Good morning all from a sunny, wintry, cold Angus coast. This weather is expected to be with us for another three weeks, so hey ho - and hope it's wrong! I do find this return to winter - albeit with warmer sunshine - so depressing.
Sorry to see Lauranorder is leaving us now, though understand her reason - it can take up a lot of time! There seem to a number of posters out of touch just now - I particularly miss Bellasnanna posts from Malta, and Sheep from the farm.
I force myself not to read through the posts until evening which means my comments to others are way out of date! Many congratulations B9 in the safe arrival of little Olive, and I hope she's home soon to put her big brother out of his agony of expectation ?
Someone else's (sorry, name escapes me) DDiL is in for an op to bring her little one into the world today, so best wishes to that little family too.

My own little world trudges on. All well under the Dental Hygienist's beady eye thank goodness. Unusually we had a bit of a chat and she removed her weapons tools from my mouth so that I could join in. She had commented on this being the frostiest April for 60 years, which she said of course meant the coldest in her lifetime (I hadn't thought of that!). I could remember the preceding months being a particularly cold winter, and the River Tay being iced over quite far out from the shore and the ferry crunching through it. Well of course she could remember no time when there wasn't a road bridge and I was able to tell her that I was at the opening of that in 1966 and my then fiance was in the flypast as it was opened by the QM. History lesson for her, but it left me realising just how old I am!! It made me smile ?.
That was followed by a visit to the fishmonger - fresh fish from the wee fishing port just up the coast. So lovely fresh breaded haddock for tea and a bowl of Cullen Skunk for lunch.
An excited message from DGD1 yesterday (the one who is off to Dance School in September) to tell me that she is her school's Artist of the Week this week for one of her paintings in a series exploring the effect of light on the Scottish landscape. She is one creative young lady (I say without bias of course ?)
DD is off down to see her partner in the deep south Midlands this weekend, but neither daughter wants to go. The novelty of driving up and down the country is wearing off for them I fear. So they are home alone together for two whole days and nights. At 17 and 15 they are plenty old enough (and my nephew lives in the same village should they need someone) but of course to me they are still wee babies and my heart will be in my mouth until DD is home again in time for tea on Sunday. (This is the first time I haven't been "needed" to stay over with them, so my inevitable redundancy has arrived ?).
Life marches on.
So does time! So I really must move myself so that at least I am showered and dressed and the basic housework completed this side of noon (yes Lauranorder, you are so right!)

Going to visit friends in snowdonia tomorrow it's a lot of driving there and back but worth it to see them I will have to set off very early to avoid bank holiday traffic

Sunny now but it wasn't 5 minutes ago. It makes such a difference to the well-being when the sun shines, it's lovely.

What a beautiful dog Dexter is. He's like a teddy-bear, a Chow or a Pomeranian ? Probably neither He's gorgeous.

I'm beginning to feel ashamed with everyone receiving their second jabs after having refused to have mine. I can't get assurance from anyone that I won't have a bad A/fib attack again as the only interest that people seem to have are in the targets of the numbers who've been vaccinated locally !

I don't wish anyone any harm but I would like someone to experience a rapid heartbeat which you have no control over, lasting for at least 6 hours then feeling as though you've done a marathon when it stops---completely drained. Which is why I'm not having a second jab.It's a foreign body and the system reacts in different ways. I'll take my chances.

I'm hoping D will call in sometime over the weekend, though I know it's her busiest time at work. I haven't seen her since Easter. I fear at times that she does too much and it worries me as she's coming up to 60 in a couple of years, although my GS helps in the home between his shifts at work. A busy household.

I was going to put the washer on but with the risk of a shower, I'll leave it until tomorrow which looks a better prospect so if all the cats can sit out in the sun I'll get the hoover out instead. Not much else on the agenda really.

I haven't read all the posts so some catching up to do. I did note that Maw has her dog who I'm sure she'll be happy with to make a lovely pal. I'm pleased about that as there's nothing like a pet for making a difference in your life, they're good therapy.

Summery shoes to look for online in place of the winter " comfies ", shouldn't be too difficult if I can get one to fit my swollen right foot what a nuisance.

Hope those who were feeling unwell have now perked up and are ready to face the day. Thoughts if you're not so grand.

It's a cloudy and chilly windy here in South Yorkshire with rain showers forecast for later, though looking at the sky, I'd say they are imminent.

I need to motivate myself - I'm sitting around far too much lately, so must try and get outdoors today to plant some agapanthus roots which arrived yesterday. Space is tight, but I'll find some ?.

