has been fabulous and apple blossom is “pinking” visibly.
I have felt a bit bleugh since Thursday with a sore arm from vaxx 2.
Virtual church this morning then rugger in the afternoon - I have time to myself on Friday evenings and all afternoon on Saturdays and Sundays during the season. I swear it gets longer every year!
Have a gentle day ever, no eggshells in bras, but flamingos in your lives. ???☀️❤️

Good morning from Shropshire.Another sunny day forecast.

We had a lovely day with DGD yesterday.I had ten badges to sew on her Rainbows uniform so sat in the garden sewing while she made perfumes and potions.I had found a lovely Laura Ashley dress my younger daughter wore when she was five.DGD tried it on, it was literally down to the floor but she insisted on wearing it all day and went home wearing it!I am not sure if DD was much taller or if I put her in very long dresses!

Hope grandmattie is ok and back with us today along with Lins and all our other missing friends.

Have a good day all??

Susan56 Sun 25-Apr-21 06:48:43

Crossed posts mattie.Good to see you and hope you feel better soon?

harrigran Sun 25-Apr-21 06:50:04

Good morning from a cold and frosty NE.
Been awake since 4.40 so read my novel for an hour and then made the tea before we start on DH's tablets.
We had showdown with GP surgery on Friday about them refusing to prescribe DH's drugs, which he is on for life. I enlisted the help of my sister who was a practice manager, she got on to them and reminded them of their obligations.
I was so upset, you would not leave your family pet to suffer.
Imagine having to remind doctors about the Hippocratic oath.
By the end of the working day the practice had set up an e-mail address and an E consult account.
Enjoy the weekend, I think it is going to be a changeable week.

Good morning all from Inverness where it’s another lovely dry sunny start to the day. It’s good that you’re out and about and enjoying your outings mick take care though
Lovely to see you back GM and I hope you’re feeling better again soon
That sounds like an awful situation harri that shouldn’t have happened at all, but pleased you had someone to help
10 Rainbow badges is a very lot susan your DGD must have been very busy earning all of those - a very well done to the little lady!
We had a lovely day yesterday in DD2 garden, today DH is going back to help SiL finish building the wooden swing/slide set which is a mammoth job! I’m staying home to catch up on jobs here and get ready for my trip away from tomorrow. The first time I’ve been away anywhere since last August so I’m really looking forward to it.
Those eggshells get everywhere Ash ?
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today, looks for a random flamingo or two and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Sar53 Sun 25-Apr-21 07:17:59

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is peeping through the clouds. The breeze coming off the sea is cold and has been for the last week.
DH is off to rugby with his grandsons and I am going to do a little housework as I have offered to go with DH tomorrow to help clean his boat. He bought a new vacuum cleaner yesterday to make it easier to get into all the nooks and crannies below decks.
Apparently my 3 year old granddaughter went to Baby Ballet for the first time yesterday and loved it. Following in the footsteps of her big sister.
Have a lovely Sunday, take care and find that ?xx

Grammaretto Sun 25-Apr-21 07:22:45

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Another sunny day ahead.
I have my 2nd vax tomorrow. Aren't we lucky when so much of the world is still so vulnerable.
Happy Sunday all.

Blossoming Sun 25-Apr-21 07:29:29

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire. I’m off to have my second Covid vaccination shortly, will catch up on everybody’s posts when we get back.

Grandmabatty Sun 25-Apr-21 07:34:43

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 0° and a hazy sky. Sar my dd went to ballet when she was three and loved it. She danced all through her teens and coached primary children before she went to uni. I hope your dgs's get as much out of dancing as she did. Brooke enjoy your trip to Cambridge. It'll be lovely for you to see your family face to face. Susan I used to wear Laura Ashley clothes in the mid seventies. I loved the style. Your post took me right back. Grandmattie it's good to see you back where you belong! I can hear a song to go with that. Mick so many cafés and restaurants are changing how they do things. It's unsettling. Harrigran I'm glad you have got things sorted but it's atrocious that you had to do all that. My sympathies are with you. Ashcombe migraines are awful. Are you feeling better now?
Yesterday I had a burst of energy and motivation and got everything done in the morning that normally takes me all day. My reward was a visit from dd,dsil and dgs who is at the giving kisses and cuddles stage. I thoroughly approve!
Today will be a quiet one I think. A bit of sewing and knitting. I have lost my motivation to paint at the moment. Whatever you are up to, I hope you have a good day.

Beechnut Sun 25-Apr-21 07:36:37

Good Morning all from sunny Severnside. I had a lie in this morning.

No firm plans for today so I will take it as it comes. Some of my day will enjoy being out in the sunshine.

I don’t think we are quite out of the woods yet but as you say Grammaretto we are lucky.

Have a good day all ?

Urmstongran Sun 25-Apr-21 07:37:14

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s gorgeous already. I cannot believe how lucky we are here with wall-to-wall sunshine every day! Himself is still snoozing - I think these bike rides with the boy wonder are responsible.
?

