Good morning from Cheshire. Bright and sunny here.
May have a trip to the garden centre before the Bank Holiday customers get there at the weekend. Think could be a very busy time there which is good for business. Haven't read your posts yet. Hope the day brings as many good things as possible.

Good morning all. 3° and sunny in Polmont this morning. JaxJacky I'm awaiting a Tesco delivery too. Marydoll there are no public phone boxes near me anymore. I'm assuming the advent of mobile phones have rendered them unnecessary. That particular phone box up north must be one of the very few left which seems a pity. Dragonfly what a stunning dog. I hope he gets on ok. urmstongran the bluebells are gorgeous. Sadly I have the Spanish variety in my garden and hoik them out as they spread like wildfire.
Yesterday I went shopping with dd and dgs as she wanted to get some clothes. Stirling was busy and Primark was hoaching. A good Scots word for teeming with shoppers. All were masked though and social distancing was kept in the main. I even noticed one of the security chaps pulling up a man who had a mask on as a neck warmer. We then went to a book shop where dgs was unleashed from the pram and was so excited in the children's section. Needless to say grandma bought him two new books. Then we walked to my son's place and dumped the shopping in the car. It's very handy to park at his house! After that we met ds for lunch and then home. I did a lot of walking compared to recently and my legs were a bit achy. I must get out more.
Today will be quiet. Housework and pottering for me. Whatever you are up to, I hope it brings you contentment.

I wanted to give my best wishes to B9Exchange as I read she now has her new grandchild. Such good news. However, I don’t know whether it was a boy or a girl. And to Jaxjacky the garden path your DH laid looks superb.

DD2 and family had a day out at Cotswold Zoo yesterday and dropped in to visit afterwards. The baby is only 8 days old so she’s recovered very quickly. 2 year old is playing up a bit which is so unlike her but is to be expected as her world has been turned upside down. They visited my DS and family last weekend. DGD was standing by the front door as soon as she woke up demanding to go. She adores her cousins. DD1 and eldest GD aged 15 drove 1.5 hours to visit us in the garden and then on to see the new baby (we live in the same town as DD2).

Good morning from Derbyshire. Bright sunshine at the moment but clouding over later.

We have a beautiful bluebell wood nearby and DH said it was close to being in full bloom. We might go a walk there later this morning. With a bit of luck, and if we're quiet, we might spot some deer while we're there.

I'm just making a new breakfast dish which involves oats, yogurt, eggs and blueberries. It's in the oven now - ready in 15 mins, so hope it turns out to be nice.

Dexter is adorable dragonfly. Hope his op goes well.
Hope your DD3's caesarean goes well today ginny. How exciting!

DS sent of video of little Olive with her eyes open just before midnight last night. She looked distinctly unimpressed with the camera, but I can now see the great big angry bruise on her head from the Ventouse. She has some jaundice, it would be lovely if she could come home today, but it seems the hospital is not yet happy and wanting to run more checks, so will have to be patient.

Good luck with the planned Caesar today, I am so sorry I have forgotten which GNetter is going through it today, will go back and check, but my thoughts and prayers will be with you.

And the for the rest of you, I wish you the day you wish for. You are an amazing lot!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Bright but very chilly in South Yorkshire. We had a smart meter fitted yesterday and this morning, our usually trouble free CH boiler was not working. Some fiddling about with the controls managed to kick start it, but it is something of an unhappy coincidence. If it’s not one thing it’s another.
Not much on the cards today. I have some batch cooking to do, and if it stays dry we may go for a walk later.

Good morning from North Yorkshire where it is sunny again.
We had quite a lot of heavy rain yesterday but I managed to dodge it. The arboretum floor is covered in bluebells. Will try to get a picture next time I go.
During the afternoon a sparrow hawk flew into the garden and sat on the fence. No photo as I thought it would fly off if I moved.
DD2 is coming for the weekend. It’ll be good to have some company

Good morning from north Surrey. Sun shining but chilly.
Hectic morning as boys were reluctant to get up and then wanted pancakes for breakfast and then took ages to get dressed and help sort their belongings to go home. They are gone now and I can get on with my jobs after a quick catch up here.
So lovely to read all the business of family and friend catch ups, having vaccinations and venturing out to the shops.
brooke sounds like you are having the perfect week in Cambridge.
We have another National Trust visit booked for today, a new one for us, Hatchlands near Guildford and the pictures have bluebell woods so I have high hopes. We will take a picnic and wrap up warm.
I am cooking tonight so it will be chilli pasta which is one of my favourites.

Good morning all and the sun is shining and it feels a bit warmer, here in Essex. I said that yesterday but it was very nippy again.

We had a lovely walk by the river in Hullbridge, and as we ambled back, the little pub/cafe opened and we had a coffee . Perfect. As you say ! Small pleasures are the best ?.

DD popped in after work and she left a bag of shopping in my fridge. Her and little Dg are going to a petting farm today and she needs her shopping for the picnic. I’ll take it round a bit later.