Will come back later to read all the posts. I'm not quick enough off the mark to post myself these days, so in the meantime, lots more appear which will take some time to read through so I need to post now or it will be afternoon ?.

Good morning from a dull and drizzly Black Country.

Had a quick trip yesterday to Merry Hill shopping centre. It was fairly busy condsidering it was Thursday morning. I only bought a couple of bras and some make up.

MrJ is off on a club bike ride (rather him than me today). I want to go over to Mums to connect her new Portal to wifi, that DD popped into her this mornig on the way to work. It stopped working and it was only a year old. It was sent back to Czech Republic Wednesday last week, and a replacement arrived 2 days ago. Quite impressed with that.

I have just had an email informing me a parcel is being delivered between 11 and 1pm, so need to wait in for that. A dress and a top, just hope they fit and I like them now.

So pleased that Maw now has her Rosie. That is one lucky dog! Thank your Urms for the photo.

Tesco trip the main component of the day followed by some weeding if the rain holds off. Feeling a bit glum for no good reason so need to pretend that all is well because that often helps. The birds in the garden are a joy and in the past few days have seen goldfinches, blue tits, long tailed tits, robins, wrens, numerous sparrows, collared doves, a woodpecker and assorted jackdaws (who have mastered the fat ball feeder far too successfully), magpies and pigeons. Aren’t we lucky?

Crossed posts Urms! Rosie looks like she has settled in already.

was English, absolutely lovely, but kept saying, Oh bless to me, as she read my notes. We don't hear that expression up here and it made me smile and think of Urms, don't ask me why. ?

Morning everyone from a sunny north Kent coast. Lovely to read about second vaccines, meetings with friends and relatives, gadding about in shops and garden centres, new grandchildren and a reminder of what’s important in life from Urms and her DGS.

Busy day in the garden ahead. I plan to plant up my patio pots and containers. The greenhouses are groaning with plants and as we are away next week I am loathe to leave them to the tender care of my DS who always promises to water my plants when I am away, but only remembers them the day before we come home. So, I shall get as many out as I can and cross fingers that the frost is done with. I have been known to spread out several old bedsheets across the garden to protect plants leading to the back garden looking as though it had been infected by zombies and ghosts ?

Looking forward to seeing a photo of Maw’s new companion.

“Good first night! But in the same way that you only sleep lightly if you have a tiny DGC sleeping over, I was awake every hour or so!
Eventually thought I heard a squeak at 6 and I was desperate for a mug of tea, so I ventured down and found a waggy tail and a CLEAN and DRY floor!
So she has now polished off some breakfast, emptied a couple of waste paper bins, shown an interest in my cuppa (“No!”) peed and pood, zoomied round the garden and started playing with Hattie’s toys .

She is a bit of a counter surfer so I am having to rethink putting everything out of reach and may be a bit of a nibbles until she works out what is edible and what isn’t!

Hello, Mick and All from a now cloudy Carlisle. The sun blasted me awake this morning ...no blinds yet in my east facing bedroom...but now we are due a heavy shower by the looks of the sky.
I rang for an appointment with my new GP practice. Thank heavens, not the re-dial and re-dial system where you can try for 40 minutes and still end up with no appointment! A doctor will ring me back in due course. Hopefully, they will have read up my recent history so I don't have to repeat it all as it's getting a bit complex.
Otherwise a day of tidying up and trying to find places for stuff.
Yesterday I had to instal a new printer. I finally got it and the iMac to commune but my iPad remains incommunicado despite following all the advice online. It's probably something simple but I refuse to waste vast amounts of my valuable time on it again today.
Thinking of you harrigran, you are having a tough time and I do hope you will get to see your DD.

Good morning Mick and all from a mixed up weather wise day in northwest Lancashire.
Bags in the hall ready fir the charity shop, it’s a good one locally, easy to park and easygoing, taking anything p, electric stuff etc. Although I keep taking stuff, there’s still too much clutter here, the residue of various relatives on my late husband’s side, dating back to Victorian times? as well as my own.
Brushed my teeth standing on one keg today, apparently it’s one of those little things to do to keep you active!
I have the bowel cancer kit from the NHS but don’t fancy doing it, had breast cancer twice and not looking for trouble, but will gird my loins and get on with it.
Thinking of harrigran, grandmasomerset, Cherry, Marydoll and everyone with worries.

Marydoll the TK Maxx in Colchester had only about half a dozen customers at 4pm yesterday and I was the only one in Next. I didn't find anything that excited me and cam home with only the summer slippers that I'd gone in for.
Luckily our B&M is out of town but I'm only 5 minutes walk from The Range and 10 from Home Bargains.......