Gosh it’s so quiet in a town centre on a Sunday morning! Not a soul out on the main road and only the very occasional car. You could hear a pin drop.

My stepfather is joining us for lunch of gammon, cauli cheese and roast potatoes later. We did wonder whether to sit in the sunshine at the bar downstairs but now he’s older he feels the cold more, so a pre-prandial pint in the sunshine will only be possible if (a) there’s no breeze and (b) if a table is available. I shall judge the situation at 1pm when Himself drives over to fetch him.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. x

cornergran Sun 25-Apr-21 07:37:23

Morning Mick, morning All from a bright and breezy corner of Somerset.

Beautiful sunshine yesterday tempted us into the garden for a much needed tidy up. Goodness the wind was cold. We’d just retreated indoors when an unexpected visit from our soon to be ex daughter in law and our granddaughters had us back outside for half an hour. They had been out walking with our Littlest and his minders so news and photos to share.

No real plans for today, perhaps some sewing and more garden pottering.

Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

kittylester Sun 25-Apr-21 07:38:46

Good morning from a lovely bright North Leicestershire. I don't wish to complain but we could really do with a couple of days of rain!

Easy lunch of chicken tray bake with lots of peppers, red onions and garlic!

Have the best day possible everyone.

Urmstongran Sun 25-Apr-21 07:44:27

kitty ... If the Spanish said ‘we need rain for the reservoirs’ my friend in Spain would say ‘it can rain all it likes from midnight till 7am!’.

Greyduster Sun 25-Apr-21 07:48:27

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A bright start in South Yorkshire and an early one for us as we are going to watch GS play football this morning, although I spent painful another night so I could do with a lie in. We had a nice walk down the valley yesterday and our local farmer now has some sheep. There has been no livestock on the farm for since 2001. I said it was lovely to see them back and he said yes but they’re a pain in the backside! I forgot to ask him what sort they are - they look like Hampshire’s, but there were some Jacobs too.
Roast pork for a late lunch today. Have the best day you can folks.

Jaxjacky Sun 25-Apr-21 07:49:03

Good morning Mick and all, bright sun here in S Hants, I long for the sound of rain when I wake up along with the farmers grandMattie. harri hopefully that dire situation has been sorted, shouldn’t have been necessary. The GC’s were an absolute joy and said they were saving all their hugs up for when we’re allowed. DD thoroughly enjoyed her night out, although she said by 9:30 it was freezing outside. Allotment later for me, DH will watch football, he deserves a rest. Both GC’s love spending time with him, I guess it’s because he does different things from me, he mixed up concrete yesterday to lay a few slabs and they were both glued to him. Ash eggshell is novel! I keep my mobile in mine on the rare occasion I’ve no pockets and have been known, briefly, to wonder where it is.
Enjoy your day everyone, those with worries or poorly may little shaft of ? seek you out, or a ? or two.
muse ?your son makes contact ?.

grandMattie Sun 25-Apr-21 07:49:17

Thank you for your concern. I meant to say earlier, we are not particularly worried about DS1 in India. His boarding school is in the mountains (Western Ghats) to the east of Pune. They are in a bubble, and he’s been vaccinated l. His problem is getting back. He normally has to come back to ?? UK for an annual work permit. He will be able come home relatively soon but will have the obligatory hotel isolation which will p..s him off as he is a very active chap. I’ll keep you updated...l

Pittcity Sun 25-Apr-21 07:52:01

Good morning from an overcast Colchester. Another cool, dry day forecast here. I agree with your friend Urmston as I'll have to get the hose out again today. It's April and our lawns are cracking up.
A quiet Sunday here with roast pork for dinner.

dragonfly46 Sun 25-Apr-21 07:55:33

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.
It was just like summer sitting in the garden yesterday with DD and SiL. It was so lovely to see them.
We now have the dog for a week before his operation to improve his breathing.

No plans today just dog walking.

Have a good day every one.

grandmajet Sun 25-Apr-21 07:56:54

Good morning from Nottinghamshire. The sky looked clear and blue half an hour ago but has clouded over now, so, who knows?
?eggshell, Ash!
GrandMattie, glad you are feeling better today.
Harrigran, I’m so glad you got your problems sorted out with the surgery, it’s not good enough that you have had the added stress when you already have more than enough to cope with.
Have a lovely break, brook, there’s nothing like seeing family face to face after all this time.
Yesterday turned out to be a nice day. I had some bras to return - why do they never fit? - via our local m&s food store, then went on to DD1’s garden to see their newly dug little pond. We sat in the sun with a cup of tea and came home much cheered up.
In the evening we watched Goodbye Christopher Robin and were disconcerted to discover that Christopher Robin’s nanny was Jo Davidson from Line of Duty! Did he grow up to be Ryan Pilkington?
Enjoy your day, everyone, and be kind to yourself.
