I'm all behind like the cow's tail today. By the time I've read all the goings-on etc, it's crumpet time, then I had a wash because I knew I wanted a few bits from the corner shop and couldn't rest until I got them or I can't settle.
Phone going and a knock on the door--very distracting grin

However, having waded through the posts I sense great excitement at the forthcoming births, slowly but surely and no doubt by the time I've finished posting there'll be a " eureka " moment.

It's bloomin' cold out I know that so I'll have to do something to warm me up, like ironing.
I don't intend doing much else, though I was going to do some dusting but that's just silly. It can wait.

Glad to hear of a successful procedure and hope that those who have appointments are as fortunate for a positive result.
I'll probably be a bit later again in the morning as I have yet another INR at the surgery with my blood being skew-wiff lately and no doubt will be asked again about having my 2nd jab----which I'm not, just the one will do me.

Hoping that everyone is alright and thoughts to those who aren't flowers Take care when out and about and stay safe.xx

Did anyone just watch Bargain Hunt. Two flamingoes bought for £32 were sold at auction for £85.. they’re obviously in demand ! ??

My hair is genuinely red, DDs is jet black, mix them together and you get brown!!! ?

Litterpicker Wed 28-Apr-21 12:20:36

Maybe I’m just jealous of that rich brown colour Marydoll ?. Pleased to hear you got your vacc appointment. Hope no side effects this time.

Litterpicker Wed 28-Apr-21 12:15:26

Well done Dogs, now all you have to do is remember the names ?

Marydoll Wed 28-Apr-21 12:10:33

dragonfly, I would if I could! It is so frustrating and causes great anxiety!

All through my almost 2hr telephone consultation this morning, my phone kept beeping! It was DD hassling me to phone the surgery about my jab!!!

grandMattie Wed 28-Apr-21 12:10:11

That’s wonderful about your second jag, Mary, well done. ???

Dogsmakemesmile Wed 28-Apr-21 12:05:24

Litterpicker thank you for your advice. You can teach an old Dogs new tricks.
Morning everyone. Fresh and grey here but that's great. Hope everyone has a restful day as possible .

dragonfly46 Wed 28-Apr-21 12:03:31

Well done Marydoll could you ring my SiL's surgery as he has fallen through the cracks and although over 50 cannot get his first jab for love or money.

Marydoll Wed 28-Apr-21 12:03:30

Going to my My GP surgery , as I'm a shielder. I was anxious because they missed me the first time and I had a battle on my hands.

I was already with my spiel about hospital treatment being postponed until my second jab, when the receptionist offered me an appointment for tomorrow! I was speechless! ( for a change!)

Feelingmyage55 Wed 28-Apr-21 11:59:34

Well done Marydoll. I might emulate you if I haven’t heard by next week. Hope you are going local (not loco) for the jab.

Marydoll Wed 28-Apr-21 11:55:57

Litterpicker, how dare you cast aspertons on my photo! I'm extremely hurt! wink

Feelingmyage, I used my guid Scots tongue and have my second jag tomorrow at 11.05!

grandMattie Wed 28-Apr-21 11:44:02

B9, it has become a little arcane... When my DGD Iris had her first operation to straighten her leg before lengthening in November, I got her some Lego. She was thrilled and told me about it, adding that there “even was a random flamingo” in the pack! It was picked up by other GMers and is now well established.
Someone suggested that 8-year old Iris had become our mascot, with flamingos as motifs. ?????

Feelingmyage55 Wed 28-Apr-21 11:43:31

Ugh. Overnight rain

Feelingmyage55 Wed 28-Apr-21 11:40:31

Good morning from a cool north of Scotland and thankfully the garden has been well watered by considerable overnight.

I had to go out yesterday to pick up some wood stain for the fence and saw various police cars and police vans. We are in a tourist destination and the road has been very busy since last Friday. All the holiday homes are full and there are lots of adverts asking for cleaners, more so than usual as apparently people are booking for two nights at a time so people are having to do laundry and cleaning three times a week. All the hotels and cafes have marquees outside and it looked as if there were going to be wedding receptions all over the place! The atmosphere is very festive but I will be sticking to online shopping for now. People everywhere and not a mask in sight. We drove into the supermarket car park, as usual. And as usual, drove back out again. Staff serving at the cafes outside were not wearing masks so I am very confused about the rules.

The nights are so cold I’ve had to refrain from doing a garden centre visit but soon. I can’t imagine how much I’ll spend as the list is getting longer every time I watch a gardening programme.

Harrigran. What a worry.
NanKate. So pleased for you
Marydoll. You have a “good Scots tongue” so I happen you get a result when you exercise it.

To all, have the best day you can.

B9exchange Wed 28-Apr-21 11:38:00

As a relatively new poster to this thread, can someone please enlighten me on the pink flamingos? grin

hollysteers Wed 28-Apr-21 11:35:02

Good morning Mick and all from a mixed up weather wise day on the northwest Lancashire coast. I hope you bump into someone you know soon Mick, just a little chat helps the day along at the mo.
I MUST jetwash the large back patio, but am using my flu jab reaction as an excuse and will paint another abstract. Also no one is coming and I’m really feeling the cold, would really like to turn the heating back on. As I face the Irish ‘ocean’, last road before the sea, it seems colder inside than out.
Lost my mojo today, but send thoughts to Cherry Marydoll and B9exchange and all with troubles.
A flamingo used for croquet in a pop up book (I collect them)
There is a tab to pull and the flamingo goes up and down ?

Litterpicker Wed 28-Apr-21 11:28:32

Good morning. Cloudy here in West Sussex but no rain. Those in the north and west who have rain, please send it this way (but not tomorrow when I’m going to see the tulip displays at Arundel Castle!).

All the photos are lovely - except Marydoll’s which is “different” ?. I had my hair cut just before they closed in December and now have to wait until 29 May for my appointment ?.

I love these Yorkshire rivers Alygran. The Derbyshire ones also Beau.

Hope all goes well and baby arrives safely B9. Hope for news soon on the other babies due this week.

Dogs you need to make sure there are no spaces between your asterisk and first letter (and same at end) I have learnt the hard way ?

We have to look at flooring samples and make a decision soon. I hate making decisions!

I have decided to have some more coffee - have the best day you can GMers ???

B9exchange Wed 28-Apr-21 11:23:04

Just had a cryptic text 'making slow progress'!

Urmstongran Wed 28-Apr-21 11:17:46

Apologies - B9exchange of course - sorry.

Urmstongran Wed 28-Apr-21 11:16:49

We are now all on pins I expect BB9 waiting to hear your news - I know I am! Will pop back late later on to check.
Hope all goes well this time around - at least the midwives will be aware of your daughter’s past history. x