I will shop today, as DS2 (another beloved child) and family are coming Sunday. Haven’t seen them since September. They have a tiny pup and will bring him along. Goodness knows what our Elsie (cockerpoo) will make if this tiny ball of fluff! ??.

Ashcombe I thought I read yesterday Macron is allowing UK visitors to France from 9th June?. Today is a Tesco delivery and I’m off to get my toenails painted, it’s shellac so lasts months.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where its -1°C.
I too had my second AZ vaccination yesterday and I too am feeling pretty yukky.

Poor DH, sitting in the car park, was becoming very anxious, when people were in and out of the surgery within ten minutes, but no still sign of me half an hour later.
After reading my notes and also about my severe reaction the first time round, the nurse was reluctant to give me my jag, without me first seeing a GP. What surprised me was that patients were actually getting face to face appointments in the surgery, when I had found it difficult all through the pandemic to get support. I had to wait until one was free to see me.
My notes were read again, I was advised of all the side effects and asked how I felt about the risks. The fact that I face some of the side effects on a daily basis made it all the more problematic and raised a wry smile. It was a very thorough consultation indeed.
After listening to the fact that I had researched it all and I was happy, the GP agreed for it to go ahead. Of course, by this time the queue outside was lengthy, the waiting room had run out of socially distanced seats and DH was frantic!
The GP, a new partner was English, absolutely lovely, but kept saying, Oh bless to me, as she read my notes. We don't hear that expression up here and it made me smile and think of Urms, don't ask me why.

All that waiting gave me time to formulate a cunning plan, to persuade DH to make a detour to visit TMaxx.
One of our ancient, whisky barrel planters had collapsed and I knew that B&M ( conveniently) next door to TKMaxx had them. . Result!!! I haven't lost my touch. ?

However, when we got to Linwood, ( Litterpicker, a clue ) , it was so busy, I thought DH would want to turn back. I have never seen it like that. It didn't help that all the trollies were jammed together and we definitely needed one for the compost and barrell.
Eventually I found a supervisor, who need pliers to free them. People were impatiently crowding round, sans social distancing, which made me extremely anxious. ?

I tentatively suggested me having ten minutes in TKMaxx. I wish I could supply you all with a photo of DHs face! ?
It was like Christmas in TKMaxx! There were so many , maskless ( no lanyard) or masks under the nose, non socially distancing elderly people, who appeared to have forgotten the protocol for shopping.
Much to DH's astonishment (once I found him ?) and my extreme disappointment, I was back within my alloted ten minutes! It was too scary and I value my life too much for the sake of a bargain, I don't need!
I kept getting flashbacks all day of the multitude of CLEARANCE❗❗❗❗❗ signs. Sigh.....

Brook your planned day sounds a real treat. Baubles, what a disappointment, I'm sorry you day didn't turn out the way you anticipated.
There is a new antique/junk shop opened in Paisley, which DS2 has been frequenting. I have been itching for a look.

I have an empty, so DD is coming to deal with that, before leaving for her weekend break in a wigwam, near where LocalHero was filmed. SIL plans to phone his sister in the USA from the iconic, red phone box!

Urmston Dexter is indeed a Chow with purple tongue. He is a sweetie but has noisy breathing so grunts and snores a lot hence the operation. We are hoping it will open up his airways.

Btw forgot to say my 43 year old DD got her jab yesterday.

Dexter looks like a huge cuddly teddy dragonfly he’s a big boy. Lovely photo. Is he a Chow? I know they have a purple tongue. Is he a big softie, not a growler?

All this talk of bluebells makes me want to go off and find a bluebell wood locally. We have some in the garden but they are the big Spanish ones, not the same at all.
What an amazing photo, dragonfly - what breed is he? I hope everything goes well for him.
Your holiday sounds just perfect brook, a real mix. I hope the weather continues to be kind.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny ?Northampton. Up a bit earlier this morning as I did not have a very good night.

Very little to report from yesterday, apart from trying out a new recipe, which was basically a pork bolognese with the addition of courgette, lemon juice and zest, white wine and saffron. It was alright, but nothing special. The other half is in the freezer.

No cooking today as I'm off to DD's. It will be pizza as they always have that on a Friday. I plan on making some scones to take with me, so have just got some butter out of the freezer.

Glad to hear that Maw has her new dog; hope they have many happy times together.

Enjoy your day in Cambridge, brook; I was at college near Cambridge and used to spend most weekends there, as that's where my then boyfriend was. Bittersweet memories...

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

I took Dexter for his pre-op yesterday and the vet had to tell me all the things that could go wrong. It is quite scary but DD says to go ahead as it will improve his quality of life.

I have had a sneaky peak of maw’s Rosie and she is indeed gorgeous.

Will plant out my sweet peas today as my gardening friend tells me as they are quite big plants they are quite hardy. Then just dog walking and Sainsbury delivery.

So sorry to hear about your niece’s mother kitty.

DH is taking the car for a service this morning, a 90 minute wait for it as no way of getting home whilst it's being done. He wants a flask of coffee and his Kindle to take with him.
I've promised to make a fruit cake, let's hope its edible ?? .
